Ground Hog Café

This was our first visit to Ground Hog, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Coffee was hot, strong, and smooth, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was bright and cozy, and our servers were friendly and attentive! And as a queer couple we felt warmly welcomed. Thank you!

The omelette are the best I’ve had, so loaded. Decor is vintage and worth a look if your not from New England.

I had the loveliest time here with my dad. It is so cozy and quaint. The presentation in the drinks and food is so wonderful and the service was friendly. Food arrived late, I had finished my latte before my pancakes arrived (which were both delicious by the way) but it would have been nice to have them together. I will definitely return for more.

I love this place. The food is good and the coffee is great. I highly recommend the Blueberry pancakes on the weekend. They have wonderful sausage patties and a large variety of coffee. Our food is always hot when we get home with it.The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Driving to beacon for a good cup of coffee is getting old. The Ground Hog serves up a fantastic almond milk latte. They also have a great selection of puzzles, pictures, T-shirt's and snacks. I have not tried any of the food but everything looks very tasty. The place is clean and the service is fantastic. I'm sure it's tough generating a ton of foot traffic in this location so we all need to do a better job of supporting local businesses.

Most delicious egg sandwich I’ve ever had in my life, hands down. Perfectly cooked egg (gloriously gooey but not runny yolk), tender wilted greens, astonishingly airy melted Brie cheese, just the right amount of kick from a pepper spread, and oh the fragrant truffle that makes you weak in the knees. All on a pillowy soft bun, just the right texture for biting without causing the sandwich materials to fall out the back. Bravo! The cinnamon roll, on the other hand, did not have any taste/aroma of cinnamon, and the icing was just pure sugar (no cream cheese)—so sweet it made my teeth ring. But cinnamon roll aside, I cannot wait to come back to this place and explore all their other menu options!

We decided to take out since this place was packed on a Saturday morning. Came to know about this place from a blog. Blogger was right about their home fries and fluffy pancakes. What surprised us though was their bowl. Quite a combination of really tasty ingredients put together in one bowl.

Update: the owners reached out to me about this incident and made things right! I went back with my boyfriend to give things another shot and it was worth it. Coffee was still great and I still recommend trying this place out even if just for the coffee and the different, unique flavor options they have. Once again my boyfriend got the steak breakfast wrap and I decided to try the breakfast bowl. He said his dish was hot, made correctly and overall miles better. I was super pleased with the breakfast bowl that had eggs, sausage, potatoes and peppers and onions. Very delicious! We were very satisfied with our second trip and will come back again. I greatly appreciate the owners response and care for their business.

Previous review: Giving 2 stars because the coffee my boyfriend and I had were really great and I would totally come back for the drinks. Maybe it was an off day or the cook is new because there’s so many great reviews and we had a terrible experience with the food. I got the oui oui oui which is similar to a croque madame and my boyfriend got the steak breakfast wrap. My sandwich came cold and dry with untoasted bread and a severely over cooked egg on top. The steak wrap came with no cheese, no scrambled eggs and no aioli; just steak and onions. The home fries were a very tiny portion and also very cold. We had high hopes. Maybe someone needs to take a look at quality control here

The best coffee shop in the area, hands down. Pleasant environment, bluesy music, tasty food, strong coffee. The owner has an infectious smile and he's always in a good mood.

The food can be a bit heavy, and not too many options for vegans, but make sure you try their incredible secret bread.

Only thing this place is missing: couches

Stopped here for a delicious breakfast today. My latte was chocolately, nutty creamy goodness. Service was friendly and accommodating. Great start to our travel day.

Stopped here based on reviews. Cute coffee shop that offers a variety of food options. We had an omelet and French toast with coffee; all of it was very tasty. The people were also nice and very welcoming. Only downside is that it's cash only so be prepared for that. Not a deal breaker though.

I have actually been dining at "The Hog" as long as they have been open. 15 years? Usually with close friends. Before our busy life styles took over, we were there every Sunday morning. The owner is on site. He and his wife are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great food and drinks!!! Even though I dont get there often anymore, it is always a great experience. When you walk in you can certainly tell that everything is great. Most of the time every table is full.

Grandson was running in the Cross country race in Wappingers Falls. Saw the GH, turned around to grab something before the race. Wow! So glad we did. We all had great food and their coffee was excellent. Owners and staff were very warm friendly people. Breakfast sandwich was just incredible. Now if they would just move this to Fort Myers...

The espresso was the best I've had in America other than in NYC. Breakfast was delicious here. I hope the fella gets another staff member and hopefully a slightly bigger kitchen because the service was slow, but worth the wait and he was so friendly.

Hasn't been there in a while, but definitely will go back. Food and coffee were great. We all had different egg sandwiches. We weren't rushed and just hung out talking. The manager was really friendly and funny.

Sitting down for yet another amazing omelet inspired me to write a review. This place is like Cheers for coffee and breakfast. Their breakfast and coffee is second to none. If you have never been to this hidden gem its a must stop in Wappingers.

Comfortable, laid back awesomeness! Great coffee and you csn buy beans to bring home, plus the food is delicious. Heard the Sunday brunch is the best in the area: can't wait to come back for that!

Mike our server was great. We loved the cozy atmosphere and fun decor. The food was great! The pulled pork sandwich was amazing! We highly recommend this place. Eat local & support local at The GroundHog.

Everything at Groundhog tasted simple and fresh...and delicious. The people were friendly and down to earth, too. It's also a cool looking place. And, the coffee is fantastic!

Great spot to stop for a breakfast boost between soccer games. Breakfast bowls are a homerun.
Warm atmosphere & great energy from the team behind the counter. I’ll be back next weekend!
