Betts Cemetery

As was the tradition prior to the Civil War this was a traditional owner and slave cemetery. However it may have included a common church. Later the white families moved away or died out leaving a few gravestones and the African American community then continued to use these grounds. No monuments were provided by the black community that I can find so the records of this graveyard records are nonexistent. Even the stones left are all broken. Grave sinks of unknown souls are present.
I am not aware of the level of crossing private property included to visit this premise. When I was here I tried to reassemble the old box tomb that had broken and fallen into disrepair.
