We had a wonderful stay in a very clean, well appointed room. It was quiet and peaceful. The bed very comfy. The flower beds were beautiful. Breakfast was delicious 😋. This is a proper bed and breakfast. We haven't stayed at one for years. We felt spoiled. Such a wonderful way to start each day.

This B&B is an incredible value all around . The owners have done a wonderful job maintaining and personalizing the grounds and rooms. Breakfast was delicious and the owners have so much knowledge on the history of the estate. Location wise the freeway is closely accessible but the neighborhood was quiet. This will be my place to stay in Cedar Rapids from now on! We will be back soon!

I live in town and wanted to book a romantic getaway with me and the boyfriend. The cottage is on a huge hill that over looks the city and is beautiful. The room we stayed in was super clean and WAY cozy. I wanted to stay there forever. Bed was very comfortable and the covers were soft and warm. The bathroom was well supplied with towels, shampoos and soaps. The hot water stayed hot and pressure was perfect. It stayed very warm during the night and the outside was very well lit. Outside was very quiet. The owners hand made breakfast the next day and was SUPER good, I finished it quickly. They were very kind and gave us a lot of info on the history of the building and how they came to own it. They accommodated well to our needs and were very out going. It reminded me of staying with my grandparents and I felt very welcome and invited. 20/10 would book again for a romantic getaway!

If you visit the website for Belmont Hill B&B, you will see that the innkeepers Ken and Shelley are proud to be owner operated with no employees, and therefore ensure that the rooms are fastidiously clean and sanitized. We can attest that is not hyperbole in any sense. This place is spotless. The grounds are beautiful as are the rooms. The breakfasts are first rate and served in a lovely dining room. The location is perfect. You feel like you are in another world, yet downtown Cedar Rapids is just a 10 minute drive away. Stay here and you will be so happy, there is nothing negative to say at all. Ken and Shelly are gracious and engaging hosts, but never intrusive, just perfect!

Loved this place. The age alone is amazing! Everything was super clean the yard was beautifully manicured. We saw deer and rabbits from our room window. Super spacious.
Breakfast was delicious and they were so kind.

Property and service exactly as described on website and by telephone. Prompt, friendly accommodating service by owners. Shelley and Ken were a pleasure to talk to; they shared a wealth of history about the property and the area. The rooms were excellent and tended to every day, including leaving those 2 chocolate nuggets every evening. And the breakfasts were glorious--fresh fruit, hot entree with toast, and capped off with a wonderful pastry. What else can you ask for? We thoroughly enjoyed our 6 nights and will certainly stay there if we are ever in Cedar Rapids again. Thank you.

I didn't stay here myself so I hope this review is okay. My wife and I don't have the space to host relatives and this is the perfect place to send them. Her parents loved it and raved about how clean and nice this B & B is.

A bit hard to find even with GPS, BUT absolutely gorgeous! On a hill, tucked into the woods with premium linens and gorgeous gourmet breakfasts served in the historic dining room. The outside gardens are stunning. A beautiful retreat yet close to all the Cedar Rapids museums, restaurants and a half hour drive from Iowa City and the Amana colonies. I can't WAIT to come back! DO book early as they only have three rooms and they are regularly full. Shelly and Ken are fantastic hosts!

Great place, you'll think you're lost driving through the neighborhood that surrounds it, but it's a real gem tucked in around the corner. The historic buildings are beautiful and full of history. The sleeping rooms are in the carriage house, breakfast is in the main house. Breakfast was outstanding and the owners Shelly and Ken are great people, we had a nice visit with them. My wife wanted to take the Yorkies home, so yes they're cute too. If we had one complaint it would be temperature control in the carriage house, but in their defense it was below zero at night and only single digits during the day when we were there. Oddly the room seemed to get warmer at night and we were gone sightseeing most of the day when the room was cooler, so it didn't matter much. The bed was comfortable and the down comforter very warm, nice!

Shelley met us as we pulled up. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. My husband and I loved the breakfast they served. Ken regaled us with stories as we ate. We will definitely stay there again. It was very comfortable.

What a lovely place to stay. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. From driving around the corner into a garden paradise, to being greeted at our vehicle, to being told there was a Willie Nelson Concert in town (and advice in getting tickets), to the quaint guest house with a lovely room, to a scrumptious breakfast with fun conversation with other guests and the owners we loved this Bed and Breakfast. Wandering the gardens, listening to the birds singing in the trees, smelling the blossoms of trees and flowers were the crowning touch! We highly recommend this B&B.

Beautiful spot, interesting guest quarters and history, caring proprietors, very comfortable accommodations! We did not have time to eat a full breakfast, but the proprietor fed us a cup of coffee and an excellent fruit salad anyway. Be sure to visit the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art while you are there, and see Grant Wood's studio! We'll be back!

We stayed this past weekend and appreciated the extra steps taken to keep the rooms clean during COVID. It’s a Lovely setting in a hidden area close to downtown. Clean and quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Shelly and Ken are wonderful hosts. We will come back again!

This beautiful property is owned by the loveliest people. Shelly and Ken have created and maintained an Eden within the Cedar Rapids city limits that is quaint, relaxing, surprising in its details and luxuriously comfortable. Breakfast was delicious in the gorgeous Victorian dining room. It is close to downtown but hidden away in a forest of trees. I will definitely be back as often as I can.

Such a great experience. I had never been to a b&b before and I didn't knew what to expect . I was looking up hotels in the area and none of them were very appealing. Then this place popped up. I was traveling by myself with a 1 and 2 year old. We were definitely NOT the intended audience for this place but the couple who own it made me feel right at home anyway. Clean room, super cozy, extra comfy bed and linens. The breakfast was phenomenal. No joke best breakfast I have had in years- it was a beautiful ham and egg roulade. Made my kids cute little plates with toast and fruit and yogurt. They even had the sweetest little wooden highchairs for them. My kids are always trying to run around and since I was sans husband I didn't have an extra set of hands to wrangle them. So we made a hasty exit from breakfast. Wish I had more time to enjoy it! The owners were super kind, understanding and patient with me. Thanks! I will be back hopefully next time without the critters!

The Belmont Hill Victorian B&B was a relaxing experience after being on the road for hours. The guest room was exactly as shown on the website. The quiet, calming atmosphere was appreciated. The breakfast was appetizing and well-presented. The next time I visit I will stay longer. It was a very pleasant experience and worth the effort to depart from using a hotel.

I stayed at this B&B almost a year ago and I'm sorry it's taken me this long to write a review. I was going through a terrible time in my life. I was getting a divorce after 21 years because of husband's infidelity and I needed a place to recallibrate. I'm from Indiana but I was looking for something that was about 8 hours away. I don't know how or why but the Belmont Hill B&B is what I chose and I'm sooo thankful. Not only is this a beautiful place, the owners are genuinely caring people. I think of my time with Shelley often. She was never invasive into what was going on with me but, nevertheless, she made a huge impact on me. God knew I needed her wisdom. So much good has happened to me since my visit. I look at my time at this B&B as a turning point in my life. I surrendered to God in that room on Saturday night and told him I would follow him wherever He wanted me to go. God went right to work and now I am happier than I can ever remember being. I know it was because I was in a Godly place with a Godly woman who had obviously prayed over her potential visitors many, many times. Thank you Shelley!!

Idyllic location out of traffic or noise, plenty of convenience, privacy without interruption, clean and comfortable with places to sit indoors or out. Gracious and friendly hosts, lovely garden plots. Add the delicious and filling breakfast, easy parking, and quick access to downtown, why put up with a hotel? If this is available when I am next in the area, it's the best choice to make. You'll be happy you tried it, too.
