Celebrated my nephew's graduation here and all has changed for the better. Staff is very helpful, engaging and extra friendly.

This place is amazing. Way better than I expected.

The CR Library is certainly the connecting of all of Linn county libraries. Among them is the best Marion n Hiawatha libraries. I try to visit all I can n do so from the city transit system.

Been going here since I was a kid and I have always loved reading for sure way more open areas to sit and read than previous building

The downtown location of the Cedar Rapids Public Library is a thoroughly modern facility featuring many computer stations, meeting rooms, electronic charging hubs, WiFi, a few treadmills (yes, treadmills), decent book and movie selections, and lots self-checkout stations, as well as a cafe.

Please note that this address is for the downtown library. The Ladd Library is on the west side of the city.

The young man who helped me fax insurance documents was a God send. I was lost, and he made the process so easy. He said his job is basically to help people, and he enjoys it. Well, he is extremely good at it! I am sorry I don't remember his name, but he will be the one with a kind smile on his face.

The staff here is amazing! There are always activities going on. I love being able to place a book on hold online.

Great place for kids and adults to be themselves. Kids can be loud and have fun, so can adults. Coloring books you can color in, TV sized tablets, and now I checked out a how to crochet kit complete with needle and yarn

I always love coming to this library! Never have I ever had a bad experience. The staff is always very helpful, professional, kind, and smiling. They even stayed late one time because they knew I was running back (literally running) to check out a computer with a hotspot. And then applauded me when I got there! That really made me feel appreciated and liked.

Cedar Rapids is so fortunate to have such a great public library. Even the surrounding area is pretty great. Across the street, Green Square offers a great place to read outside in the summer. Inside the library is a welcoming table where the staff puts out books on topics covering the month’s theme. The lower level has a large children’s area that includes not only books but computers designed for young users, toys, games and even a stage for puppet shows. There is also a large young adult room which includes a fire place. The Café offers several sandwiches and a seating area in the middle of the lower level. The adult fiction section is also located on the lower level with many seating areas. Computers are located throughout the library to make search for books easy. Staff is also available to offer assistance if needed. The upper level of the library houses the nonfiction books as well as a collection of movies and video games. There is also a computer lab and meeting/study rooms available on a first come first serve basis. During the summer months the library offers a roof top patio to read or just enjoy the downtown view. If, like me, you prefer covered parking, you can park in the ramp and access the library by the second level cross walk. You can even use your library card for an hour of free parking.

This is a beautiful library, with parts of it open two stories high. They have wonderful selections of fiction, nonfiction, adolescent fiction, and children's books. There are signs all around the library, such as, "Because learning to read comes before reading to learn." On the 3rd floor is a gallery where they have various themed displays, and on the roof is a small garden!

Cedar Rapids main library— wow what a great children/toddler program. There’s story time, time dedicated to group interaction, play time and of course sing alongside which the littles love. Great work CR Library!

I need a notary it says they have it available, does anyone know what times and days they offer it?

I really enjoy my time there while my 12 yr old Chess lover plays chess with like minded individuals, of all ages, on Wednesday night. I

I absolutely love the idea of a library and all it brings to a community….and this library, top notch…a beautiful piece of architecture with a convenient downtown location. Very nice and helpful staff…but the one thing that I think makes this place even more wonderful is their acceptance of our homeless community, most places would find any reason to rid themselves of a homeless person….but not here, and for that I give this place 5 stars.

The best library I've ever been to. The windows bring in so much natural light, and they always have the latest books. The cafe has great food too! Also the rooftop garden is so beautiful.
