Had the Georgia Chicken, and it had a peach slice on it!

Servers are nice (including Timm new server Betty!) The outdoor seating is very relaxing, we even saw a little train. 🚂

Not open all day, check their hours, but worth it! 😁

To the point: Main Street Cafe has THE best Strawberry Pretzel Salad around. Full stop.

All of the food is amazing, but no joke, the Strawberry Pretzel Salad is incredible and it WILL run out, so get there early! Sometimes I go just for that! Actually, just the other day my mother who has been stranded out of town because of a health emergency told me she was craving theirs, and asked me to eat one from them on her behalf.

The strawberries are always flavorful, and the cream is sweet, but not too sweet, almost like a cannoli filling, and the pretzels are candied.

Their blackened steak is also delicious, with their hashbrown casserole, and I usually get their cranberry jello salad (I know that's not what it's called, but I can't remember the name). I can't remember ever having a complaint about their food or service, and I have been going there for years. I should have written this review much earlier because they deserve it.

The atmosphere is pleasant and classic, given it's a historical building. I enjoy looking at the décor.

And shout-out to the people that work the front desk. I'll order the Strawberry Pretzel Salad to go, and they will have one ready for me, and I'm in and out in less than 5 minutes. Y'all are awesome!

Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered quiche of the day with a scoop of chicken salad. The mandarin spinach salad with poppy seeds is a must try. It’s light, so fresh and tasty. This restaurant gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for everything. I’m absolutely in love with it. The ambience, freshness and delicious flavors will captivate you. It was a prison cell back in the day and they would keep the prisoners overnight over there before transporting them to their destinations, that’s why it’s next to railway track. What an adorable little spot! It is exactly what you would want for a nice lunch to visit with a friend. The menu is unique and they also have daily specials on the board at the front. The building is a historical one with lots of character. We went on a Monday right in the middle of lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes. The waitress we had was very knowledgeable about the menu which we appreciated. They also have a kids menu for $5.95 that includes a side and drink. I also thought the pricing for adult meals was very fair. We will definitely be back.

If I could give more stars, I would!!! Everything about this cafe is top-notch, first-class! The food is amazingly delicious, variety and quantity spot on. The service is consistently above expectations, no matter who serves you. (Ask for Timm, he's a landmark!). See if your table can be one of the ones in the "jail cells" for a unique historical perspective and experience!

Fresh and flavorful food! A wonderful experience with many unique options on the menu and multiple specials off the menu. There were four of us and everyone had something different and it was all great. Staff was friendly and the service was great. I highly recommend Main Street Cafe!

If I could give 20 stars I would. Main Street Cafe has been a favorite of mine for many years. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING!! Far better than any other restaurant I have visited. Their staff is always friendly, the service is amazing & the food is delicious. I am a very happy customer and would definitely recommend!!!!!

This place doesn't disappoint. From the simple tuna or chicken salad plate with pea salad, frozen fruit salad and amazing pumpkin bread to the stuffed pork tenderloin w/mashed potatoes and green beans. Pretzel salad is delish! We love this place and visit whenever we are in Madison. Food is always yummy and service is good.

Another great meal in a historic building at the cafe. We reserved a table and we’re immediately greeted and sat during a busy Friday afternoon. Mom always orders a quiche and I tried the chicken salad on a quiche. My daughter loves the pasta dishes. Tim was a great server.

My wife and I finally got to go to Main Street Cafe for lunch. Because they are only open 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., it has been difficult for us to be able to get in when we are both off. We were so glad we had the opportunity to go to eat there. The food is excellent, the service is very friendly, it did not take long at all for us to get our appetizers or our main course. They only serve lunch because they are open for such limited hours, which is a shame because their food is excellent. The most expensive items are only $10.95. My wife had the grilled ribeye main course, and I had the Georgia chicken. Both of them were incredibly tasty, very tender, and extremely feeling. We also had a cup of clam bisque each, and tried their fried avocado slices because we had heard so much about them. There was no wait, no issue getting our food quickly, and the service was very friendly and speedy. We definitely plan on going back, and would recommend it to anyone.

My first time to eat here and loved it! We had grilled tilapia with green beans and mashed potatoes...spinach artichoke quiche and fried green tomatoes. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. Lots of good desserts are also offered. Cafe used to be an old jailhouse so you can see one of the jail cells(with dining table inside) and handcuffs in pictures. There's also lots of shops on the street to visit.

We very much enjoyed this restaurant. We one of our party requested a room that was a former jail cell and that is where we ate. I had shrimp someone else had a pasta from what I remember. The desserts were magnificent. What was extra cool is that this restaurant is located in a little walkable square. We arrived early and had fun meandering through the antique shop and there is a popcorn and coffeeshop there along with other businesses. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. The service was top notch.

We went to Main St., Café for my daughter-in-law’s graduation meal! It’s a nice small restaurant with great food! Russell was the waiter for our party. He did a great job and was patient with all the request6! Will definitely not have a problem returning here when I’m in town.

Main Street Cafe is in the heart of Historic Madison City which is super small but quaint! If you're looking to enjoy a leisurely lunch - this is the place.The service is friendly and the food isn't super quick but fast enough. From chicken salad to salmon or pork to pastas the menu has a good variety depending on your appetite. My Mother's favorite is the Georgia Pecan Chicken. I ordered the Blackened Salmon and I would recommend it for sure. Main Street Cafe is adorable and has outdoor seating. Super cute place with a truly southern feel.

I was truly surprised at how wonderful our visit was. It didn't seem exceptional at first glance, but the service was exemplary from everyone we interacted with, Timm especially, and the food was genuinely good. The outdoor seating was comfortable, even on an August afternoon. Would highly recommend, and return!

This has become one of my favorite restaurants. I usually have lunch, but this dinner is one of the best meals I have ever had. The atmosphere is very laid back, and staff is attentive. They have a good selection of wines and cocktails. If you like fish, get the clam bisque (best I have ever had & they make it fresh) and the pistachio crusted salmon. You must stop in. I just found out they do take reservations, but they aren't needed unless you go at a high traffic time, so call just in case. You must try this place!

Had a great dinner the other night with crab cakes and shrimp scampi as our special choice. With a great bottle of wine and great service, it was an evening to cherish and remember.

Such a pleasure to dine here, nice people and great service! Outdoor dining is even more enjoyable in the small town atmosphere. Food was delicious too!
