Placerville Public House - Family Restaurant & Pub

This historic pub restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and amicable. The dishes were flavorful and hearty. We enjoyed this fantastic meal before our hike to Gilmore Lake. It's a prime spot for provisions and a delightful experience in a quaint town near Lake Tahoe.

This made for a great stop while passing through Placerville on the way to Lake Tahoe.

Being on the main strip was convenient, and the pet friendly front outdoor eating area was perfect for my furry companion.

I had the BBQ tacos which were delicious and my server, Tyson, did a great job.

Also, there is nearby motorcycle parking and that's always a plus for us.

The menu here is phenomenal. The chef is a genius. I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes in ecstasy so much over a veggie pasta in my life. I'm coming back for the appetizers for real because just reading them knocked my socks off. My friend got the stew and the layers of flavor were unbelievable. The cook/chef is a pure genius. I've never felt so satisfied by food in my life. We also got the apple flat dessert which was absolutely mouth watering. My son ate the kids veggie pizza and he's 5, and I was shocked when he finished the whole thing, he's usually a picky eater! So satisfied, thank you thank you thank you. Such a great atmosphere and the best staff.

Cute little spot in Placerville, owner operated and nice menu. Not shown in the pictures was an amazing wedge salad that we split. It was so big we could have shared half of one, every bite was delicious. Crisp fresh iceberg lettuce with homemade blue cheese dressing . Bacon crumbles. It's a yummy great starter.
Hubby had Fish n chips fried perfectly and fresh, and the Tarter sauce is housemade and quite delicious. The Special was a PB&J burger w/ habanero jelly ,peanut butter, fried onions strings, bacon, and cheddar(?)cheese . I had chosen sweet potato fries nom nom. The burger & bacon was a bit on the well side for me but lots of people like it cooked that way , I just prefer a medium on a burger & will ask for it next time I come. Which i hope we will soon the staff is very friendly and more yummy things to try on the menu next time we are in Placerville.

Really nice open seating, country atmosphere - casual. We shared the Southwest Chicken salad and a 10" pizza (Rita I think). Both were excellent. Perfect combination for a couple to share. Portions were large, and the price was reasonable (although the price of drinks seemed a little high). Restaurant is very clean (including restrooms), and the service was excellent. Would difinately recommend.

Have to give five stars across the board on this one; the appetizers and entrees are super 👍 good. Draft craft or bottled domestic which I always appreciate. But the location and atmosphere is the icing on the cake at this place. Literally a 150 YO building, (probably haunted), and a full deck of cards at every table. If you are seeking good food, and authentic DT Placerville gold rush atmosphere, this is the place!

Love this place and recommend to patronize this business! We come here for drinks and always have good time here. Bar tenders are always super helpful, the tap/ draft beer selections are good. Enjoy the weekend live music too!

Crazy delicious lunch. All three of us were in food heaven. Chip nachos, taco salad and corn beef flat bread. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Gorgeous restaurant, great service ans amazing food!!!

My daughters & I come here 3-4 times per month. Anna (the bartender/server) always goes above & beyond to see that we are satisfied with our food. The crab cakes are BOMB, the tacos are a must and the hot dogs are humongous. They even have a few vegan options which my oldest daughter digs the Solstice Tacos (yum)... They leave a deck of cards on the tables so we can play games while we wait for our food. Great atmosphere, very welcoming down to earth staff & delicious eats! Haven't tried the beer but some of the names are pretty cool. They have gained us as regulars for sure!

Wow!! Great service, food and beer! Now has safe tables outside right in center square in downtown. Often there is live music and so atmosphere! Loved the pepper pork and giant hot dog

Favorite spot on main st. Lots of beer selections in a can and good taps. They change the menu each season and I have been a fan of them all. Good happy hour deals on food too

Carnitas tacos and a nice cold beer made for a great break from the heat. Plenty of historic charm here. I'll be back soon to check out some other things from the menu.

Great beer selection and tasty food in the heart of Placerville. I ordered the curry bowl, and the Solstice tacos, both of which were delicious.

Solid food, good selection of wines, both local and regional, and plenty of brews on tap! Modern pub fare in a well renovated historic space. Wide open dining space boarded with large windows looking onto historic Main St Placerville. Lively night environment with live music and energetic crowd. Will return for more!

I ordered the Little Pig and it was bomb. The service was excellent. All other food was delicious too.
