The Quarter Barrel Arcade & Brewery

We had a great time here this evening! We are currently road tripping from Ohio and were looking for something that would be fun for us and also our five year old. Our daughter absolutely loved the arcade games, of course, and we all loved the food. We got a Bowser pizza and it had the perfect amount of spice. We also got the Princess Peach dessert pizza, which was very tasty. Between my husband and I, we tried three different QB beers and enjoyed all of them. Service was great! It wasn’t too crazy when we got there around 5, but was packed when we left. Our daughter asked if we could “plllllleeeeease” come back — and we certainly will if we are ever in Cedar Rapids again!

Pac Man, Pin Ball and PIZZA! What a very COOL PLACE! With over 40 arcade games, most only a quarter, you can't go wrong! The menu is very diverse, too. Lots of beer on tap brewed right there. We had the Cheese pizza for the kiddo's and the adults did the Mario pizza! SO GOOD. They also have pasta, burgers and much more! Service was very good. We went on a Saturday at dinner time and it was very busy with a wait. ANOTHER thing we liked is they have stools for smaller kids so they can play the games too!

Good pizza and great beer - the staff was all very friendly. Pinball machines were in great shape and reasonably priced. First time I’ve played The Shadow. Challenging game!

One of the best arcades I've been to. We had apps and beer, both were flavorful and good. Went back the next day for pizza, it's great. Four rows of vintage arcade games are cash, most are quarters, pinball is 50c to 1$ play. Seemingly set at release. There is an ATM and change machine.

Edit: add we went back for pizza. And to make it clear there are arcade machines too! Like missle command, Ms PAC man, TMNT, donkey Kong. All seemingly original machines.

We went to The Quarter Barrel for the first time on October 21st. It was the perfect spot for our date night. My first impression was that instead of the usual sports channels you see on tv in any bar and grill David Bowie’s ‘Labyrinth’ was playing and it was a really cool vibe. We had the Greek nachos and the Birria pizza. The nachos were really flavorful and filling. By the time our pizza came we were full and ready to get to the games! (Rest assured we did take the pizza back to our hotel and enjoy it later and it was amazing too). There’s also tons of different drink options so you’ll have no problem spotting an old favorite or trying something new that you’ll really like. Our server, I’m so sorry if I got his name wrong, Jacob was really great he got our drinks to us quickly each time and when we asked for our to-go box he kindly checked in with us to make sure it wasn’t an issue of being displeased with our order. They have an atm, coin machine, and cup dispenser available so getting your quarters is super easy and convenient. The selection of games is good and there is definitely something for everyone there are even a few free play games available if you’re just looking for a cheap passtime while your food is coming along. All around, it was a really good experience and we can’t wait to come back.

I always thoroughly enjoy coming here. I used to live in CR and been going here since it opened. I live in Iowa City and still make the drive to go. Worth it. Game selection is great, prices for them are fair, 25¢-50¢, and a good selection of free to play games. Food and drinks are good too. Bar staff is super nice. They don't have a set cocktail/mixed drink menu, but they will make almost anything you want if they have the ingredients. Prices for drinks are really good too. Happy hour is $3 house beers.
Always a fun time, great atmosphere, and they definitely raise the bar on bar food and drinks. They also have fun events.

You don’t need to go here to know you’re going to enjoy the experience. This place has a total of 3 sandwiches but the most important thing is that they got mozzarella sticks, knowing this you can guarantee a 5/5 meal. Will definitely come here soon.

Food and service was great. The Buffalo chicken dip is amazing! It was cream cheese base instead of the mayo base that one would find at say, Applebee's. And loaded with chicken, Buffalo sauce and mozzarella.

Our company recently had a great & entertaining team dinner event @ Quarter Barrel, and it was a blast. The food & beverage, staff and both video & pinball games made it a fantastic time for everyone. Can't wait to get back to Cedar Rapids again for a stop...always high on the list! Do it, you won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere is amazing. The pizza is very tasty. The in-house beers are also a must try. The arcade is extremely fun and nostalgic and the business is part of the local community. A total Cedar Rapids Experience

We preordered for our hockey team in from out of town. It was perfect! Food came out as planned and everyone (parents and teen boys) had so much fun playing games from the past!

Great place to play old school video games, eat amazing pizza, and drink a local beer. Highly recommended for all ages. Huge selection of your old favorites including several pinball machines.

If you visit check out the secret entrance to the Ministry of Magic and watch out for Myrtle.

We have three boys ranging from 2nd grade to 11th grade, and they had a blast here. The atmosphere is immersive, the service is great and the games are fun for anyone on any skill level. It was a great way to spend a rainy Iowan night after being on the road all day. The servers are also very friendly and laid back.

It does get busy in the evening, so be prepared if you are anxious in crowds, but it cleared out around 9PM and we had the place basically to ourselves. Also, the coin machine's card reader was down when we went, so we had to get cash from the ATM next to it and change it into coins. No big deal, but if you want to avoid ATM fees, bring cash or coins. The games range from 0.25 (older) to $1.00 (mostly pin ball). QUARTERS ONLY - we found a few games with nickels and dimes shoved in, causing that side to be unplayable.

There are also a few free games that are on continuous play. The price ranges are perfect for the popularity and skill level of the games they are on. For example, $1.00 on the Iron Maiden pin ball machine lasted me over 5 minutes of play and I got a lower-tier high score - and I'm a mom that doesn't do anything but play Mario Kart once in a blue moon. My much more skilled oldest got a high score on Centipede (not enough to make it on the wall - next time!).

Our meal was a little over $100, and included two 18" pizzas, a kids meal, an appetizer & a couple of draft special drinks. Not bad at all and it was pretty tasty. Try the craft beers if you can (the also offer flights if you are indecisive).

Just got home from my first trip to Quarter Barrel. Awesome experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was decently priced and is delicious. Recommend the "Crab Rangoonies Pizza." Pretty decent sized collection of arcade games too considering they are all authentic. Definitely worth stopping in, and I will definitely be back.

My wife, my son, and I came in for a Sunday evening early dinner. This was our first visit here. We live in Tiffin, but wanted to make the drive to try it out.... we will definitely be back! The food was great, service was good, prices fair for the portions, and of course my son and I had a blast with the arcade games. :) no complaints at all.

The staff and food are amazing! Every time I come here, it feels like a home away from home, and I know that I can bring my kids and grandchild and know that we will be taken care!! The games are so much fun and takes me back to my childhood! Yeah, we had to wait a little while for a table, but that just shows that they’re an amazing place that everyone want to go to. It was well worth the 5 minute wait!!

Absolutely awesome place and absolutely awesome service! Must see if you're in town! My husband and I had some of their local beers, their Mac n Cheese bites and their parmesan truffle fries and they were AMAZING! Highly recommend this place! Super fun!
