Joe Walker Middle School

Recently attended open house for incoming students and was very impressed with the programs offered at this public middle school, both inside and outside of the classroom. Excellent music and theater departments and many opportunities to experience learning in various methodologies. I really think my daughter will enjoy the robotics program at this school.

I am an 8th grader at Joe Walker. I have been there since 6th grade and I love this school. The teachers are nice and they teach very well. I am a current cheerleader and I'm one of the best cheerleaders, I'm not captain, but I'm still one one of the best and the BEST backspot for stunts.

this school is one of the finest. the person from 3 years ago doesn't have their facts strait. Mrs. sergeant is a pain but can be nice. the best thing is the teachers personality. might i recommend a few? Mr. Chronis is a very good teacher. he doesn't teach, he trades information. he interacts with the class. he even writes songs and plays the eukalayle. mr. hurlburt is amazing. he just sits back and talks people through it. class is always awesome with him. mr. french is the best math teacher ive met. he has one of the best characters i have seen. mrs. scott is one of the best teachers ive met. she has a good attiude and is out going her way to assist you in any way she can. i suggest that you go to the school before you review it ;)

I graduated from Joe Walker, and it was a great junior high school back in my day. I have very fond memories of Joe Walker.

Some excellent teachers

I believe that it is a great school. The teachers are very intelligent and are very helpful. My complaints though, are the fact that you cannot step on the grass without equipment and the fact that you are not allowed to run on the concrete. I understand that it's not safe running on the concrete when there are so many other students, but please, for the love of God, if you are not allowing us to run on the concrete, at least let us on the grass so that we can run there. I dislike that you are threatened by a detention for running. Another complaint is that they will only enforce the "hands off violation" rule when it's a guy and a girl hugging. But really, my biggest complaint is not being able to be on the field. Other than that, the education is great, the teachers are very nice and helpful, There really aren't any bullies (As far as I know) and the principal (Mr. Wood) is very nice and understanding. I definitely recommend you to put your child in this school.

Great school. Teachers are great, blah blah goody goody school. The only thing that sucks is the dress code. School is suppose to teach students but give them life lessons. learning where they fit. if you have all there rules like no peorcings and unnatural hair color it crushes student reflection. I'd walked in with green hair and a fake nose peircing and look straight at the principle and ask do you have a problem with what I look like? I ain't gonna dye my hair back to normal for school. you have no right to in fingers that rule on me. I don't go to that school anymore. I went like a month. it was stupid but pretty

Dear Brooke, maybe if girls didn't wear shorts so that are so short that you can see their butt cheeks, then we wouldn't have a dress code. If showing your butt cheeks to people is expressing yourself then I think you need some help.
