Had lunch at Helwig Winery in Amador County. Beautiful day for a great lunch on their patio. Parmesan Chicken Sandwich and a Caramelized Onion & Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwich, both came with seasoned fries and fry sauce...everything was delicious!

We had a fantastic experience! The wine is awesome. The employees (wine servers) were amazing! Very educated, personable. We also bought a clock for our house. We are so excited to hang it in our house. We have been searching for the right clock and ended up finding it here. Thank you for an awesome experience, and the views are beautiful!

Beautiful drive. You forget how many cool things there are to do in Sacramento. Had a lovely lunch outside and some fantastic wine. Plus all the staff were so nice and helpful. Totally recommend it. Just a great afternoon.

We've been members here for a few years and find it to be a sweet spot of palatable wines, location, and grounds in Amador. The Roundup Red (also Dusty Trail) here was our go-to table wine for a while until we discovered we could buy barrels from Napa for about the same price. The members selections were somewhat hit or miss but we enjoyed the diversity and you can readily switch out any wines you don't like for anything else. They offer case discounts and the staff are always friendly (we always look for Lewis).

I was skeptical about this place considering the drive out but they did not disappoint. The wine was phenomenal and the service even more so. Noah was an absolute treat during our tasting, the food was fantastic and the place has views for days! 10/10, highly recommend. I will not only return but I look forward to doing so.

The most amazing fun time. We scheduled a cave tasting with 4 couples. Jack had us in stitches. We so enjoyed the food by Taylor was off the hook.

My daughter had an amazing wedding at Helwig last month. It was so wonderful to have the entire venue to ourselves. The view is absolutely stunning and the staff is great. The wedding coordinator, Kathleen was a joy to work with along with Bill & Cheryl who did an outstanding job catering the event. We are so glad we are wine club members so we can go back and reminisce about that beautiful day!

Attended a fundraising event here. Beautiful setting, nice amphitheatre with spectacular vineyard and sunset views. Beautifully landscaped, well kept clean facilities.

Friday, 7/07/2023 - My GFs and I checked out Helwig Vineyards & Winery. Address is 11555 Shenandoah Rd, Plymouth, CA 95669. Upon arrival...

Pros
1) plenty of parking. When you drive up to the building, go to the right parking lot. The left parking lot is for staffs.
2) Beautiful winery!! Staffs were very nice.
3) the back is breath taking.
4) apparently they have a wine cellar below they open up sometimes for members. But it wasn't open when we went. I heard that it's pretty awesome to go down there.
5) they have a full menu you can order food. We didn't order foods.
6) wine tasting is like $10ish per person. I don't drink. But that's what my GFs said.
7) winery is very clean.
8) bathroom was very clean.
9) lots of areas for photos
10) wines were ok. None of my GFs bought any wine here.

Cons
1) none

Conclusion
Beautiful winery. Lots of outside seating. Staffs were very nice. Lots of beautiful areas to take photos. Plenty of parking when we arrived. Clean winery.

The only winery in Amador where we really liked everything they poured. A lot of that had to do with Layla, who was the PERFECT rep for the winery. She listened to what we preferred, then modified our tasting menu based on that. She was beyind helpful, steering us to varietals that suited us. Thank you, Layla!! Beyond a nice tasting room, the grounds at Helwig are gorgeous, with lots of room to sit on a nice patio. Lunch (burgers for us) was also very good.

Loved my wine tasting on Saturday. Layla asked questions and probed to learn more about my tastes and provided a personalized tasting experience. She was patient, shared information about the wines, the aging process and variety of wines offered. I left feeling very satisfied and lugged wine to the truck! Thank you Layla!

The location boasts a stunning view. Their manager and staff are both professional and friendly. Moreover, they offer an excellent selection of wines.
