Rockin' M Ranch Cabin Rentals, Horseback Rides & Fly Fishing Guides

We didn’t stay here, just did an hour-long horseback ride. We were scheduled to do a ride in Yellowstone, but due to extreme weather on the trail, they cancelled all rides on the trail for the rest of the year just a day before our visit. Thankfully Rockin’ M Ranch was able to get us into a last minute horseback ride in Alpine so we didn’t miss a thing! This was even better than Yellowstone rides because it was earlier, and it was just us on the trail the whole time.

Our wrangler Tassie was helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The horses were beautiful and the saddles comfortable. The one-hour ride has a great up-close view of the Salt River and the Misty mountains surrounding Alpine & the Star Valley. We had a rainy ride, but we’re grateful the wranglers here aren’t scared of a little rain and we were still able to ride & even see a fox. We will come here again!

We had the best time staying here. The staff and family were fantastic. We did a trail ride and the horses were very well mannered. Our cabin was beautiful and clean. The setting is gorgeous. I 200% recommend Rockin M Ranch.

We were incredibly impressed with the staff, particularly Blake, our fishing guide, and Rye, one of the trail guides. Their hospitality skills were top-notch, and they went out of their way to provide us with suggestions and helpful information.

The cabins were well decorated and boasted high-quality finishes, including tongue and groove wood paneling and stone and wood floors. It was evident that the staff and owners had put a lot of effort into maintaining the property; it exceeded the expectations set by the pictures.

The location right on the Salt River, close to Alpine and Jackson, Wyoming, was incredibly convenient and offered great views.

We drove from Jackson hole, which is roughly an hour and did not regret it one bit. Me and my wife were not very experienced horse riders but when we got there the staff and the horses were great. Beautiful ride up the mountain side and we had a great guide! Not to mention the price is very affordable for what your getting. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. We went on a 2 hour ride but there are other options available. The woman that owns the business answered the phone when no one else would. Thank y'all so much!

We booked the 3 hr barbecue ride and absolutely loved it. Reese (guide) was very friendly and attentive to any and all needs. The horses were great, and the scenery was beautiful. Will definitely book again next time we're here. Give Rob a call to book your ride.

Great service and a fair price for horseback riding. I took the whole family - including 3 kids (youngest 6) and our wrangler was extremely patient and kind throughout the ride. It was a blast - and the 2 hour ride was beautiful. Highly recommend.

We are visiting from WI and decided to go horseback riding. Our group ranged from 16 to 82 years old. They did a great job and matched us up to the best horses. We did the 2 hour trail ride. Lexie was an amazing guide! She is very experienced and knowledgeable. Thanks for helping us to create great memories.

We only booked the 1/2 day of horseback riding. Would highly recommend this. The ride was great, and the guide was very professional and attentive to all his riders safety.

Could not ask for better. The cabins are fantastic. The location is very convenient to stores and supplies but feels quiet and away from it all. A bit of a drive to the parks but away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. Possibly the best is the availability for add-ons. We went fly fishing with an incredible guide (Darin) and had an amazing ride with Tassie.

We had a group of 6 for a trail ride, and it was amazing! They were able to accommodate all of us and made sure to pair us with horse who matched our personalities and experience level. Blake was our guide and I couldn’t recommend him more! He was super helpful in going over a few tips and tricks, and pointing out cool facts/sites through the ride. We even saw a moose! He was super personable and made everyone feel like a friend. We had a 2 hr ride was through a valley, up to a peak to get a good view, take some pictures and on the way down crossed a couple creeks which was very cool! It was absolutely beautiful! Highly recommend!

I stayed in one of the cabins for a week, over 4th of July. The bed was comfy and everything was super clean. Check in was at my convenience, which was great because I ended up not getting there until late at night. I will definitely stay here again if needed!

My kids loved it. The staff was helpful, the horses were great, trail was good. Not the prettiest ride I've ever been on, as a good portion of it parallels the neighboring roads. We finished the ride crossing several streams, which my kids loved. I'm sure my family would enjoy going back for a third time.

We had a great time on our one hour trail ride. Our guides were very helpful and very knowledgeable. It was the perfect mix of terrain and water ways. A beautiful ride with panoramic views of Alpine Valley!!

Just took a 2 hour ride with JT, and I couldn't recommend the ride more. JT is an awesome guide, the horses are all incredibly well behaved and the trail is just incredible. The aspens, and the willows, and the Salt River crossings were the perfect backdrop. Even spotted a young buck on the trail. I'll definitely be back and the price almost makes you feel like a robber baron. Thank you JT and Rockin' M Ranch.

I am a very novice rider with a slight fear of horses Lexie matched me with a gentle giant Buddy who was perfect for me. The ride was so enjoyable with scenic views and great river crossings. We did the 3 hour ride with lunch provided. Not only was she a great trail guide but the burgers were perfectly done. I would recommend Rocking M Ranch to anyone.

The Rockin' M Ranch experience is great. Our guide JT, took my family and I on a 4h horseback ride + fly fishing excursion. The mix of horseback riding and fishing is flexible, and designed to accommodate riders of different skill levels. With young kids and being relatively novice, our ride was pretty tame, which was perfect for us.

The ranch and surrounding property is gorgeous, the horses were well cared for, and JT was a fantastic, family-friendly guide. We all loved the trip, and would recommend it to anyone who digs fishing and horseback riding!

I had such a great time horseback riding at Rockin' M Ranch. We did the river ride which was truly stunning and gorgeous. The trail ride was scenic, relaxing, and quiet. My guide Blake was very friendly and knowledgable. He knew everything about the area, and the horses. My biggest takeaway is that I am from Colorado and have done some horseback riding there, but Rockin' M Ranch does it 10x better. Good job guys next time we are in town we will definitely be going back.

We had a great stay at Rockin' M Ranch, I highly recommend it. My family of 5 very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was comfortable, very nice and well kept. The beds were comfortable and my kids loved sleeping in the loft. The area is peaceful and beautiful, there is some very minor road noise from Hwy 89 but the property is set back just on the banks of the salt river and is in a great location. The grounds are well kept. We started our stay with a 3 hour horse ride up into the mountains, Max our cowboy was fantastic, great with the kids. My kids are old enough that they did not want to be led by a rope around a pin, this is a real ride, up and down mountains, through meadows and trees, it was a blast. The horses were gentle, my 10 year old did great and my 13 and 16 year old loved every min. We did a full day fishing trip with Rob, the conditions were not great due to the large amount of snow runoff and poor water clarity but Rob worked hard for us and we caught fish all day, my son caught the largest cutthroat trout he has ever caught. Great memories and a great place to stay. I hope that we can make our way back.

We stayed for 2 nights in June 2016. We had the 13 yr old boy and his dad go on a fishing trip for 8 hours and the 15 yr old girl and mom on a four hour horseback ride. In both cases the guides were wonderful, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Our experience was great! The fishing trip led to some sunburn despite hats and sunscreen but our son was ready tho go again the next day.
Of course the girls wanted to ride again too. Our ride led us to beautiful views of valleys and mountains along with awesome food. We rode through the salt river too. It was amazing.

The cabin was perfect. Comfortable, clean, and private. It had everything we needed for cooking. We all agree this was the best part of our Wyoming trip.
The only feedback from the fishing trip is the snake river would be better and 4 hours is great too.
