Went in looking and found great deal on an antique solid oak dresser yesterday and the owner who’s as cool as can be knocked of 40 bucks, cool store cool stuff, the owners is also a guitar player and grew up with all the great artists of the 1960s and 1970s so we got along great, I’ll be going back to pickup a nice set of vintage wooden skis this week as you can’t beat the prices, and I like a proprietor who plays guitar, great store and it’s been there a long time. Nice variety of Antiques and reasonable.

This store is the gem of Placerville and the owner Andy is the rarest item in the store. If you’re in Placerville you have to go. You’re sure to find something you won’t find anywhere else.

Great selection of items for sale. Excellent customer service. Take pictures of the items for sale and if possible, the proprietor. He loves it!

Unfortunately, I can not give this store zero stars. I must give a star to review. The owner is a jerk. Not a word I typically use. My girlfriends and I were meandering in the store. He was complaining heavily to an older woman about something that sounded personal. He was gruff, rude, disrespectful, and downright ugly. He snapped rudely. "That is closed" at two of my friends that were going to walk into the back room. Lights were off, I assumed that the bulb burned out. Nope. As we left the store slowly, I wanted to hear what else he had to say. Another female asked if it would open up, and he said, "In ten minutes." Before I made it out the door, I had a gut feeling that he had already turned the light on in the back. He did, I took a gander as I was standing outside of the front window. I don't feel what he has is necessarily antiques, a lot of peoples junk. But sometimes you find a green in all of that. Not here, I would never give this business a dime. It is too bad that Placerville allows this behavior, downtown or any other location. P'ville gets a lot of tourist money..... this needs to be addressed. I have read other reviews, too bad I had not read before walking downtown. He is a despicable human.

The owner Andy is a horrible man. My children who are young teens are enthusiast of vintage items. My one son was waiting to ask a price of an item when a lady moved backwards causing my son to step backing knocking over a picture frame. No harm done but he yelled at my son to get the hell out of his store along with other things. I questioned the band behavior but then I told my family let’s leave as we did a customer chased us down apologizing saying she would never support this business and couldn’t believe what she witnessed . She then asked if my other son was special needs and said he was mocking my child who has autism and told him to leave. I didn’t know this at the time So I went back in and gave him and earful. I was in tears to think he had humiliated both my sweet boys for no reason and on Mother’s Day of all days. Talked to other businesses owners and they told me that he has a reputation to insult and belittle kids and woman in his store. Even as far as referring to some people as jungle monkey. Placerville and neighboring business along with customers should not be subjected to this form of abuse. I too am a business owner in a historic district and I can’t believe Placerville historic district association would allow this man to still have a business there after the many complaints I’ve seen reported after this incident.

The guy who runs this store is so incredibly rude I don’t know how he’s still in business. You’d think he’d know some customer service -being over middle age, but nope. Also, the store is incredibly dirty and stinky, I love antiques and know some “smell” but seriously, smells like a puddle of mud in there.

The old guy that runs this place is an awful human. Yelled at me and mocked an autistic kid for bumping into the junk he put lying on the floor. Have a terrible day, crazy Andy.

My wife and I were visiting Placerville today, and stopped into this shop on our way out of town this afternoon. Within 2 minutes, the man running the place (I'll assume it's the owner) had made a comment to another patron about how he couldn't say a specific antisemitic statement anymore as it wasn't PC. My wife didn't hear it, but I did. I was surprised, but shrugged it off (I shouldn't have.) My wife had selected a small purchase, and we walked towards the counter. The owner asked us where we were from, and when we told him Bay Area, he began to comment about a trip he took out here, and how he witnessed a car hanging off the Carquinez Bridge. His exact next statement was, "I bet it was one of those 'Jungle Monkeys' out for a joy ride." My wife is Mexican American, and obviously Latina by her complexion. We immediately felt angry and uncomfortable, and left without purchasing anything. I wanted to call this man out, but for all I knew, he could have pulled a gun on us as it was his own establishment.

He's either so blatantly racist that he doesn't realize what he's saying, or he he's so racist that he didn't want my wife to spend any money with his establishment.

Stay far away from this place.

Owner was so freakin rude! We didn't even make it 5ft in the store and he raised his voice and demanded I keep my kid next to me. She was right beside me the entire time. We turned around and left. It was extremely unnecessary for him to speak to us that way. So many other great shops in Placerville besides this dump.

Very rude. It was not the first time he was rude to is and others. We have bought from him a few times but after today no more. We were just downtown shopping and we said we were just looking and he says go to Wal-Mart, you can shop for free all day. Was all I could do to keep from going off on him. Don't shop there. There are to many good shops you can go to without being insulted.

Interesting selection, but terrible service. There was no greeting, no thank you, and the man at the counter accused my son of moving a piece of merchandise, which my son denied with his older sister's full supoort. Without asking, the man repeatedlt insisted my son go and retrieve the item. No please, no explanation; only rudeness.

Whether or not my son relocated the mercy, the approach was grossly inaporopriate. Absolutely our last visit.

There is no wheelchair access. The owner was extremely rude! Watched us at every turn. Accused my daughter of having too large a purse, as though she was going to steal! Items were way over priced! Just a very rude experience. We will NEVER return!!!!!!
