Blackhawk's Trail Lodge

My husband & I spent a few days at Blackhawk's Trail Lodge this spring. What a wonderful little get-away! The rooms are adorable and impeccably clean, decorated with antiques and lots of lovely little touches. The best part was the huge deck, partially enclosed and partially open air. Tons of comfortable seating, including a hanging bed (!!), with beautiful flowers and plants, hummingbirds zipping by, whimsical statues and decorations, a bubbling fountain, and a large variety of birds coming in to the feeders. The owners Dee and Becky treated us like family. We were able to kick back with good books and watch the river go by. When we wanted a little more activity and a meal out, Rockford was a quick 20 minute drive. We are already planning another visit.

I planned a mid-week 3 day trip for 5 couples to meet and it was spectacular! Becky and Dee make you feel like family. It is a unique laid back lodge yet the facility has some thoughtful amenities like multiple areas decorated for lounging and socializing and high quality shower products. I was especially impressed with items like hand made soap and tomatillo sauce created specifically for the lodge. We enjoyed it so much we reserved the space again in August 2023. Becky and Dee were fantastic hosts. The room was impeccable with very nice decor. The bed, linen, EVERYTHING was AMAZING. Definitely will book again when staying in that area.

Aside from a cool riverside location and its quaint clean decor and style, Dee & Becky run a great, clean, very comfortable operation.

Their hospitality, conversation, the fireplace and memories created here are something you do not often find. They facilitate and wonderful stay each time.

Remarkably peaceful, quiet and like home. Located on the banks of the Rock River nearer Byron, than Rockford, IL, on scenic Illinois Route 2, Blackhawk's Trail Lodge is a welcome Oasis. "D" and Becky have made this place their home, and Love making their lodge a home for visitors and annually returning guests from across the country. Go once, and you too will come back!

I want to keep this place as our hidden gem but also they deserve the world to know how great it is! Like staying with family...your quirky Aunt and Uncle! We stay at least once a year and LOVE every minute of it!!

There’s a relaxing, quaint,hospitality at its best, at the Blackhawks Trail Inn. When you walk in, you can feel at home, in the home of Becky and D. I keep going back.

We had a reunion with 8 of us. The owners are super awesome and the rooms are all so comfortable and warm. Definitely worth another trip back some time soon.

This is an absolute wonderful place, stayed there for awhile for work and can not rave enough about Dee &Becky and the lodge, the rooms are very clean, the beds are super comfortable and conversation is always friendly pleasent, I will be coming back and bring my family, so they can enjoy this little slice of paradise.

I stayed there for about 3 weeks while I was working on a bridge in Byron what a great place Becky and De wonderful host and hostess it's been a couple yrs would love to come up in July.

Owners are so friendly and accommodating. They provide everything you need. Beautiful location on the Rock River.

Clean rooms, lots of wildlife, awesome owners, perfect place to recharge your batteries. Stay for a night but spend a week to really enjoy it.

This place is beyond awesome! It is a little piece of paradise on the river away from the city life. I could stay here forever!
