Sierra Mountain Inn

My wife and I spent 6 wonderful nights in their cottage while visiting family in the area. Very comfortable and quiet, beautiful grounds, and close to everything. The manager would accommodate any of our needs, however, we didn’t need much because so much is provided. We are looking forward to returning… which is in 3 days after a quick trip to the coast!

This is a really cute little Inn near downtown Grass Valley. Staff was great, the room was nicely appointed...... only wish is a maybe a bit closer to downtown, but that is being really picky. SMI is a great place to stay for a night or two!!!

My sister and I had to evacuate from California due to a fire threatening our town. So we went to our dads 8 hrs away in NV. On our way back, our car started to overheat (around Fernley). We stopped in Grass Valley and made the decision to stay the night, and leave just before the sun came up. So we chose SMI and booked our room. They are 100% pet friendly (long as you pay the $35 pet fee). There are dog baggies just next to the lawn. The room was we got was small, but we just needed a break. Their bed was so comfy, our pup slept throughout most of our stay. Wifi is ever so slightly spotty, but wasn’t a big deal. The room was very clean upon arrival. And the hospitality was BEYOND amazing. They have a text system, so if you need anything, they’re there to help you until the office closes (8AM-8PM, but available until around 9:30PM). You get into your rooms by the last 4 of your phone number, so when checkout comes, all you have to do is text! My ONLY complaint was the few TV channels the TV offered. My sister and I couldn’t find cartoons (though I’m not sure if we were looking hard enough). We watched Family Guy and ID shows most of the time. Thank you SMI!!!!

This is one of the nicest places we have stayed in California! We stayed at several Hilton properties this summer and SMI blew them all out of the water. Comfortable bed, great a/c, water fill station, smart tv, and super close to town. Easy late night check in and even simpler check out. We walked down to the shops and to the wedding we came to town for at the Holbrooke Hotel. Thank you for a great stay!

Loved staying here. Helpful, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent location within walking distance to downtown Grass Valley. Price is reasonable. All the amenities you need. I'll look forward to staying there again!

Stayed here many many times, always phenomenal.
Clean rooms and very plush in my opinion. Amenities are amazing. Staff was warm and welcoming. They provide dishes, dish soap, coffee, ect. in the rooms. This has been one of my very favorite places to stay for a few years. If you want to.relax, you'll love it here.

Very comfortable room with a small kitchenette and coffee maker. Parking is tight and difficult to exit but we managed

Super comfy, roomy and clean! Very close to downtown Grass Valley. The bed and linens were amazing. I didn’t want to get out of bed! Strong shower pressure and large bathroom. My parking space was right in front of my door as well. Will definitely be visiting again!

I discovered the Sierra Mountain Inn when I was searching for a place to stay near downtown Grass Valley. The beds are so comfy (I've stayed in 4 different rooms) and all of them make you melt into the sheets. It is close to the grocery store, restaurants and shopping. You can easily walk to town. I've stayed here so many times I feel like I'm at home when I'm here. Customer service is great, everyone is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!!

I had a lovely stay. These folks worked with me when my first flight out for my visit was unexpectedly cancelled; they were so kind and helpful. The bed was perfect: incredibly soft and comfy, like sleeping on a cloud. They're close enough to downtown to walk to restaurants, and there's even a little kitchenette with a fridge for leftovers! If walking isn't an option, they have a dedicated parking space for each room. The shower was even better than the one I have at home! All rooms have AC and my room had a ceiling fan, which was great since there was a heat wave. Climate change: 0/10, not a fan. On the other hand, this hotel: 10/10, would definitely stay there again!

Our room was super clean and the whole place was cute with nice grounds! The staff was really nice and very helpful! Our bed was incredibly comfy!!! It was a beautiful short walk to downtown and was surrounded by lovely Victorian homes. We would suggest this spot to all and we’re sure we’ll be going back!

The entire property is very clean. Our rooms were spotless. Staff friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to downtown. Great restaurants and wine tasting thete too. We'll beback.

I have been having a good stay at the Sierra Mountain Inn. They are very hospitable and gracious with their customers. I stayed for 10 nights and had a blast downtown the whole trip.

I've stayed here twice, and Diane has been a treat both times--kind, attentive, jovial. The rooms are cozy, have a microwave and a mini fridge, and a small TV. You're about an 8 minute walk from downtown and Marshall's pasties. This is my preferred place to stay when I'm up visiting--to the point that I'll plan my trip based on when they have availability.

After being evacuated because of the River fire, we had a great stay one night at the Inn. We had a bad experience the night before so a clean, comfortable and friendly experience was just what we needed!! Our room was perfect and comfortable. The owner was so nice to us and found a way to get us in a little early so we wouldn't have to sit in our cars and wait with animals. We got a really good rest and felt so comfortable! Great job!
