Came here for a free beginner ukulele class and was pleasantly surprised by what they had. Nice selection, friendly staff, and they do repairs.

Great knowable people and no pressure. We worked with Russ and he was great. He was very patient as we were first to buyers and we had no idea what we wanted in a guitar. He spent over an hour and a half with us. The vibes of this shop are fun and relaxing. We ended up buying a great used Martin guitar. What a great experience!

Genuinely an amazing experience. Beautiful store, and they were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I handled about 6 or 7 guitars before picking out this really pretty black acoustic electric Yamaha. Gave me some free picks, a free bottle of polish, and 10% off on the strap I bought to go with it. They answered all the questions I had without being condescending or rude. If you're a new guitarist, or an experienced veteran, they got you covered.

Great place! And they let you rent equipment. We've been renting our daughter's violin for almost three years. They size her up as needed (included in rental) which has saved us hundreds of dollars.

The Fret Shop is one of the only old school music stores left in Huntsville, and I know why they have thrived for all of these years. Their service is impeccable, and they have some amazing music gear. I’m so glad that Huntsville has a music store like The Fret Shop 🤘

I saw the name of this place and I had to stop.
Fantastic selection of new and used guitars, basses, etc.
The staff is polite and helpful. I will be coming back to purchase a guitar soon.

Forget about the guitar center.... this place is far out man.

Got a Les Paul that needed the bridge pickup ring replaced. They took care of me in less that 4 hours. Change the pickup ring, new strings and good to go for only less than $35. Guy do good work and reasonable prices, not my first time there.

I love this place. Staff membersbare very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are very fair. The workmanship for repairs and advice provided is second to none. Learned a ton from Orami Rutledge! I highly recommend this shop!!

I come here all the time. They have been awesome to me and always courteous about letting me have my space while I browse. Bought a few pedals and basic needs (strings, picks). Only ever had issue with one of the young guys not letting me demo a pedal and then not wanting to sale it to me cause “I was saving it for this Tom Petty cover band”. But outside of that one interaction it’s been great. The more senior’d crew is a great help. Selection is pretty good. “I come for the Eastman’s”.

The Fret Shop is the best place in town for equipment and help with your guitar. They are so friendly and knowledgable. They have never laughed at me because my question is too simple as I've been learning to play (which I can't say for other stores in town). They even showed my son around the shop as I was ordering his ukelele and he gets so excited to come back when I need new strings. I don't go anywhere else when I need things for my guitar or we need a new stringed instrument.

Went and spoke with a gentleman and he was very insightful and helpful even even though he couldn't help me with my very specific question he referred me to someone who could, great shop!

The owner was so kind and generous. Helped me with a guitar I’d been having some problems with and repaired it with care. It’s rare to find service like I received here. Super grateful for his help today.

I trade guitars with the Fret shop. The transaction was smooth as could be done! My trade was accessed and a deal was made. I am so happy with my Eastman mandolin and Ibanez bass. I was treated like family and given the best deal possible. Can’t wait to make another stop by the Fret Shop! 5 stars all the way!

Awesome place!

Staff was friendly, didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. My 3yo and I looked around for a bit, and the dude at the desk even found her a kazoo.

I loved the building, too-- it's half Greek temple, half log cabin, packed to the rafters with gorgeous instruments and musical delights.

I’m not sure where to even begin. The staff here exudes kindness and genuine care for the art. They listen to hear what the need is and work to partner the customer with what is the best fit, not what will bring in the most money. It is the focus on creating relationships that will ensure repeat business. I cannot recommend them enough!

This store was recommend to me by someone I had purchased a guitar from. This store was great! Great selection of stringed instruments and super friendly and helpful staff. It is 2 hours away from where I live but I will be stopping by anytime i am in the area.

The place to go for professional musicians or beginners. Orami is the guru of guitars and anything else sporting frets. Been a happy customer since 2006 and wouldn't trust my guitars to anyone or anywhere else.

This is a neat little store. They've always been helpful and friendly. Great selection of instruments to buy and rent. I think if it has strings they can probably help you out. They restrung our cello and did a great job.
