Feedwell Kitchen and Bakery

I’m visiting from Minneapolis and grabbed an Italian sandwich yesterday for lunch because they had sold out of The Beefst for the day. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. I also grabbed the last strawberry rhubarb eclair. Also amazing. I knew I had to try one of their breakfast items before I leave town so this morning I ordered The Standard egg and cheese biscuit with ham. So good! I highly recommend this cute little place and to go early so you don’t miss out. My next visit I’ll get the cinnamon or pecan rolls I’ve heard so much about.

Busy when we arrived around lunch time, had a hard time reading the menu above so they provided us paper menus to read. Only waited 10min for our to go order, staff was friendly & the atmosphere is nice. Food was very good, the herbed goat cheese on the chicken sandwich was delicious.

Love this place. Great pastries and coffee. Tasty breakfast items. Perfect place for a Sunday morning. Clean and well appointed. Love the vibe in here. Lots of plants and natural light. It's just a comfortable leisurely spot. Fast service with counter type ordering. Get there early to get the best selection of treats.

My husband and I were in Shell Rock for my niece's wedding and wanted a cinnamon roll and we're unable to find any close to Shell Rock. So we looked up places to go in Cedar rapids and found this feedwell kitchen and bakery listed as one place that carries cinnamon rolls.

When we arrive there they happen to be out of regular cinnamon rolls so I purchased a vegan one instead and it was absolutely delicious. They explain that the only difference was is that it was made with vegan butter instead of whole butter.

We decided to try one of the other things that they had there and it was absolutely delicious. Flaky the whipped cream was delicious and we also each got a coffee. I got a caramel macchiato and my husband got a vanilla latte iced both of them with oat milk.

We will definitely return to this place if we are to visit Cedar rapids again anytime soon and would highly recommend stopping there.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Hands down my fav breakfast place near Iowa City now. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Staff are super friendly and helpful with your questions about the menu. The design of the place is cute and full of light. Extra plus that it is well kept and clean to my liking.

Where to start on the yummy food…

Pastry board for two can easily feed 4 people depending on what you choose. We chose the Pumpkin scone, Orange Cranberry scone, and the Jerusalem Bagel. The scones were perfectly sweet and crumbly and taste so good with a tea/coffee. The flavors in the scones didn’t really need the butter and jam sides, but that is a plus according to preference. The Jerusalem Bagel was to die for: crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the smell/taste of the sesame seeds was lovely. Added plus: bagel is huge and the EVOO and thyme to dunk the bagel in made it more delicious.

The Grain Bowl was very unique. I never came across a mix like this even though I am familiar with all the food ingredients of this dish. I would say this is more of a heavier breakfast/brunch. The taste is very flavorful (similar to Arab/Mediterranean dishes). Really good to share and indulge in.

You can’t go wrong with the Standard if you like a good egg sandwich. A bit small if you are hungry.

We got the PB&G and subbed the Prosciutto for grilled veggies. This was so simple, yet so yummy. The goat cheese had some lemon zest in it which just made the taste pop, and the veggies were perfectly sweet.

Definitely will visit again and will recommend to anyone.

Restaurant Layout/Vibe Rating - 5 stars

The location is pretty awesome. Once you enter the doors you are inside an open concept area. I like how spaced apart it is. The lighting is amazing! Overall we loved the feel. They even have a separate room that can be called and held for an occasion. They also have public restrooms that are nice and clean.

Customer Service Rating - 5 stars

This has been one of the best experiences customer service wise since Covid has been around. Soon as we entered the location the staff greeted us! Say what?? Is this CFA ;P. Honestly though, I was so happy that the employees seemed happy and were paying attention to guests even though it was busy.

I wanted to ask the employees more questions for this review, so I went ahead and got back in line. I only had 1 guest in front of me, who was quite chatty. One of the team members noticed I was waiting (only for maybe a minute) and they went out of their way to open another register just to help me quickly, talk about impressive! I hope the owner or manager is able to read this, because I can’t say enough how awesome your staff and service was. Great job to the Feedwell team!

Food Rating - 5 stars

We tried a few different items. A vegan muffin that was wonderful. A sugar cookie (it was soft, chewy and out of this world)! Then we both ordered the egg/cheese biscuit. One with ham, the other with bacon. They came out so fresh, it couldn’t have been any fresher! For these biscuits I wasn’t aware when ordering that I could use a different bread type. For me, the way they come is a little heavy. However, after speaking with the team, they said we had multiple choices and next time I am definitely going to try the baguette. Very pleased with all food options!

We came back and tried this sandwich on baguette and croissant. Croissant was a winner for our family hands down!

Very delicious, a little hotter would make it perfect! Love it :)!

Overall we loved our experience and I would give it 5 stars all day if it stays like this. Great job all!

Feedwell was a refreshing spot to have lunch after a morning of hiking. Their menu is just the right size and has wonderful, fresh, and flavorful food. They also have fun special drinks options- today I got their super food beet root powder latte (comes without espresso unless you ask) and their lentil curry salad which was PHENOMENAL. I debated barging into the kitchen to ask for their dressing recipe. So delicious. My partner got a Cuban style panini that I tried a bite of and it was also soooo tasty. Would absolutely go back and definitely try one of their pastries/baked goods.

5 stars all around. The food is delicious. It’s so refreshing having somewhere healthy to eat when you’re surrounded by the opposite anywhere else you go. And so many gluten free options!!

Seems to be a women owned space which I love!! Staff were all friendly and kind even on a rather rainy day. Food is all fresh and beautifully displayed! The girls behind the counter knew what went into everything and enjoyed answering questions and raved about their favorites. They even said their cinnamon rolls are what keep people coming back. I'm addition to being a fully functional kitchen and bakery theyre also dedicated to making delicious, high end coffee & teas. Everything is affordable (a life saver for a broke, twenty something like me!!) but doesn't cut corners and is thoughtfully made! I think this is gonna be a regular spot for me from now on. 😄

I wish I had photos of my food but it was so good I inhaled it. Loved everything I ordered and the atmosphere. I recommend the veggie sandwich. Also appreciated that it was a Kirkwood alumni owned business!

I had a great experience here, our flight was delayed and i had nowhere else to go in Iowa, and we stayed there until it was time to close, and the owner was very lind and welcoming. I will def. Go back when i visit iowa again!

After a gooey cinnamon roll for my husband and a tasty avocado toast on honey wheat bread for me, I'm officially a fan. The prices are a little high for the area but you're paying for things made with love from scratch which is worth it.

Spectacular food cozy dining area. Sandwich was awesome, salad was fresh and delicious. Cheese cake was yummy.

One of the best bakeries in town. Hands down. Pecan rolls and cinnamon rolls are can’t miss.

We had Feedwell Kitchen cater a brunch at our home for out-of-town family and friends the day after our daughter's wedding. They delivered and set up everything for us. The food was fantastic and our guests loved everything. We received so many compliments on the food! Melanie was a joy to work with and she made everything so easy for us. I highly recommend Feedwell Kitchen and Bakery for any brunch or lunch catering needs.

Very nice atmosphere, food and service. We ordered the: bacon, egg, cheese biscuit, quinoa bowl and avacado toast. Everyone enjoyed their food. Coffee was decent. Hot chocolate and cookie were delicious.

Only disappointment was that when we arrived they were out of almost all of the baked goods. Would have enjoyed trying some.

We have been coming to Feedwell since they opened and they never disappoint. Hands down best bakery in Cedar Rapids!

Very good vibe, good music, tasty food and classic coffees. I’d recommend. Try the spinach and wild rice salad with warm bacon-fig dressing.

Staff is incredibly friendly and kind. Food is absolutely amazing. The veggie sandwich is my personal favorite and my wife loves their cinnamon rolls! Coffee is also really good. We come here pretty much every weekend. Highly recommend <3
