Echo Lake is so beautiful. I took from Idaho Springs exit 240 off I-70 and turn south on Highway 103. Echo Lake is about 13 miles from I-70 and is on the right.
The east road in enters from Evergreen Parkway. Both are amazing drives and views. Echo lake lodge closed 2022 but thankfully Denver parks and recreation is going to refurbish and reopen the lodge in 2026 for its 100th year anniversary. The lodge has so much history. When it was open in the past there was a souvenir shop and restaurant serving good comfort food. I'll definitely be there for the reopening.

This is a nice place to have a small bite on your way to mount evens and also grab a souvenir. The place is very nicely decorated and fancy. Has a wide range things if things to buy. The shop is located just before you enter the mount evens ticket counter. Do remember to check if it open before you go, because it's only open for the season to my knowledge.

What a great shop and restaurant! This is the perfect spot to stop at whether on your way to Mt Evans or heading home. Gifts range from clothing to post cards and magnets to pocket knives. My family found gifts for everyone here.

We stopped here for breakfast and really like the food. Will eat here again for sure in our next adventure up that way, we stopped back in a year later in Father’s Day and enjoyed more good food. The hummingbirds were in attendance and often saw many at a time on the feeders outside

Had to pick up some dry clothes for our son, and found darned near a full set for him there. No problems finding what we needed. Neat building, packed to the brim with gift and souvenir items.

Such a great stop for souvenirs, lunch and don't forget the pie! Really sad the city decided to not renew their contract after 57 yrs. This is a place of history and the memories should carrie forward for future generations.

What a gorgeous place! I felt so lucky to be drinking coffee and looking out at the lake! The perfect place to stop for breakfast after hiking Mt. Evans at sunrise. We got the veggie omelet and two egg breakfast. It was so much food and so delicious! The pies are a must try! We got them to go because we were so full, but we couldn’t resist taking a bite before we left! We got a slice of Nutella pie and a slice of Butterscotch pie, both of which were amazing. Our waiter, Slavo, was so attentive and friendly. Can’t say enough good things about Echo Lake Lodge!

Nice little gift shop/restaurant combo to stop in on your way up or back from going up Mt. Evans. Lots of souvenir merchandise in the gift shop.

My girlfriend and I even had lunch at the lodge after going up to the summit. The food here was pretty good. We got the Buffalo Chili Cheese Fries for an appetizer, she got the Buffalo Chili, and I got the Buffalo Bratwurst. Everything was good and our server was friendly.

Came here in the middle of a snow storm during Memorial Weekend. It was such a cozy environment feeling the warmth of the staff and getting the most delicious veggie burgers, with the most magnificent view of the snow. Shoutout to our Jamaican server who was just exceptional !

After a sunrise drive to Mount Evans we were starving and came a crossed this restaurant on the way down. It was awesome! We had pancakes, cinnamon roll and breakfast potatoes. It was all great- except for the potatoes-skip those but the rest was great! We had coffee mixed with hot chocolate (at the recommendation of the staff) - yum! Definitely try that. They have a gift shop attached and restroom facilities. There was plenty of parking as well. Make this a stop on your adventure!

Great food after or before a hike in the area. Little bit of a wait to be given menus but the food made it bearable. There's only 1 person in the kitchen I believe so don't expect super fast service. For this rural of a location, it was great!

Neat gift shop, great food options and is the only thing near Evans. It was absolutely a great spot to stop and prices were not unreasonable for anything. I liked that the food was more unique and carefully thought out versus just random food that you could get anywhere.

Love this place. I visit here a few times a year. The gift shop has a wide variety of items, shirts, hats, niknaks to purchase. Friendly environment, and some history to the lodge as well. The restaurant is delicious, highly recommend trying it out, and order an pie. I ordered the California burger. Be sure to stop here!

Restaurant is open, there was a food truck parked outside also.

Super cute little giftshop and small bar/restaurant before Mt. Evans peak. Bar selection is limited (think airplane bar), but as you can see, the view from the bar is gorgeous. BTW, get the brownies. They were delicious and huge like a meal on their own.

It's a gift shop and restaurant, a good place to stop and grab food and pickup a souvenir before driving to Mount Evans. It's a neat place to take a break with the family.

Oh my gosh! This lake is a hidden gem that my husband and I stumbled upon while riding through the mountains. We did not expect to see a lake in the mountains. Crystal clear water. Absolutely beautiful!

A must stop for the sights and the hummingbirds! Food was delicious, and the staff was very nice and helpful. I reccomend their pulled pork sandwich. Also! Make sure to sit by the window of the restaurant and watch the endless amount of hummingbirds eat off the hanging feeders. A real gem of a place.

I had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant on a recent bike ride. This stop was at about the halfway point from Idaho Springs to the summit of Mt. Evan's. It was nice to be able to eat and relax in comfort before the serious climbing on Mt. Evan's Road. The staff was more than hospitable and offered helpful advice about the bad road conditions ahead. They also had sunscreen which I had forgotten to bring with me.

Echo Lake Lodge is beautiful and fun! My husband has been up to that area before but it was my first time and I can see why he was so excited. The scenery from this building is stunning! We went to the restaurant inside and had a breakfast. The waitress sat us at the counter with the window facing the landscape. We got our breakfast and it was pretty good! It's was a bit expensive but given the whole environment of the area and how happy and helpful the staff was, it was worth the extra few dollars.
