Hearth of Malone

A wonderful gem in a place you would least expect to find it. The atmosphere is mostly low-key and welcoming, while the cuisine is elevated and well executed and reasonably priced.

The staff is very friendly and gives off a tight knit family vibe. I have had the pleasure of dining there on a few occasions now and each time i was greeted directly by the owner whether he was manning the front as the host or sitting down as another diner.

Each time i dine here, i am blown away by the care and exexution coming from the kitchen. Since i have been in the area i have yet to dine at many places that deliver on that feeling that you are eating an "elevated dish", but they have delivered every single time.

Especially at the price point, this may be one of my favorite restaurants of all time.

From the service to the food, just phenomenal 🙌🏽 We happened to walkin right before the dinner rush so we got our apps rather quickly. As the rush peaked our entres took a lil longer, however our server made sure we were well taken care of and it gave us the perfect time to visit and digest before the main course. Crab cake and french onion soup apps were well balanced in flavor and richness. Dare I say perfect smoothness to each. Beef tips and salmon were exquisite as well. That caramelization on the filet edges was everything and the jous moat around the mashed, oh man. Wish we had discovered this joint sooner and we'll definitely be back for more. Thanks for a great evening out.

Wonderful experience! Great servers, great food. Owner came out to check in on everything. Whole fish (steelhead trout) was incredible, and way too much food for one! Took home the leftovers and made recipe recommended by chef:) Truly excellent evening. Thank you!

My wife and I went to the Hearth on Valentine's day not knowing what to expect. From the moment we walked in staff was very friendly. It was an inviting environment with a modern and rustic blend. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food we ordered was delicious from our starter to desert. If your looking for a place for a special occasion or just a nice night out with your special someone the Hearth is the place to go.

What a wonderful restaurant to have in Malone! I am only in the area for the holidays to visit family and can finally
have a great tasting meal in an amazing ambiance. The owner was very personable, helpful and welcoming. The decor is calming and makes the restaurant feel like you are at home. The staff was attentive and quick. We had 3 courses in under an hour, with 2-3 drinks each! Thank you for being in the north country!

Superb. Just us two tired parents strolling into the restaurant on a late evening and we are delighted to interact with such stellar staff members at every step of our dining experience. Just the most genuine smiles from the entire staff along with pleasant conversation. The food was equally amazing, most especially the NY Strip Steak which was paired with a baked potato and broccoli. It might be odd to say this about greens but i'd come back for a whole plate of those veggies any time....and then that chocolate cake. Rich and divine. Definitely coming back!

We had appetizers to entrée and the food was amazing. The staff was super and friendly. The chefs and kitchen staff whip up some excellent food. Great atmosphere. The owner was super helpful. If you don't eat here your missing a great experience. The prices are slightly above the average but the food and service was way above average. We will be back. Worth every dollar

I was incredibly impressed. The food, the service, and the atmosphere almost feels out of place for Malone. We made a reservation for Saturday brunch and were promptly sat, our waitress, Rachel, was very pleasant and gave incredible recommendations for 3 people who enjoy craft beer. The tap list was pretty extensive with local beers here in NY as well as some fantastic options from breweries in Vermont down to Delaware. The food was amazing, the fried chicken sandwich had a delicious honey glaze, even the potato salad was the best I've had. The staff was very attentive our entire stay, safe to say we'll be back.

First time here, we’ve been wanting to try it. I’m so glad we did, the food was very good, staff friendly, the restaurant was clean, great music, nice menu, kid friendly for family dining. I would recommend stopping in for a good meal. If anyone had a bad experience, try it again they have it together. We will go back!

This is the first time I have been here and it was the best. We arrived during brunch thinking it was lunch time and the staff and cook went out of their way to make sure that we got lunch. The waitress was so attentive to out needs. This food is outstanding. This is the place to go in Malone.

Just passing through and luckily ran into this GREAT spot. The food is exceptional and only made from The Best ingredients. The Manager could literally tell me where every product was from and what lengths they went to for their dishes. This is the real deal for sure. Atmosphere eclectic and super clean. Great wine and beer list. They even cure their own olives!

Delicious, inviting, and all-around delightful restaurant. Amazing place. Locally sourced, great wine list with NY Wines and non-NY wines. Cocktails are top notch.

This place was incredible! I visited a friend in Malone and went here for brunch. The server made great recommendations for breakfast beers and entrees. She was super friendly and warm, as was the manager and chef who also came by our table to check in. Everyone was very welcoming overall. The food was so awesome and fresh (I highly recommend The Early Bird), and the atmosphere was lovely. I would love to come here again. What a great addition to the quaint town of Malone. I wish we had this place near me!

We had an awesome experience at Hearth tonight. Hearth is upscale but accessible, with a gorgeous and cozy atmosphere. The menu has a lot of great variety, with something for everyone and options to suit a variety of tastes and price ranges. We opted to try a bunch of smaller plates and an entree, and enjoyed them all. The small plates are on the larger size, a great choice for several to share. The cocktail/beer/wine list is also impressive and reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back!

It was an excellent evening out. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We sat at the counter right at the kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. I had the steak frites and my wife had the whole lobster. My steak was juicy and tender as was the lobster. For dessert we had the coffee cake with a butterscotch bourbon ice cream. We will definitely be going back.

The food was excellent. It’s nice to see a place like this in Malone. You feel completely transported. Beautiful inside! I think the service kinks will work themselves out in time. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area! Oh! And the French onion soup is DELICIOUS and vegetarian!!!!!!

We finally drove here from Potsdam for an anniversary dinner, and it did not disappoint. The food and service were excellent, the best in the North Country. Definitely worth the drive! Take the chance, it's worth it, and you'll be back.

Superb food and attentive service in a stunningly designed location. My family had an absolutely beautiful meal at Hearth of Malone...incredible home baked breads, whiskey butter, apple butter; rigatoni with braised beef and crunchy bread crumbs; fried chicken sandwich; pizza; a mouthwatering vegetarian dish; gourmet mac & cheese. Delicious cocktails and great wine and beer menu too. The staff is warm and caring...you can feel the heart in the Hearth of Malone. The interior displays the gorgeous work of local crafts people, and feels quite upscale...yet everything about the menu and people is accessible. My only wish is that we had this restaurant in our hometown Middlebury, Vermont. Keep up the great work, and wishing this restaurant much success!
