Thai Unique

This was really delicious. I went around 5pm and they weren't too busy. The service was great. There were some interesting menu items. I ordered Chicken Mango Curry (which included a generous portion of jasmine rice), Garlic Shrimp, and chicken Pad Thai. I was particularly impressed with the fresh garlic sauce on the shrimp. Really amazing flavor. I thought the prices were reasonable for Thai food and I'd definitely go back again!

This is one of the best Thai places I have been too. Located right next to Apple Hill we happened to spot it when trying to take a shortcut. Weston our server was so attentive. He knew everything about the menu. The food is priced very right and when the food came it looked and tasted amazing. The restrooms were very clean and overall the parking and ambiance is second to none. Highly recommend this place to anyone!

Hands down best Thai food I've ever had. I'm somewhat of a green curry connoisseur and theirs with seafood is perfection. They give generous portions so plan to be enjoying it for a few meals, score! They use authentic, real ingredients.

We discovered this little gem on accident a few years ago and been coming here ever since. The food is phenomenal. Authentic DELICIOUS Thai food. The service could use some help as it's new kids every time we come, but the food more than makes up for it. If you enjoy Thai food or want to give it a try, do not sleep on this place!

We love this place! Everything was great- service, atmosphere, the food, and the price is very reasonable for the quality. And there are many vegan (/turned into vegan) options ♡
We had the fresh spring rolls, thai tea (with coconut milk), excellent tom kha soup, and very good evil jungle noodles. Second time i came i had an excellent pad eggplant and an excellent pumpkin curry.
Everytging very tasty, and the tom kha is ine of the best we ate
Make sure to ask to have it all without fish sauce.
There are some specials in a sign at the entrance that is easy to miss so pay attention...

Had the cashew nut chicken - very balanced flavor and I was pleasantly surprised at how tender the chicken was, will be coming back 👌🏻

What can I say, we love this place. We've been coming here for almost 10 years. It's nice to have good Thai food around, especially moving up to pville from sac where the options are bountiful.

This is the 1st time we dined here. The food was delicious and the wait staff was very nice, attentive and polite.

A friend and myself had just eaten here yesterday.. it was my very first time trying Thai food and can i say wow am impressed. We entered & the staff is so very sweet & polite and the calmness of the place made me feel like we were at home. The food here is outstanding! I was happy to see the prices are also very reasonable with a vast selection of options for just about every diet. Will be coming here again =)

I loved dining here. It looks so pretty inside and the waiters were very sweet. The food was outstanding, flavorful and fresh. We had the fried banana with coconut ice cream for dessert and it finished off the meal perfectly. I can't wait to try some more of their food !

I found this place last Monday. I was very impressed with everything. I ordered yellow shrimp curry with egg plant and rice. I also got a side of egg rolls. I got alot of food. Fantastic flavor and real fresh. I'm coming back next time I'm in Placerville.

This place is amazing inside, beautiful and elegant.
The food is full of flavors, family portions and the service is great. I've had Thai food several times and this is definitely on my top 3 choices now. Didn't take pictures before digging in with the family but I will next time.

Highly recommend starting with the fresh rolls appetizer and the golden seafood special as your main. Finish it off with some deep fried bananas and coconut ice-cream and you'll be in food coma heaven.

Because so many people love this restaurant, if you go at rush hour, you may wait about 45 minutes for your food. I promise you, its worth the wait. Easily remedied by ordering an appetizer!

All the servers are accommodating and attentive, Especially Ann, Apple and Weston.

Delicious food wonderful service. My family and I will be eating here very often.

Update: (28 Dec 2022) My family and I went to Thai Unique for dinner and they were down a cook so food was super delayed. Bottom line: the food is well worth the wait.

(Written 4 years ago) I travel around a lot for work and I've been fortunate enough to visit Thailand. Thai Unique is spot on Thai food. Anytime I'm in town or near town I will make the trip to eat at Thai Unique. The only downside I've heard people complain about is the service being slow. I rather enjoy taking my time when I eat great food. I'm also used to different cultures having different standards for customer service so a bit slow for food service is no big deal to me for great food.

Elie, our server, was fantastic. She was welcoming and had the best attitude. Got our food out in timely fashion and any alterations to our food was done with ease and a good attitude. Asked her a million questions and she answered them thoughtfully and thoroughly. Will definitely be coming back to experience her top tier customer service again🙌

I posted here a couple of years ago and the food has not changed. It's OUTSTANDING. We just had yet another excellent meal tonight. Pad Thai and Pla Sam Rod (fish). The sauces were just right, the chicken and shrimp fresh and the helpings generous. Highly recommend.

The staff there is so nice every time we go there. The food is amazing, the Crab Fried Rice and the Phad Thai are amazing dishes as well as the curries. Good service and it is usually nice and peaceful in there.
