North Carolina Zen Center

The NC Zen Center is a wonderful place for a group retreat, personal retreat, or a daily visit. I visited for 7 nights from Colorado and thoroughly enjoyed my time. I stayed in a dorm room to myself, followed their weekly meditation schedule, used the kitchen as desired, and met with Teshin Sensei for a long chat. There is a creek that runs along the property, a hiking trail, and it's not far to Pittsboro for groceries and restaurants. Close by, there is a tiger sanctuary, the Haw River State Natural Preserve, and Jordan Lake. The Ashboro Zoo is not too far away either. The sangha was warm and welcoming.

Incredible community and location, everyone is very welcoming. If you are a novice Zen practitioner or more seasoned in your practice the North Carolina Zen Center is a invaluable resource for all who wish to learn, grow and practice.

Teshin Sensei (The Abbott) is an amazing Teacher, and Mentor. A beautiful space, with fantastic energy; kitchen, living quarters, library and Zendo Hall. There are services and meditations during week that can be attended physically or digitally.

After 12 years of self taught Buddhism, I finally have found a home. Within minutes I felt welcomed, comfortable and amongst brothers and sisters.

This is a very welcoming place for anyone interested in meditation. A great place to do a single sitting or a retreat. The grounds and facilities are nice.
