I went to one company in town and they wouldn't rent me a bike for just two hours. I tried Hometown sports and they didn't even question me. They rented me a bike for just two hours. They were great! We've used them before for many different things, never a bike. But we will be using it for lots more things in the years to come. What is it?

Everyone at Home Town Sports is great. I'd especially like to give a shout-out to Adam (sales) & Kurt (tech). They were exceptionally helpful at guiding me to a great new ski/binding combo. They were fun, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and really educated me in the process. I highly recommend them. I was so impressed I made them a loaf of butternut squash bread just to say thanks. I'm REALLY happy with the skis package they helped me choose.

By far and away the best service I've had regarding shoes. It was a masterclass in how the foot works, brands of shoes and the specifics as to how inserts affect different parts of the foot. They get this knowledge through a certification process that includes podiatrists. My father in law has had problems with his feet for years and this was the first time I've seen him get all of his questions answered.

The store was set up by smoke jumpers a few decades ago. It is family owned and the kids of the founders work in the store.

Great staff (Thank you again Lauren!) and fantastic service. We've been using Home Town Sports for years but now that we've moved out of state only see them on our annual McCall ski trips to Brundage and Tamarack. I was recently in town and wanted to get a pair of skis waxed for the weekend so called to check their availability. Lauren was able to fit me in at 4pm and had them ready for pickup at 8:30am! She even remembered us when we arrived to pick them up. Great shop, friendly, professional service and an extensive selection of top tier product. You can't go wrong here. Highest recommendations.

To paint the picture, I’ve purchased my previous ski boots on the cheap, not anywhere near MSRP. I’ve never been fitted and didn’t realize how important good fitting boots are to ski performance (not just what feels good). I scheduled a fitting time, and the experience was amazing. Dean has been doing a long time. He was very patient, listened to my concerns, answered questions and explained various mechanics of the foot as it pertains to skiing. Based on various measurements, he picked out a few boots and prioritized them for fitting. The second pair I tried on had a good initial fit as soon as I put them on. We decided on them and then the customization started. The heat molding, various mechanical adjustments for my stance and ankle inclination adjustment. Overall, I was very happy with the service, and communication was great throughout the process. The boots are quite a bit more money than I would normally spend on ski boots (not more than MSRP and not more than I was expecting), but the service and customization made the price worth it. The overall fitting was 2 hours. My new boots were a different sole length which required remounting the heels of the bindings on my skis, which they also did for a nominal fee (purchased skis and bindings elsewhere). I would highly recommend Hometown for fitting Ski boots. Their ski shop was knowledgeable, professional and helpful as well.

Lots of great things to say about them, but above all they are masterful ski boot fitters. Not only have they fit ours and our kids boots perfectly, but they also stand behind their fittings by doing free adjustments when you buy your boots there - the most recent one for our 17yo son 2(!) years after we bought the boots. Not sure we’ve experienced customer service like that. We’ll never go anywhere else.

Great crew with exceptional service. Our e-bike wasn’t shifting into each gear. They made a quick adjustment and we were on our way.

Simply the best Outdoor Sporting Goods store you will find. The selection and customer service is excellent. They were able to fit my wife's ski boots perfectly, which was no easy feat ;) Love the quality, selection, and attention to detail. Highly Recommended!

The sales staff is friendly and well versed. You can tell that all of them have used the equipment that they sell and it really helps when I’m unsure about what to get. The boot fitting they do here is better than anywhere in treasure and long valley. Very thorough! I worked in two different ski shops in Boise for 3 years as a tech and in sales. I was extremely impressed by their knowledge and the tunes they did for me were incredible. They also promise single day turn around! When Boise shops are 2 weeks out all season long it’s a pretty awesome deal!

I needed a replacement heel for an older ski boot. After being literally laughed away by other shops in McCall and Boise, the folks at Hometown Sports found the replacement heel, ordered it from Europe, and immediately let me know when it had arrived. All of this was done with a smile and unmatched customer service. I will definitely be a repeat customer and will highly recommend them to others. This is what great customer service looks like. After a lifetime of skiing I finally broke down and bought a new pair of boots and had a professional boot fitting session by Dean Hovdey. If I could give a 10 star rating I would! Hometown Sports, hands down, best service, best price for high quality and precise fitting I could have ever expected. Will update when I get on the slopes this winter😁 🥾

Home Town Sports has always been my go to spot for rentals and purchases of both winter and summer equipment. Not only do they have EVERYTHING at a low price, but they also have a staff of incredibly knowledgeable and passionate folk. Home Town is the place to go whether you’ve been in McCall your whole life, or are passing through to visit Brundage and need some convenient and affordable rentals. Also, shoutout to Adam who hooked me up with the coolest and most comfortable pairs of skis and Caleb who fitted me with the best boots. Cheers!

These guys are awesome. Super knowledgable staff that actually uses the equipment and products they sell. One of the best specialty ski shops in the business. The Hovdey family is great and cares to help you have the most outdoor fun you possibly can. The have a dedicated staff of experts.

Had many 20x4 tubes on the shelf that were a tough find. Over the top level 10 service, quick in & out fixed. Tube of as $15, change was $15 on my ebike with a complicated rear setup I have.

The guys working were super nice and very helpful. They helped me find exactly what I was looking for, and were really personable. They carry great products and have a wide selection to choose from.

Mid mtn bike ride I realized I had neglected some maintenance on my brakes. Thought for sure this would put a cramp in my plans for the week. Knowing that bike parts are in short supply, and bike shops are often booking repair maintenance appointments out quite a bit. I am SO appreciative of the service Home Town was able to provide. Blake was able to quickly replace a rotor and pads while I waited. I was extremely fortunate that he had parts, and was willing to squeeze me in. Can't thanks them enough

My mom has had drop foot for years and has just been making do with sub par boots. She decided to schedule a fitting at Home Town and Eric spent over 2 hours making a new pair of boots fit. She said they are now the most comfortable shoes she owns! Ski Boots = most comfortable, excuse me what??? Since then my sister and I have both gone in and purchased boots. We all couldn’t be happier! Thanks Eric and the Home Town crew for taking care of us and our feet!

I had a paddleboard with a leak in it. After two days in the shop, the leak was still not fixed due to irreparable damage, but the rating I'm giving is based on the service I received. From the initial call to the call that the leak was still there, I was treated warmly and professionally. They did not end up charging for their time and kept asking what else they could do for me. I would 100% recommend!

This is a great shop with friendly staff. My family and enjoy shopping there. Plus they have a great school bell. It's really cool and a part of McCall history
