It was my first time here and everyone was super nice and very pleasant. Dr Peterson answered all
Of my concerns. He is very personable and knowledgeable. He explained all
Of my questions very thoroughly. I think he got my eye prescription just right so I’m excited to get my new glasses and hopefully give my eyes a little rest.

Dr. Clark is very professional and has a great bed side manner. He make you feel comfortable and line you have known him for awhile. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also make you feel comfortable…especially when pulling 50 frames to try on! They are like it’s okay! Love it.

I moved out here about 4 years ago looking for an eye doctor so I started searching and reading reviews. This place had some really good reviews so I decided to try it out. Everyone is nice and helpful. Optometrist right away knew what I needed after taking a few exams. Very pleased we chose this place. I will refer all my friends in the AV.

Each staff member was not only professional but also incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs.

The environment was clean and well-organized, which further enhanced my experience. The optometrists were knowledgeable and took their time to explain everything clearly, ensuring I understood all aspects of my eye care. It's rare to find such a dedicated and caring team.

Wonderful atmosphere, everyone in the office is very pleasant and helpful. I can’t say enough about Dr. Shields, she is friendly, forthright and makes everything easy while in her care.

Very pleasant visit. Efficient check-in and exam started on time. Technician was very good and thorough. Dr. Peterson was personable and listened to my issues with my eyes. I felt his exam was complete and done properly (I've seen a lot of optometrists in the last 50 years!). I selected new frames and lenses--no sales pressure and I was informed on what was covered on my vision plan (VSP). Checkout was easy and I'm looking forwards to getting my new glasses!

Dr. Shields is amazing! Both my kids were nervous but she made them so comfortable. She’s great with kids and adults. I’d recommend her to everyone.

Dr Shields and staff were great. She is a knowledgeable and personable doctor. Great bedside manner and explains things so that I can understand. The respect the patients time and run on-schedule so I'm very appreciative of that. Thanks for a great visit. Keep up the great work!

Yearly exam. As always excellent experience. Dr. Shields is great. Very concerned about my health and changes in my vision. I highly recommend all of her staff. You will be happy and glad you visited her office.

My kids LOVE Dr Shields. She is such a great physician! I have been coming to AV Optometric for over 10 years and have no plans to change even though we moved 45 minutes away. Great office staff as well

Really like the evening appointments. They got me in quick, and I saw the doctor in less than 15 minutes from getting there. They have competitive pricing compared to other optometrist in the area, even costco. Opto Assistant Brook was fast and efficient. Dr Clarke was pleasant and genuinely seemed like the patient care was in his best interest 😃. There's plenty of parking also, if I may add.

So my daughter had an appointment to get her eyes checked on August 29th 2025 and to receive a new prescription, and I happen to be visiting her Family here in California; I reside in Arizona.

When she checked in , I asked the gal helping her how much was this going to cost my daughter, as she has no insurance.

She proceeded to tell me $109- and I said hmm, I actually need to get a new prescription from an eye doctor Arizona, and I liked the price; she said well, I have an open spot with another Doctor (same time as my daughter's appt).

The gal asked me if I have insurance and I said yes, but in Arizona, and it's with Humana. She asked me a few questions to see if my insurance would be honored there...and it was !!

She got me right in. The gal that was doing part of the exam was very friendly and clearly knew what she was doing.

Finally, the Doctor came in and he was also very pleasant. I explained the surgeries I had and told him the glasses I had gotten last were too strong for reading, and the one I had for night driving had major glares from oncoming cars and street lights, as well as signals, so I never really got to use them (over $500- down the drain ).

He proceeded with his tests on my eyes, and I said Wow, I wonder why my other eye Doctor I used to see didn't do all these tests 🤔 ?! He responded with; I've heard that alot...I said well you're doing great (I was definitelyimpressed) !

The Doctor asked me if I had any questions and I actually did ; well, he answered All my questions very clearly and he actually taught me things, I probably should have been told by my old Doctor!!

The Doctor and all the staff were very welcoming, and we were Not Pressured to buy Frames or lenses right then, which was a bit refreshing for a change....smiles.

So, I'd like to again ; Thank this Office for being so Awesome to my daughter and I and let us leave with a Smile !!

I had a great experience with AVOC. My son was suffering from severe eye allergies. Dr.Shields was able to make a great diagnosis on his condition. She prescribed him an eye rx. The visit was great and she was really knowledgeable on his eyes. Her assistant was really nice too! I am genuinely happy I brought my son in so he can get the proper treatment.
I will be returning for any other eye needs.

I changed insurance so I came here for the first time & loved it. The eye exam was so much more comprehensive than I've ever had (and I've had glasses all my life so I've had quite a few exams), it was well-staffed, staff were all polite, professional, and pleasant, even with each other.

Because of the expertise of the staff & my doctor, they discovered my previous eye issues weren't really issues at all, but were a result of my previous prescription being too strong, so my eyes were essentially straining 24/7, and despite not receiving my new glasses w new prescription yet, I feel confident in their diagnosis because of the extremely comprehensive eye exam.

I will definitely recommend AV Optometric Center to all my friends & family.

Doctor Shields and the staff at AVOC were very professional and took very good care of me. Doctor Shields goes above and beyond to explain optical health and concepts. I was very impressed by her acumen.
