Fantastic service, friendly staff! Special thanks to Eric for his customer attention and care! He spent a ton of time with me helping me select and purchase an electric guitar. I’ve played acoustic guitar for over 50 years and owned many acoustics, but never owned an electric guitar Eric was extremely helpful in educating me on the features of the different electrics. Bought a mid-level Paul Reed Smith, and they had it shipped over night from Buffalo. Great service! I like the fact that you deal with professional musicians, incredible knowledge, not just “sales people”. This is now my “go-to” shop for all things music. Many thanks folks!

I’ve been playing guitar for years and had a most wonderful experience on Saturday the 17th feb.I left my house and arrived at the local music store and thought I made it the light was on .I needed a set of strings and I brought the guitar to get the same gauge .I picked up my guitar and pulled at the door it was locked I saw a hand come out and shut the light it was my friends hand.So I said ok ofF to big box I didn’t want to go there on the way I have to pass my favorite music lovers shoppe the light was on I said yah.l went to the door it was open I was in there was no one up front then Jimmy came up and said we closed at 4:00 it was 25 after.he said what did you need I told him I just wanted a set of strings I just wanted the same gauge.l had brought the guitar from him last year . Jimmy said get comfortable I got you we found a set of Godwin strings for my Godin guitar he polished the top , treated the fret board she looks great . I’ve been nervous about doing this the guitar is so nice . Nervous no more l have 5 guitars I’m on my way with three more next week . Excellent service friendly as can be and goes out of his way for all his people if you are looking for a fair and honest true musical experience head for music lovers shoppe . It’s on the way to that place down the road a piece . Worth the stop all day long find out what a music store is supposed to be . A true lover of music . Thank You Thank You Thank You !!!

Best customer service EVER. I have called everywhere in rochester looking for harp strings and with no luck. I called here earlier today looking for them and even though this shop does not seem to carry the strings I need, Paul told me he would be able to find a place that did for me. Not 20 minutes later did I receive a call back from the wonderful Jimmie who asked me details about my harp and then reached out to yet another person to get me connected to where I could find them. I received a text shortly after that with a link his coworker (who plays the harp) recommended. I cannot speak highly enough to how kind the staff is, and how willing they are to help customers. I am seriously impressed with how caring the staff here is and without even walking in the store I can surely attest it is just as wonderful.

Went in to drop of my amp for a repair. Left with a great Bass guitar and 30 watt amp. I asked a lot of questions and this guy had all the answers. The selection at this shop is impressive to say the least. I have my eye on one guitar that I hope lasts until may.Long story short , its a great place and worth the stop.

If you're looking for a cozy, family owned small business to spend your money at for any kind of musical instrument/device you can think of, make sure to stop at Music Lovers Shoppe first. For a small store the variety is impressive. So far I've bought four guitars (an acoustic, classical, electric, and bass), a few mics, a Cajon, and other small miscellaneous instruments/accessories in a little over a year. Before I first visited Music Lovers Shoppe I was a minimalist when it came to instruments and accessories, I only had/wanted the bare minimum, but once you see how well the staff takes care of their instruments/supplies, how knowledgeable they are on all the products, and how they make you feel like a friend or family once you walk through the door, you won't be able to resist filling your studio with new gear. I've also been taking guitar lessons with Matt for about 6 months after being self-taught for five years. I had never considered taking lessons because they always seemed overpriced and unnecessary to learn things I could figure out on my own, but the price for lessons here is super reasonable considering the teachers are all very experienced and professional. Matt especially has been an amazing teacher who has taught me a bunch of new things in such a short time. If you're looking for stringed instruments, brass, woodwinds, keys, pro-audio, percussion, pedals, etc. They'll probably have what you're looking for.

Their guitar setup work is nothing short of wizardry. They made my $90 Strat Copy (bought elsewhere) play and sound like a million bucks. My daughter will be thrilled with her Christmas gift.

This shop is incredible. As a semi-professional musician, its important for me to have guitar dealers that I can trust. I live in TX and they have bent over backwards to help me out. I found a 1999 Ibanez Universe that I have wanted for 16 years and they made me a stupid deal on it just to make a new customer. Afterwards, I found out they were a Paul Reed Smith dealer and I mentioned that I was looking for a Modern Eagle II. After giving them a few details, Jimmy called me back within half an hour with the perfect model that he found for me IN MIAMI ! I can barely get a call back the same day if at all from most guitar stores. Jimmy not only contacted the Miami store for me, spoke with the owner, and confirmed authenticity for me, but he has also acted as middle man assuming all risk in the transaction. I have never had a guitar guy be so excellent with communication and honest business dealings. People always talk about how no one does business the right way anymore and no one cares about the customer. This store DOES. I am a permanent customer and will most likely never set foot inside the store because I am hours and hours away in another state. Thanks Jimmy! Buy your guitars here. IF they don't have it, they will find it for you and still make you walk away feeling good about the deal.

This was my first time going here. A friend recommended them to help with getting my bass restrung. They not only did that, but tuned it up and fixed somethings that needed fixing. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Their prices were reasonable. I will definitely be going back there in the future!

If you are looking for a friendly, helpful music environment, the American Music Centre is the place to go. In all of the Rochester area I have only found the following there: Friendly, helpful, honest treatment. They make you feel like you are the only important thing while you're there.

Jimmie Jam and his staff are top notch in fitting you or your children to a correct instrument and lesson schedule with highly competent Instructors!

I have found their prices to be very comparable, if not less than other musical sources and their knowledge will help you choose exactly the correct item(s) for your specific needs.

Also, let me say that since I picked up the Clarinet again (at the age of 74), I have been taking lessons with them for a year now.

The highly competent Instructors (who are all accomplished musicians in their own right) form an easy rapport with the students, and give more than just a "lesson", they actually teach the instrument, along with the theory (which is indispensable when learning any instrument).

You could not get me to change Instructors or Stores for any amount of money.

I highly recommend the American Music Centre as a music source to all of you.
You will not be disappointed!

Have always had a positive experience coming into the store and welcomed with polite and wonderful greetings. The knowledge that the staff and teachers have is extremely helpful and impressive. Have worked in gigs with former teachers of the store and they are talented performers and treat the students with care and expertise. As for the equipment the prices have always been reasonable and comparable, if not better, than other places. Recommend this place!

Had a set of humbuckers and a full set-up done on a Fender Telecaster. I had a terrific experience, fair pricing and the delivery of one “HOT” Tele. Jimmie was a pleasure to deal with... knowledgeable and friendly. Love their selection of products and some great PRS guitars (my next purchase). Going to take what I’ve learned on the guitar and add some lessons the shop offers. This will be my go to dealer for a long time to come. Simply the best! I’ve also been using the shop for set-ups… Greg is the best luthier I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

This is the only place I would bring my guitars to. Fair pricing and outstanding work. These guys have become friends. Such a pleasure to work with. DO IT… don’t hesitate!

Music Lover’s Shoppe is awesome! Bought a PRS MT-15 and matching cabinet and it’s killer! Jimmy did a great job selling two of my guitars for a partial trade in. Loved doing business with him and would definitely recommend him if looking to purchase an instrument or amplifier from a local music store. It was a great experience

Great store! Very knowledgeable staff and instructors. In a short period of time they got me to point where people no longer wanted to pay me to stop playing! They actually ask me to pick up the guitar and play them a tune. Would and have recommended the store to others.

Brought my bass amp in as I was getting some fuzzy noise from one of the speakers. Matt plugged it in, twisted the gain and volume knobs a bunch (they were causing some fuzz). Eventually that stopped. My bass amp sounded perfect again. Matt and the other employee were super friendly (Even though I didn’t end up paying or buying anything). I will absolutely come back for any repair services in the future

My daughter has been taking lessons for over a year now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The teachers she has had are knowledgeable and are able to handle kids at their worst. The director Jimmie is very personable and makes you feel very welcome, like your part of a family!! I love it here!!

I have not actually been here unfortunately as I live in England but I have just watched a video on YouTube and saw what can only be described as the nicest shop keeper ever! And he works here! The video is by a Jon Dretto, and he pretends to be a beginner but then shreds, its worth checking out and you get to see inside a pretty descent family business like we used to see in towns everywhere.

I would like to Thank Jimmy / Matt for really going over and above to help me today. I had some technical problems with a Pedal board and Matt and Jimmy really came through for me. Matt knew exactly how to set this board up correctly and did it with a smile, "THIS GUY CAN SHRED BTW" Every time I go in the store they provide great service with a genuine smile.

I have been going to AMC for eight years now and ever since they have made me feel part of the family. The owner and all of the teachers have not only further inspired me to become a musician, but also connected with me at a personal level, and have become some of my greatest friends. Out of any other music school out there I would say I would've never had the wonderful experience that I had at AMC. And through there private lessons and excellent teachers I have benefitted in my skills as a musician at an immense level. Out of any other music school, AMC will always be my go to. I want to thank everyone at the school for everything they have done for me, and I would recommend this store to anyone else.
