Madison County Garbage Collection

I live on a very icy laden road , today our garbage collector could not get the truck down the road,he in turn got out of the truck and proceeded to walk down the ice covered road and pulled both of the cans through the ice to empty them and then he carefully slipped and slid bringing them back to my home . Thank you Madison County for Excellence Service.

This was one of the best experiences I've had with any company lately. It was my fault for not putting out my can the night before. But, the came back within 45 minutes before leaving town for the week. Thank you for y'all's professionalism!

Yesterday my weekly pick up was passed by. All of the neighbors had their trash picked up. I called the sanitation department and they were attentive and well spoken on the phone. The lady said she would get someone out to empty my can when they are available. I thought that I was getting on a long list and would probably be sitting on a full trash can for some time. To my surprise, the truck came within 2 hours of my call. Not only did they dump my can but I had a very large box filled with garage clean up trash and some lumber. They managed to pick that up as well. The large "trash" is usually picked up by a different truck with a grabber arm but this employee went the extra distance and somehow managed to get this 4'x4'x4' box into the back of his truck. Thank you for your great service!

I have never had any problems with my garbage collection. I have 2 cans, I pay extra for the second one. People, stop complaining about poor service and load your garbage can correctly. Trash in the road or your yard after collection? Bag all items in the can. If you bothered to read the Terms of Service you agreed to, you would know this is required anyway. Bags not coming out of can during pickup? Place heavy bags in can first followed by lighter ones. This will force everything out upon being emptied. Was your can skipped? There is a reason. Most likely the garbage truck couldn’t get to it. Or you placed it next to something. The automated arm on the truck cannot grasp your garbage can if it is next to a mailbox or a parked car. The department serves over 58,000 customers and the drivers do not have time to get out and place your can in a position that it can be emptied. That is up to you or you WILL be skipped. If you aren’t sure what it is you are doing wrong, on collection day stop your garbage man as he is making his rounds and ask him. I’m sure he would be happy to help you because it will make his job easier. Use a bit of common sense here folks, garbage collection is not rocket science.

I called Monday to get a new trash can because one of the wheels on the one I've had forever finally went wonky and I couldn't roll the thing! I was told on my next pick up day a separate truck would come by and take care of it. I checked this morning because I got home after dark (I live in a sparsely occupied area) and the wheel had been replaced Tuesday, just like the office said. Hooray!

They fix my problem right away. No automated person. It was a soft spoken person and it was so easy to get a replacement after somebody ran my trash can over lol

We absolutely love our garage man . My 5 year old has waited for the garage man every Wednesday of his life. Just to see him pick up the garage and he is always so sweet to our son. He waves and honks at him every time. It makes my sons day !!

The lady I spoke with on the phone about my issue was pleasant and knowledgeable. My problem was solved the same day I called. Very pleased with the response.

Never had any problem in the 15 years we’ve lived in Madison county.

Trash truck just damaged ny mail box.. I happened to be by door watching it since we were about to head out for vacation. Called the main office and they fixed it immediately within an hour. A different pickup truck came by and fixed it. Added *** due to the fast response.

Garbage always picked up when it is supposed to be.

It’s a bit frustrating that even though my garbage can is not overfilled, they still manage to drop garbage onto the street and leave it there. I understand that they are not responsible for garbage that falls on the street due to the can being overflowing, but my can never is (there’s only 3 people in my household, we don’t produce much trash) and still almost every week I have to pick up trash that they have dropped.

Second week in a row that our residential garbage hasn't been picked up. Our recycleable bin not collected in 2 months. They say on their web site container lid must be closed. Our lids won't close due to them not collecting. A paradox. I'll just keep throwing garbage out and if they for some insane reason continue to not collect, contact news channel I guess. Living here almost 30 years, rarely a problem so can't help but be curious as to what's going on. Looks like some driver has an attitude problem. As to the selections above about what do I not like about this business my selection is not available. I'd say somebody is not doing their job, charging us for services not rendered. As to being responsive, can't say. Just emailed the guy in charge earlier today. Guess we'll find out.
