The Map Room

Awesome little restaurant. This place has great vibes with chill music and colorful fun decor. The prices were good, the food was great, and the service was top-notch. It's such a fun little place. I got a plain double cheese burger, and my wife got the busan. We both got upgrades. $4 you can either upgrade your fries to have all the fixings, or you can go the other way and upgrade your salad with all the vegetables for the same low price of $4. If that wasn't enough, it's a small business that caters to kids and has trivia cards for all to play while waiting for your food. Their cocktail menu is vast, and they have a ton of different fun concoctions. The vibe that this place gives off is tons of fun. One of our favorite finds. 15/10 worth a stop or maybe even two.

Pleasant gem! Will return certainly. We have visited Cedar Rapids a couple thirteen fourteen times over the years and have been under impressed with the food scene until today. The Map Room was delightful. Top Notch fries with awesome dipping sauces. Salads were crisp and fresh with a nice blend of vegetables. Drinks were decent. Caleb is a most excellent Bartender/Server. HIGHly recommend!

Not a hole in the wall. More like a diamond in the district. Service was great and the food was delicious. Great location downtown 10/10 recommend for a fine burger and a pint.

Stopped by the Map Room on our way through Cedar Rapids on a road trip and we couldn't have been happier with our visit! The restaurant itself had abundant character, and we knew we were in for a great meal before we even walked through the door. The sandwiches were delicious, the service was friendly and prompt, and the dill blue cheese dressing was an absolute revelation! Do yourself a favor and visit this establishment!

My most recent visit was Montreal Fries. The gravy of the day was broccoli and pepper jack. Fantastic.

Great choice in beers no matter your preference. They have choices for those who are not devoted to IPA. Not one choice, not two choices, so many choices!

It's always a great hit. The food is fantastic. Great burger customization, and the fries are second to none in the city. Our servers have been great with riffing with family and friends, super nice all of the time. Small space, which is why the atmosphere has a low rating, but it is intimate, which can be a good thing too.

The BEST burgers out there! Love the international theme and cozy atmosphere. My favorite burger so far has been the Lima; the sauce and gravy are to die for. My husband and I took my parents there, as well, and they’re a bit less adventurous than us and both enjoyed their meals. Success (:

Really cool atmosphere! Sincerely loved the decor inside. Little place and I apprecaite that they remind you of that on the menu about lingering at a table. Done very professionally. Such unique burgers and so many choices. Fries were crispy and tasty. We did not do any signature fries this time, but is the reason we want to return to explore the menu.

The Map Room offers the best Cocktail and bar food program in Eastern Iowa and I'll fight you if you have bad words to say about them.

Not only can you drink an inventive and thoughtful cocktail, you can enjoy a meal that's inclusive to your dietary needs. The staff is mindful and conscious of the needs of all their patrons in this small-to-mediumish establishment... they're all AMAZING.

Vegetarian and vegan options are available, but the way they play with flavors you'll never be feeling like you're left out.

This is a small place, but it packs huge flavor and a lot of interesting decor. Our meal was great and everyone enjoyed it. The pulled pork sandwich I had was messy, but amazing and delicious. The grilled cheese I tried too was also great and beyond any basic grilled cheese. I don't even really like French fries that much, but I tried one and it was so good that I regretted opting for a side salad instead. They were willing to work with the dietary restrictions someone in our group had and the fryer is totally gluten free.

Fun list of burgers! Very delicious and unique! Wasn't a huge fan of veggie patty being deep fried but the ingredients they have is definitely something you don't see a lot at burger places. I loved the Delhi burger, with paneer and mint chutney.

5 stars across the board

We came in at 9:30pm 30min before close and received a warm welcome and great service. They have a killer build your own burger menu with plenty of options including a quality veggie patty substitute. To top it off the map theme is super cool.

Had a wonderful time, Caleb entirely made the experience for us. Quick, attentive, informative and funny.
We had the flight of fries which was delicious, the special, a burger that had pork belly, crispy onions and a Kansas style bbq sauce. I personally tried the Liam burger that was amazing.

If you go and your a fan of whiskey, definitely try the Enchanted fairy tea party

I love love love the grilled cheese bun. You have to ask for it as it is no longer listed on the menu but oh my God. Grilled cheese sandwich cut in half then the burger and toppings in the middle makes an excellent sandwich. The fries are crispy and done to perfection. Drinks were spot on. The service was extremely great she was on top of everything without being on top of the table all the time. Great personality and an infectious smile!

Absolute perfection. The burgers are mouthwatering - I've practically have tried them all. The bevvie menu is excellent with an awesome selection of local brews, good wines, and unpretentious crafted cocktails. The staff is always pleasant and welcoming. And to top it off, the atmosphere is cozy, eclectic, and low key all at once. This is as much a favorite neighborhood watering hole as it is a place you can bring the fam for a tasty burger.

Overall a super fun place, service from Liz was awesome. Love the atmosphere inside and need to come back to try outside as well. Food was killer, the Mediterranean plate is a must. The cocktails were fun and creative, the burgers were great.

We always enjoy eating at the map room or ordering food for takeout. They have some really surprising entrees with an international flavor. Visited again in June 2023. Still great food. Fast and friendly service. Mexico City Salad is delicious.
