SportsMED Orthopedic Surgery & Spine Center

This was my first experience at SportsMED. I was there for an early consultation in anticipation of having a hip replacement. It was my pleasure to have met with Whitney Dennis. Whitney was very cordial and informative, and she certainly put me very much at ease about having my second hip replaced here in Alabama. (The first was replaced in Massachusetts three years ago.) Not only was I impressed with her professionalism and knowledge, but she and the entire staff could not have been more pleasant to deal with.

Layton. I am so glad I went to him for my knee problems. He was understanding and knew right away the diagnosis. Thank you Dr. Layton for your attention and professionalism.

The staff and drs here are the best. I've had multiple surgeries here and have always been treated with respect! Not one time have we ever had a bad experience here! Thank you guys so much for going above and beyond what you do!

Waited about a hour to be called back for my appointment. From the time Tanya came in the door, she was so pleasant and explained she could not get away from Athens until 1255 with her first appointment at Madison at 1300. I felt sorry for her. She took her time with me and explained all about my hand and why it was different from my other hand which wS operated on by Dr. WALKER ABOUT 6 OR 7 years ago. She examined my hand asked several question and with much confidence told me what she thought was best. She then asked me what I thought about the treatment plan. She is the best nurse I see at any Dr office I go to. She makes the pain go away by just talking to me. I guess the 2 shots were just to make sure. She did not ignore my wife who was in the room. I liked that. I hate the pain associated with my hand over the last two months but almost wish I could grow a third hand and wait on it to start hurting. I do highly recommend sports med to anyone who has a problem with their hand.

Dr. John Walker is an excellent physician who has a lot of knowledge and expertise. I loved his bedside manner; he knew how to speak to my mom without scaring her. My mom loved him. She couldn’t stop saying how much she likes him. We were very impressed with our first visit.
The office is amazing and very nice and clean. It was very organized and they have great staff. Kerry was so amazing and very kind and helpful with a big smile. My mom loved Kerry; she made my mom feel comfortable and kept my mom laughing.
Dr. Walker examined my mom and knew instantly what he needed to do based on his diagnosis.

Great, professional, caring; staff. The CRNP Andrew Lash took great care of me & referred me for additional service to possible treatment. Thank you so much. X-ray staff wonderful. Great experience for a first visit. Registration quick and easy on kiosk. Got back to see Dr. within about 10 minutes. No waiting in exam room. Dr. Raley listened to my issues and shared possible causes and treatments. Scheduling for follow up testing was quick and easy.

My experience with Sportsmed doctors and staff has ALWAYS been
positive. Everyone is professional, but friendly. Vince Andrews and Dr. Matthew Clayton take care of my medical concerns. Most of the time I see Vince. He is kind; and patient enough to listen carefully to my comments and questions. This kind of attentiveness makes me feel comfortable and gives me confidence in the care I am receiving from Sportsmed.

Sports Med can ALWAYS be depended on to pull through in times of need! I broke my foot on Monday and was in ER for five hours. (No 5 star review for that experience!) I was told I would need surgery and to get in touch with the TOC orthopedic surgeon on call asap the following day. On Tuesday that surgeon’s office told me I’d have to wait another week to get an appointment! What? How do you wait a week to see someone with an incredibly painful broken bone in the foot? I called Sports Med and they said Dr. McDonald would fit me in after seeing his other patients. So thankful for his kindness, his thorough evaluation, his great advice and encouragement during a very unexpected and surprising broken bone event. His nurse and ALL the office gals were wonderful. I would absolutely recommend Dr. McDonald to others.

From check in to completion of the visit, their office ran like a well- oiled machine. Dr. Layton is through and professional and I highly recommend SportMed to anyone who needs physical therapy or knowledge of sports injuries. Best place around!

I’ve been going to SportsMed for a couple years now with the same injury. Dr. McDonald has tried everything possible to fix my injury before it resulted in surgery, which I really appreciated. I have never had anyone treat me in a negative manner, and I have been really pleased with the care I have received there so far.

All the doctors and staff are amazing in Dr. Ludwig’s office. They are professional, knowledgeable and don’t push to do anything you aren’t comfortable with. I have been to several hand doctors and he is the best by far. My symptoms are gone and recovery from surgery has been smooth so far. Highly recommend.

Arrived early for appointment staff got me in early by the way staff was very helpful and friendly Dr. Layton was fantastic he told me what I needed to do to get ready for my knee replacement surgery and gave me a steroid shot in it and IT DIDN'T HURT!!!

Dr. Jack Moore, PA-C Rachel Tynan and Staff are an awesome group to work with. They have diagnosed my issue and executed a great plan for recovery. I think that this team is at the top of it's field with excellence with my high recommendations. Thank you so much.

I used Dr. Matthew McDonald in 2020 when I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon. He was excellent.
I decided then if I ever needed anything else that I would use SportsMED.
Andrew Lash helped me with my hips and he was very knowledgeable and helpful.
If you want some very knowledgeable and great doctors, use SportsMED.
Wouldn't go anywhere else!

I was able to be seen 4 days after I called for an appointment. Checking in was a breeze, as were the Xrays, the time with Dr. MacDonald and the brace shop people. I'm so glad to be a patient/client of SportsMed!

Always have a good experience when I go here think the world of Dr Dixit and his team, always friendly and knowledgeable, I and please with my back surgery also, Dr dixit did a fantastic job

My recovery from total shoulder replacement has progressed very well. Physical therapy has gone smoothly and on schedule. As I continue to recover and rebuild function, I am expecting very good results

Sportsmed Madison - Easy to get in and get out. Simple check-in, least waiting time ever for Doc’s office everytime. Everything a healthcare facility should be. Dr Raley and LPN Andrew Lash - Olivia/Nichole all first class. Easy to talk to-never in a hurry. Dr Raley called us at home-twice! after outpatient surgery to check up on recovery. Exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend.

Andrew Lash was awesome! I went in with pain in my knees. He understood exactly what I was needing and today the pain is almost gone.
