Numbutts Moped and Bike Rentals

Affordable prices, the host is friendly and great person to talk to. Mopeds were not that great, but my wife and I had fun riding those. Do expect to have numb butts after riding the moped for an hour or two😜

Do not buy your dune flags here. I purchased mine and within 2 uses the orange flag flew off. I was stopped by the Conservation officers on the dunes and given a warning for no flag. I returned to the store to hopefully exchange the upper portion with the flag, 2 of the employees actually remembered me (cudos to the employees), but the owner or manager there at first denied the flag even being theirs, then when the employees remembered me, she said she would sell me a replacement flag and glue it on for $8. It's unbelievable that the less than 1 foot square orange vinyl flag is over 1/3 the total price of the whole set-up! Dune flags are sold everywhere in Mears... go somewhere else to buy yours.

My friends and I were enjoying leisurely weekend at the lake house with the hope of renting of mopeds. We showed up excited and happy and filled out the forms required. We were informed that there was a quick instructional test. Since we were relatively inexperienced with mopeds, we welcomed the chance to become more familiar before we rode them. Little did we know that the test was purely subjective. He told us NO OFF-ROADING yet for the test we had to ride in a slightly bumpy small grass lot that was not large enough to properly conduct the test. My friend completed it flawlessly and yet the numbutts employee had him perform again. Upon slightly messing up he was informed that he was banned from renting mopeds. After a less than great instructional session and an unfair test it is fair to say we are LIVID. We wasted an entire afternoon for a cigarette smoking employee to tell us that we cannot rent. We will take our business elsewhere and we recommend you do to.

After speaking with the owner to rent 4 mopeds over the course of a week, we set up a time to pick up the mopeds the next day at 9:45. Arriving at the "business" we sat and waited for 45 minutes, along with 2 other families waiting to return bikes who were also told that someone would be there to handle the returned bikes while we were rented our mopeds. After waiting and calling her a couple of times to find out where she was, she finally returned our phone calls and said someone would be there ASAP to help us. 15 minutes later the employee arrived to start filling out the paperwork needed for the mopeds. After it was all said and done, we were then told that she would only accept cash! Who keeps several hundreds of dollars of cash on them? Why didn't she inform us earlier of this arrangement prior to arriving? These are all questions that I cannot answer.

So, the long and the short of it is, after looking forward to riding mopeds that day, we did not rent mopeds from Numbnuts, nor ever will try again! We wasted over an hour of our vacation time trying to spend money to have fun, only to be left pissed off! In my opinion, tThis "business" is doomed to fail and not worth the time and effort trying to help to succeed.
