Ponderosa Ridge A Bed & Breakfast

We loved our stay at this bed and breakfast! Bonnie and Bill were excellent and welcoming hosts. Bonnie made a delicious breakfast for us, and they were both very friendly to talk to. The room was very clean and organized. We hope to stay here again in the future during apple picking season!

Excellent hosts! The rooms are very well done and the property itself is beautiful. Downtown Placerville is a cute little area to shop and get something to eat. A lot of hiking trails in the area too, and South Lake Tahoe is only an hour away. Also, there is a Tesla Supercharger about 5 minutes from Ponderosa Ridge.
Every morning was a different breakfast, which you have to eat to truly appreciate the love and care gone into every single item. I would stay there again when I’m back in the area.

Bonnie & Bill made our stay so wonderful. Breakfast was AMAZING and so delicious. She was so thoughtful to cook me gluten free options as well. The house is the perfect place to relax with a game room, pool table, and hot tub. Our room was super comfortable as well. Couldn't have asked for a better stay and kinder hosts.

My wife and I had great stay at the Ponderosa Ridge bed & breakfast. Bonnie and Bill were the best host, they were warm and welcoming. Bonnie made the best breakfast and even catered to our gluten free diet. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Apple picking in their orchard and ending the night by the fire were the highlights of our stay. They also gave good recommendations on local places to eat. My wife described our stay as being in a Hallmark movie. We highly recommend Ponderosa Ridge! We plan on coming again.

My wife and I stayed here to get away for our anniversary. Breakfasts were amazing, the rooms are very nice and the hot tub was very relaxing. There is a game room to enjoy with a pool table, dart board and various board games. And the location is nice, being in the heart of Apple Hill.

My first experience at a bed and breakfast and we couldn’t be happier! Bill and Bonnie are amazing hosts and we just loved the property. Very clean and taken care of and going in the spring was so gorgeous with all the flowers blooming. You can’t beat the game room upstairs to relax and hang out and also the incredible indoor hot tub.. we will definitely be coming back! We were celebrating my birthday and they really made me feel special. Thanks again Bonnie and Bill!!

What a great place to stay on our 25th wedding anniversary get away! We had never stayed at a Bed & Breakfast before and did not know what to expect. Ponderosa Ridge has set a high bar for any other B&B we stay at. Really loved sitting and relaxing on the rap around porch. Nothing like having a hearty breakfast to start your day. Bonnie makes a fantastic breakfast. Bill is knowledgeable about the Apple Hill area. Bonnie & Bill are outstanding at making their guest feel at home. Highly Recommend this place to stay.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in the Western suite at Ponderosa Ridge Bed and Breakfast this last weekend. The accommodations were fabulous! Newly renovated, clean, comfortable suite with nicely decorated finishes. The attention to detail by the owners was impressive. We were pleasantly greeted by the owners and instantly felt like old friends. The amenities included: game room, wrap-around porch, private Jacuzzi, and eleven-acres of apple orchard -- what a treat!
The location is perfect, minutes away from Abel's Orchard and many other Apple Hill destinations.

What a great place to stay! The hosts welcomed us and gave plenty of good advice where to go and what to do. We stayed 3 days and each breakfast was delicious! Pristine room, cozy/comfortable bed, thick/fluffy towels, and drinking wine on the deck overlooking the beautiful property made our vacation one of the best. Our thanks to the hosts Bill and Bonnie.

We had such a lovely time at Ponderosa Ridge. Bill and Bonnie were absolutely fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. The grounds and home were beautiful and immaculate. The atmosphere was relaxing and the perfect weekend getaway. Bill and Bonnie had great suggestions for places near by to explore and made sure to accommodate anything they could. We absolutely loved our stay and will be returning again.

This B&B is SO NICE! We loved 💗it!! Bonnie and Bill are so sweet and respectful and they are the greatest cooks. Breakfast was DELICIOUS 😋.
Wine was offered the evening before and the game room was great! We loved hanging out there. All the privacy you need. The acres are beautiful and the bed is so comfy. Wonderful!!

Bonnie and Bill have created a relaxing and comfortable Bed & Breakfast in the beautiful 11 acre wooded area of Apple Hill, near Placerville. Since there are only 3 rooms that can be booked (one is set up for dogs!), it is a quiet and gorgeous place to unwind. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are well-supplied with anything you'd possibly need - including comfy robes should you use the hot tub off the deck.
Bonnie is an excellent cook as well, and the delicious breakfasts my husband and I had while there rivaled any local breakfast spot. She and Bill are very hospitable and do their best to provide anything you might need. It's so nice to see a couple make their dream come true and create heir own unique B&B - they are so friendly and I feel we made a couple of new friends. We'd definitely stay there again and highly recommended for a get-away while you're in the Placerville area or as a stop on the way to Lake Tahoe!

This place is amazing. The owners are super awesome and they make a great breakfast!! We spent the night at the resort to celebrate my fiancés birthday. The grounds are beautiful, the room was very nice (updated fixtures in bathroom and a spa shower) and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The romantic sitting room includes a fireplace, wine and comfortable couches that were perfect for cuddling after getting out of the hot tub which was excellent for relaxing and sipping champagne after picking apples just a few steps away. The owners had decorated our room which included a wonderful bottle of champagne and chocolates! We hated to leave and cannot wait to go back! Next time we will have to take advantage of the pool table in the game room!

My first visit to Ponderosa Ridge but certainly NOT my last. We're planning to make it an annual weekend event. The grounds are secluded yet near to many winery, orchards and Placerville 'downtown' options with shops and restaurants a short drive away. Breakfast was healthy and satisfying with some interesting specialties. The fluffy apple pancake was spectacular with home grown fresh apples just off the trees!
Both Bonnie Kelley and Bill Orrock are marvelous hosts. Very attentive friendly and capable. Loved the show and large bathroom. Thank you both!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ponderosa Ridge! Bill and Bonnie took very well care of us - the breakfasts were delicious. We stayed in "The Rover Room" with our "Hana" - Portuguese Water Dog and she enjoyed the stay very much too. Lots of hiking trails close by - perfect for dog owners.

Bonnie and Bill are perfect hosts! Welcoming and ready to make stay as lovely as the beautiful accommodations! Breakfast was excellent and cooked to perfection! The property is sparkling clean, rooms delightful and every detail attended to! Don’t miss this one! My second stay here! Top tier!

We just returned from a really fun night and a couple of days at the Ponderosa Ridge B&B in Placerville on Apple Hill. This is a very timely review because it’s “Apple Season” right now. They live on 11 acres, several of which are covered in almost every variety of apple that you can imagine. They give their guests a cute big bag and they take you out apple picking!! Oh my gosh, we came home loaded with apples so I’m going to be busy making pies, etc.
The Inn is charming with three great guest rooms each with its own lovely bathroom. They serve wine in the evenings and a wonderful country breakfast.
The property is filled with the most gorgeous assortment of trees, but also azaleas, Japanese maples and much much more. I could never do the description justice so you’ll just need to go for a walk along all the winding paths and see for yourself!
Let’s see, what have I left out... oh yes, there is a wraparound porch with rocking chairs and a beautiful private hot tub in a gazebo.
It’s so quiet and peaceful and perfect place to relax and regroup. One more thing, there are several wineries in the area for tastings and it’s only minutes from all the great restaurants.
The owners are lovely people and so accommodating, I promise that you’ll never be disappointed if you decide to go.

We will definitely stay here again! The whole place is very comfortable and clean. The best I've seen! The breakfast is excellent, and it is close to dining, wine tasting, and Apple Hill. There is also a brand new hot tub, game room, and living room area to enjoy. This is one of the best rooms I've ever stayed as well. We stayed in the Western Room. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast for your get away!
