Monroe Income Tax & Accounting

I have been going there every year for the past 4 or 5 years and never had any problems with them. They are the only ones I trust to do my taxes.

I've worked with this company for many years. While there have been some minor issues with employee days off on payroll, billing and other relatively small organizational issues, I can say that there are some very positive things about their services.

1) I was audited by the IRS for 3 years!!! I did (and still do) my taxes and accounting with MIT for many many years. Their accountant (Diane) was physically there with me, and behind me at the audit. She did an incredible job. I passed all three years of review, and there was only $100 they could not account for (IRS). Needless to say, the IRS was happy with my returns, and required NO CHANGES! It was invaluable to have Monroe Income Tax stand behind their work...literally and physically.

2) They try their best to get you the maximum discounts allowed by law. I've tried other places like H&R Block, and they're HORRIBLE at getting you refunds or giving you any advice, no matter what their fancy commercials state, IMHO. Monroe Income saved me $13,000 over what H&R block found..the first year! Their service has paid for its self many times over.

3) They've done an excellent job over the years of advising me when was the appropriate time (financially and legally, etc) to switch from a sole proprietor, to LLC, to now Schedule S Corp. Diane is extremely knowledgeable about the current and future state of the IRS Tax mess...unlike most places that are reactive...she knows in advance so your company can be as prepared as possible; AND they help you to accomplish all the appropriate paperwork for relatively minimal fees.

4) I think many of the problems clients experienced were because MIT went through a period of growth pains. Their business was temporarily overwhelmed, and major changes in tax law required them to attend conferences, update/change software, etc...but this is something that few companies really do! It was a big load on them.....but they still got the job done even when the IRS its self was a mess.

My husband and I have had our taxes prepared here and have been pleased with the service and knowledge of the employees. The price is a bit higher than other places, but to me worth it.

I get my business taxes done here and every time I come in it is a breeze to get things done.

Would definitely recommend to others.

Very clean and professional

We had a bad experience with this company as well. After we received our final copy of our taxes, there were changes made (by the company) and we were not notified. Hence, more was taken out of our account to pay our taxes than we were told would be. Repeated phone calls to the company were greeted with a very kind person at the desk, however, she was unable to answer our questions. An email sent to the company expressing our dissatisfaction went unanswered and repeated requests for the tax preparer to call us back and explain the situation have gone unanswered.

We would NOT recommend this company to anyone. Poor service.

went to the office on dixie highway, the lady had no clue what she was doing, i still havent heard anything about my return, and when i call i get told there is nothing they can do.. I will never use them again and i have told others not to also.

DO NOT make the mistake of using them for income tax prep..

My copies of W-2's are missing, looks like they were given to another customer
3 months later issues have not been corrected
The owner herself has had ample opportunity to correct, doesnt take my calls, cancels last minute to deliver supposed corrected return to me.

Been waiting for my return for a week the IRS deposit it on Monday and still nothing!! They keep giving me the run around about my money!! Saying it will be there tomorrow and never is!! I will not be returning to this place to get my taxes done ever agean!!

My money was sent to my bank 10 days ago and still no money I keep calling them to see where my money is and they keep saying the person that can help me will call me back 4 calls and not a single call back yet will never use this place again
