The moose tour with Tony was fantastic! Tony was an exceptional guide. He was knowledgeable, and fun. We had an amazing time and saw a moose. 10/10 would recommend, worth every penny!

Stayed here for 3 nights during our trip of Maine and it's my favorite place of our whole trip! The rustic barn apartment was beautiful and spacious and Pat and Mike were so friendly! Even though we only saw 1 moose on our sunrise moose spotting trip with Steve, it was not for want of trying. And the canoe trip was beautiful nonetheless. Fishing with Greg was both peaceful and exiting, as we managed to catch two lake trouts and saw a bald eagle! Greg also had some great recommendations for where to go in town, so we had fun that night as well in the Stress free moose. The highlight of our stay was the ATV drive, where we got to explore the area in yet another different way (after the hikes we already did). All in all, great place to stay with amazing activities and friendly people. I definitely want to visit again!

We scheduled the daily moose tour. Everyone was especially kind and went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Instead of 3 hours, we were given an additional hour to our tour. Tim was exceptionally knowledgeable of all things outdoors in Maine. We will definitely return.

Booked a Moose Safari with Steve our guide. We actually saw 5 Moose and Steve definitely knows how and where to find them. All of the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and other places to visit. This was my 2nd time and definitely will be back to visit again from Florida.

A wonderful experience on land and water. Tim was knowledgeable, personable, and professional. We saw several moose, a nesting loon, and several other animals. Tim always had interesting facts and tidbits to add and did all he could to make our experience enjoyable. Well worth the time and money. We would do it again.

We went on a moose safari with Tim and had a fantastic experience! We took a morning trip (more daylight opportunity for photos and for spotting them). He took us out on a lake north of Kokadjo and sure enough, we saw a moose! We got pretty close and were able to just hang for a while and watch him. We also saw a nesting loon which was pretty incredible. Tim was informative and fun. I'd highly recommend it!

We went on a private moose tour. Tim is a great guide. He is very knowledgeable about moose and tells great stories. It is obvious that he knows the area and the best spots. Tim guided us to finally see 4 moose. Three cows and a calf.

We were fortunate to get into Tim’s 5% club. We were part of the 5% to get close enough to a moose to hear her chewing. Using his superhuman spotting abilities he saw a cow in the brush by the road in near dark conditions. We were so close. Great memories and we hope to experience it again soon. Ask for Tim!

Best customer service ever. We rented ATV s and kayaks. Staff was super friendly, we were bit late to return but no complaints at all. They gave us trail maps and tips as we were first timers as ATV rides. Price was same as online rentals.
They also gave us extra life vests with Kayak as we had kids who took turns with us.

Thank you for let us enjoy our vacation and make it memorable. Will definitely go again if we are around

Northwoods Outfitters and specifically guide Tim McCluskey really know the hidden gems in the wilderness. The first time I booked with Tim was spring of ‘21. Within the first :15 of our morning exploration we encountered moose walking along the roads. Tim gets you in close enough proximity while ensuring safety to all and respect to the wildlife. Once we got to our destination, we hopped into a canoe. He paddled while we readied our camera gear. As a photographer himself, Tim knew exactly how to position us for the best lighting possible. Taking into account he’s dealing with wildlife and various lighting conditions, Tim really produces in all aspects of being a professional guide. This is not your average, dry, run of the mill tour. Tim keeps things fun and exciting while giving some insight to the areas visited as well as shares knowledge of the local wildlife. I highly recommend asking for Tim when you book!

We went out on an early Moose land tour sunday with Brandon. Although we were unlucky seeing moose with the heavy morning fog we were very lucky having Brandon as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area , the Moose and their behaviors and all the wildlife . We will definitely try it again next vacation

Had a great time with Jack on our moose safari! We found a huge bull moose not long after leaving land. We loved our guide and felt that he gave us the best experience we could have asked for. Would definitely recommend!

We met up with our guide, Tim McCluskey, and the other five customers at Northwoods Outfitters in Greenville, ME. After introductions, we piled into a big van and headed out to look for moose. Tim drove to about three places where he has often seen moose before, but had no luck. Then he drove to a very shallow pond. There, we unloaded and got issued canoe paddles and life jackets. We walked downhill on a rocky path to where the canoes were stopped, Tim hauled the canoes downhill to the shore and helped everyone get situated. He went through basic canoeing paddling techniques and safety. A couple rode in the canoe with Tim, three gals rode in a second canoe and Kay and I rode in the third canoe. Tim stressed the need to be very quiet to avoid scaring off moose.

We paddled a hundred yards or so and, as we rounded a point, Tim saw some kayakers parked along the opposite shore taking pictures. He understood in context this probably meant that there was a moose further inside the cove and cautioned us to be extra quiet, follow him and get ready to join our kayaks into a raft. As we went past the kayakers, we saw an average sized cow moose (500 pounds) standing nearly shoulders deep in the water and mud eating water vegetation. We eased around in front of her and near the opposite shore from her. She watched us, but was not particularly concerned about us. Tim got us positioned so that all the canoes were parallel to each other and close enough that we could hold them together as a raft. Tim then directed us to back the raft so that the rear of each kayak was in contact with the shore enough that the canoes wouldn’t drift. Everyone was facing the moose which was maybe twenty yards across the water from us.

We sat there for about forty-five minutes watching the moose feed and move around. We all took lots of photos and videos. Tim had some binoculars and passed them around for anyone who wanted to use them, but we were close enough it really wasn’t necessary, even for Kay. Another guide and his canoes arrived a little later and they rafted up near the kayakers.

Tim mentioned that the cow moose probably had a calf nearby and we all watched behind and around her, but never saw one. Eventually the moose had eaten her fill and decided to leave. We expected her to go up the bank behind her and disappear into the woods. Instead she walked across the shallow water almost directly to where the kayakers were. They saw her coming and got out of her way. The moose continued on the land, passing behind us within 25 feet or so and stopped behind some trees and appeared to be calling to her calf. We never saw or heard the calf, but we heard the cow head deeper into the woods and well out of sight. We undid our raft and paddled out into the middle of the pond looking for other moose. We didn’t see any other moose and the sun was low in the horizon, so we headed back to the canoe landing.

Tim landed his canoe first and helped each person get safely and dryly out of the canoe. Then he helped each other canoe land and its occupants get safely and dryly out. Tim hauled the canoes back to their storage location and secured them with a cable and lock. Many of us took photos for each other with Tim. We walked back to the van and turned in our paddles and life jackets and got back in the van.

On the way back to the store, Tim slowed several times to look carefully for other moose or other wildlife, but we didn’t see any. He did stop so we could take beautiful sunset pictures of Moosehead Lake, Maine on the way back. When we got back, the store was closed, but Tim told us where we could eat dinner in town and they had restrooms.

Tim McCluskey was a fun guide, Very professional and knowledgeable.

I attached a moose photo and video, our photo with Tim and the sunset picture of Moosehead Lake.

Enjoyed guided icefishing our first time with Northwoods outfitters. Was a really enjoyable experience. Our guide Addison took us out to his location on the lake to find ice fisherman had moved in on his spot placing tip-ups only a few feet from all his designated spots. Rather than fight with issues all day he contacted one of the other guides who was off that day and arranged to use his location. He was very friendly and informative about icefishing and the local history and geography. We enjoyed our time so much we decided to hire him as our guide snowmobiling. We rented snowmobiles from them and with him covered over 120 miles of trails and visited several interesting locations for a full day of snowmobiling. He was always on the lookout for moose and other wildlife and our safety guiding us around soft-spoken on the lake and ice heave. It was an amazing adventure we will never forget. Thanks Northwoods outfitters!

We had a great time on our very first snowmobile experience and all thanks to Northwood Outfitters for the great service. They took care of us from the registration, to rentals, all the way to the trail. The guys were really helpful and informative as we knew nothing about snowmobiling. They also have a store where you can purchase clothing, shoes, equipments, pretty much anything you can think of (20% off when we were there). Overall, great experience and I recommend renting snowmobiles here!

Our trip was amazing! We saw 6 moose, 3 bulls, 1 cow and a cow with her calf! So awesome and beautiful! Tim Mccluskey was a great guide that helped my rookie canoeing wife and myself stay calm on the water. Boy, can he find the moose!

We spent the morning with our very knowledgeable guide, Jack Sullivan on a moose tour by land and a canoe paddle. Within the first 45 minutes Jack spotted two moose in different locations. Then we proceeded for a canoe paddle on First West Branch Pond and enjoyed dabbling ducks & watched the parents of loons dive for fish and feed their youngsters. Due to Jack’s easy going nature, knowledge of the wilderness, and sense of humor made for the most relaxing peaceful morning for us!! Thank you so much, Jack!

We went on the moose tour this past Wednesday, and I achieve my top bucket list wish!!!! Tim was our guide and he did not disappoint! We started the morning canoeing on a beautiful lake and hit pay dirt right away!! A bull moose was feeding in the shallow marsh area. We were able to get really close and watched him for about an hour!!

Tim was amazing!! I requested him personally because of the great reviews I read on him!! I would defiantly use this company again. They know the area well and know what to look for.
