Uptown Lanes/ Back Alley Bar & Grill

The duck won tons are absolutely amazing! I just came for some quick drinks and apps with a friend while in the area and we were blown away by how cool the place is and how good that appetizer was. Great bar with some really well kept bowling lanes attached right in the heart of downtown with a rooftop bar to boot! What a cool place! Never time I am in the area I will definitely be back!

Tuesday about 1:30, so the place was not busy. Great time to rate food. We both had the Boom Boom Burger with garlic fries. Had a little kick at first, then went away. The Boom Boom Sauce was pretty good, and the fries had a little too much salt for me, but good enough for some. Service was excellent. We will definitely go back, especially when the roof top opens.

There are several bars in Byron, all within several feet of each other. With that said Uptown is the unique one. It has a bowling alley. Also they tend to go off road with their food. The have unique twist on regular restaurant and bar food. They are like the Burger King in the sea of McDonald's. You have to go there at times to break the monotony.

This place keeps getting better. I highly recommend the Salmon sandwich, burgers and lobster nachos! Really everything is good. Definitely not what you expect from.a bowling alley, please don't let that fool you out of trying it out!

Lovely place, had a club meeting here with 25~ people. They had a private room for us and had service the entire time. The food was to die for, highly recommend.

Lots of fun bowling with grandkids. They rent by hour rather than per game. Service was great and food is always top notch.

Food is great! Also the service is super friendly and there is Wednesday night trivia at 7pm

The bartender was SO sweet!!! My son and I went on a one-on-one day and she consistently checked in on, talked to my son like he was a real person, and we had an absolute blast when bowling. The turkey club was one of the best turkey clubs I've had in a long time! 12/10 would absolutely recommend!

If you are in Byron, IL then this should be on your list for a food stop. Awesome atmosphere, exceptional service, and outstanding good. The Pork Tenderloin sandwich is to die for!

We had the Friday night cod fish fry. Supberb! Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside! We ate on the rooftop, and had excellent service from waitress Candace. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend Uptown Lanes for their Friday night fish fry!

Waitress recommended the Avacado Chicken Sandwich on Pretzel bun with a side of Sweet Potatoe Tots and it was amazing!
Husband had wings and he said they were pretty good but he has a few other things he wants to try. And his new favorite beer might be the Lexington Vanilla dark beer.

Had my sons wedding rehearsal dinner there. The staff was awesome. We had pizzas and nacho bar, both were very good.

They hosted a class reunion for us and did a great job. We had some changes throughout the arrangements and they were accommodating and flexible. Their side room was nice and service was good. Overall, great spot to host an event.

Had the fish fry and the chicken avocado sandwich they were fantastic. Their garlic fries were very tasty and a welcome change from the normal. Prices are average. place was spacious lots of different seating options. Definitely on the loud side

Super cool bar/bowling alley, good place for fun family or friend times.

It's our anniversary and we haven't been comfortable eating indoors quite yet so we chose to sit on the rooftop. We weren't entirely sure it was open- lights were off and door was locked. The bartender said it'd be no problem accommodating us if we sat up there which was true. Although they had customers to tend to at the bar and at several tables inside, they made sure we were well taken care of. I was also pleased at their usage of their facemasks. I felt very comfortable eating there. Thank you.

Always a great local experience! The food is delicious and the bowling is fun too. Great atmosphere, and the staff members are always super welcoming. Keep it up, folks!

Passing through Byron and heard this place had a great rooftop. The food was amazing! Our server was Faith, she did a phenomenal job. She was there every time we needed something. We also met one of the owners, Lindsay. She is extremely professional and runs a really fun establishment. Thank you Lindsay and Faith, will be coming back again!

I have to admit, I visited here when they very first opened and while the food was good, it was just typical bar food so I never went out of my way to return. MAN WAS THAT A MISTAKE!! I stopped in tonight because I always wanted to check out their upstairs patio, and I asked for a menu to browse and possibly grab a snack. To my surprise, it was a completely different menu with a ton of excellent options. I went with the Korean tacos (recommended by the bartender) and they were absolutely DELICIOUS! My sister had a pork quesadilla and that was also fantastic. I will 100% be back (I still haven't tried out their bowling alley). I'm just angry with myself for not returning sooner!
