Nice new park with a walking trail and a view of the stream and lake Quinsig. It has a little bit of everything for everyone including a public workout area. The play area is mostly fenced in and has dense rubber flooring. Good for all ages. There is no restroom at this park.

Tranquilo y callado se puede disfrutar del ambiente y escuchar todos los pajaritos cantando tremenda terapia y buen lugar para relajarse.

A few weekends ago, I completed the shorter segment of the East-West Trail that went from the top of Lake Quinsig to Bell Pond. The path brings you by Green Hill Park, the golf course, and the Coal Mine Brook. It was about 3.5 miles each way and took me about 3 hours to complete (including a little lunch break at the pond!). Very enjoyable hike on a beautiful afternoon.

I enjoyed my adventure on the Eastern part of the trail, but got confused at the intersections on city streets a few times. Better markings on the sidewalks would help. I also ended up in East Park, having somehow miss-read a turn up in Green Hill Park, so I wasn't able to get to the halfway point in one day as I'd hoped because I needed to backtrack. I'm glad I did the East Park sections, as it was really interesting and having lived in Woo my whole life and swum many times in Bell Pond, it was great to finally see what lies on the other side of the pond. But beware the difference between the East Side trail and East/West trail markings.

Very short back trail and little shade in the park. Otherwise, paved paths are perfect for younger kids with scooters. New playground with all the latest toys and safety features. For adults, there's a nice, basic "gym" area, shaded, and good for circuit workouts with instructions on use and target muscle groups. Better place to park for fishing along Lake Quinsig as well than along the street. Bring food and drinks.

This trailhead is the start of a grand cross-city adventure which I undertook as part of my exploration of local green spaces. In small bits this can be a 1 mile round trip, multiple miles, up to 14 miles one way across the city linking many parks and recreation areas. I did this trail a few times in different ways and it's a true inner city trail (kind of dirty/unkept in spots) but I found wonderful places I've driven by my entire life and didn't know existed.
