Cayuga County Highway Garage

Called the Cayuga County Highway department about a rotting deer carcass along the side of a County road near our house. They showed up within and hour to take care of the problem. Nice job and thanks. Keep up the good work.....

Inadequate parking at Stryker Homes in Auburn requires that many elderly residents, (including me when I lived there), have to park on one of the hills that boarder the property. Snowplows, instead of pushing the snow away from our cars, pushed several feet of snow, ice, and salt against our cars. We don't own shovels, and most of us would not be physically able to remove the heavy, plowed snow which is half way up our vehicles. Snowplow drivers are able to tip the blades to push the snow either way, and the normal position of the blades would protect the cars and still clear the street, but they choose NOT TO. There is only parking on ONE side of the street, so NOTHING prevents them from showing such a courtesy. This happened year after year, and I can't do the shoveling any more. I'm extremely disappointed in our crews for their lack of caring over the years. To show a bit of compassion would not cost them even a few seconds of time.

Because of this problem, after 15 years as a resident there, I moved, and the issues mentioned are a only a part of the reasons I left. It was so dangerous trying to navigate the hills and icy sidewalks. And when the plows bury my car on the street side and the maintenance guy buried it with the snowblower on the opposite side, it's nearly impossible to use my vehicle when it snows. The maintenance guy could point the snow away from the vehicles to a chain link fence and an empty hillside, but he chooses NOT to.

I could go on about soooo many issues, but now that I'm out of there, why bother.
