John and Nancy have helped me navigate one of the most awful experiences I've gone through as a parent. They listened to me when I was upset and I feel worked hard for what I felt was right. I'm very thankful and happy I have their support.

No one enters a law office in high spirits, but in my particular situation the unknown made feel doomed.
My experience with John was absolutely great and he helped ease my mind. I felt he was quick to the point and very clear with different outcomes for my scenario and he had a plan that made sense. He often took my emotions into consideration and gave me great advice for dealing with future problems that is still helping me today.

Do not mistake confidence for arrogance! John is confident. If you want confidence and realistic advice, hire John. Why would anyone want a mealy mouse attorney?

In addition, John's decorum and respect with the Judge on my case was professional yet personal and surely contributed to a great solution for my case.

I'll bet you any sum that my ex-wife is the most difficult woman on planet earth... John did a fantastic job with an impossible woman. We averted court with John's excellent negotiation with opposing parties, and in pre-trial conferences before judges. John has the perfect combination of practical and technical counsel. I would trust John with your family matters... he did a fantastic job for me. John was able to show opposing counsel and my ex-wife, that their case was frivolous and that settling was best. Thanks so much John!

My boyfriend retained John Hughes for his custody hearing as limited scope representation. John went above and beyond spending time making certain my bf knew what was to be expected. With children involved, it truly creates an enormous about of added stress and anxiety. John had the best interest of the children in mind the whole time! Should there be more hearings in the future- he will be most definitely the family law attorney we will go with!

The Judges in El Dorado County do not dislike John Hughes. That simply is not true. No one is qualified nor should they speak for the Judges of El Dorado County. Mr. Hughes often prevails in Court. No ever wins in family.law.

I find Mr Hughes to be compassionate, professional and responsive. He is a Certified Family Law Specialist, which is rare in El Dorado County.

John's advice was practical and reflected a deep understanding of the processes involved in coming to a satisfactory resolution. I appreciated his clarity of explanations and addressing my questions.

Very negligent and uneducated on the laws in his surrounding counties. Hired him for a family law issue. Spent 15gs and wasnt even able to get a court date. In his billing log he will try and charge you thousand dollars for writing an email of no importance. Bill's you for gossip he likes to talk about his current and former clients..called me on a fluke after paying him ofcourse to tell me he cant even open videos on the computer stating "he is old and technology challenged." Then later called and said he needed time off because he was busy getting in physical altercations at the Carl's Jr. With there employees at the drive thru line. Had the time and ability to send me pictures of the fight.Will state how much he cares. But his actions will quickly show he only wants his money. One of the most incompetent and untrustworthy lawyers I seen in my experience.

Extremely arrogant unskilled and not a respected attorney. He will take your money and give you lots of false hope while performing very poorly during trial. Just because he is expensive does not mean he is able to perform. I suggest you skip him and try plenty of other well respected attorneys in the area.

The Judges in Eldorado County DO NOT LIKE John Hughes.. Use another Attorney....
