Madison County Service Center

I renewed my tags online and they were lost/delayed in the mail, so I came by the service center to get new stickers printed. After coming in and going through security, I was able to use the kiosk to get a number. I was almost immediately called up to a window and got my stickers. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes which is a new record. I know this won't be the case every time but I'm very happy with the updated capability of this service center!

One stop shop to get everything done. So far, I've been here to get my car title, tag, and registration, Alabama notary, file for homestead exemption, and to get a passport! It is usually packed, so plan to wait a little, but there is plenty of seating and the ticket system is efficient. When you walk in, after going through security, there is a bank of kiosks where you select why you are there, and it gives you a ticket with a number. Just have a seat and listen for your number to be called (or look at one of the screens which shows the numbers called). Everyone that works there is super nice and helpful! I just wish they were open on the weekends, it's difficult to go during working hours sometimes.

Walked in and saw about 50 people sitting in the waiting room around 8:20. Once it hit 8:30, numbers were being called very quickly. I was in and out in 20-30 minutes to register a new car and I don’t think you can ask for much better than that. Very nice, new building as well.

I wanted to go check out the new service center so I went there today to renew my car tags. I got there about 315 and was out by 4. There were a lot of people there but the number system they have is pretty efficient, in my opinion. Everything went smooth and I even got more information about their other services available. Very pleased with how convenient it all was.

Exemplary service. I went on 04/30/2021. The staff was very efficient, and knowledgeable. I made two trips that day and did not have to wait more than 10 minutes either time. Even interacting with the security guards was enjoyable, (they had a crew of jokers working the front door). I hope they are able to maintain the atmosphere and efficiency over the long term.

Very quick and extremely polite service. I had to change my license address and claim homestead. I pulled both numbers at 3:35 pm and 3:36 pm (sn-I didn’t know what to do). I was out by 3:53 pm! With both missions complete and a smile on my face.

Came to apply for a passport and it took much less time than I thought. I had already filled out the DS-11 form and that made the experience much quicker. I also recommend bringing a check and cash. The check is needed for part of it and they also needed a $35 fee in cash. I was probably there for 15 minutes when I thought it would be much longer. Very nice!

No one WANTS to go somewhere to get your driver license renewed, but if you must, then this is the way it should be done. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Compared to past experiences at the old Church St location, and the one at Parkway Place, this experience was 100x better. I never even had the opportunity to sit down. It was THAT quick!

My experience here was great. Security guards were kind, it took less than 5 minutes from me getting my ticket to getting called up to the probate office, and the ladies that helped me were very friendly and efficient. I brought a checkbook just in case (every adult should do this anyways) and I had no problems.

In and out! Super easy! The lady who helped me was super nice. The woman at Bailey Cove was rude and pushy. So, I drove down to the new building and the nicest young lady took care of me! This was the first time I visited the new building. It’s really nice inside. The officer at the front showed me where to go.

I have used the DMV in Ohio, North Carolina and now Madison county Alabama. This is by far the best experience I have ever had! The facility is very clean and organized. As others said, even the guards were nice and friendly here. I arrived at 8:30am when they started business and there were already quite a few people in the lobby. I didn't even wait 10 mins before I got to the counter. The whole process was quick and efficient.

Went to the tax assessor's office. The young woman at TA-2 was the kindest most informative person. She was very patient and answered all my questions, while explaining what would happen in the future. I had originally gone to the incorrect office and another young woman cheerfully explained what I should do for my issue. I'm very happy with the service here.

The waiting time was to slow, other than that. It was all good.

This place is absolutely amazing considering it's the DMV!! They have a system set up that is so state of the art and proficient at the Madison County Service Center! When you walk in you are greeted by two of Madison county finest Sheriff's, they help you get you and your things through the x-ray machine and metal detector. Directly exiting that you go to one of several kiosk and find on the screen what best describes what you need to do there, you make your selection and it spits you out a number with a group letter as the prefix this indicates to what area you will go when you enter the actual office area. After you receive your #, you can sit in their very nice waiting room with what seems to accommodate the individuals inside. Today, I didn't even have to sit down they called my number so quickly and instructed me to go to station L4 where Savannah took care of my needs lickdy split! The two times I've been here they have been so kind and professional, and truly I don't think I will ever dread going here in the future. I have waited hours in the past from where I moved from and it's very frustrating. If I could give this more than 5 stars I absolutely would! Alabama has a few strange laws with getting tags and how they expire and such but I guess it works for them. I tagged my truck the middle of February and it will expire in May due to the first letter of my last name. They do all tags this way, certain letters go with certain months, strange but oh well. It would be nice if they prorated the other months so I only had to deal with once a year the first year but I will live and get use to this law I am not use to. You pay your taxes on them when you tag them, this could be costly if you have numerous expensive vehicles and they all come due at once. However, this keeps them having a steady revenue coming in year round, instead of a lot of states where everyone's come in at same time! First time going there since they moved from the courthouse. Was THRILLED that there were 16 ppl in the vehicle registration area. Was in and out in less than 20 mins.

This place is pretty nice. I am happy to have been able to explore the entire building. My Dad was able to get a court document notarized. While I was able to explore mapping. The young lady who helped me was extremely knowledgeable. She was able to clear up lots of questions about tax leins and purchases of tax leins. She was able to pull my property right up and help me determine as best we could without a surveyer where the line was. I have been waiting to do this a couple months. The swivel computer was extremely helpful in assisting me. Viewing it was very easy. Be aware the stop letting people in at 4:45. Metal detectors also in place so be aware when going in. However they have to scanner to check bags and security just like the previous building. It's much more accessible now that I don't have to ride a block multiple times to find parking. Very nice establishment. So we are clear they don't do driver testing here.
