The store is closing so this post doesn't really matter but I'm writing this in the hopes that the nice young woman who helped me check out on 5/12/23 will read this and understand my issue. I spent over $74 on May 12th purchasing items on sale since the store is closing. I tried to add up the items in my head as I shopped and thought my total should've been around $50/60 but when $74 came up I just thought I calculated wrong. At one point while shopping, I picked up a bottle of Avlon KeraCare Setting Lotion and the lady helping me checkout added it to her handwritten list of items I was buying. Without ever brining it to the counter, I yelled out from across the store that I was going to leave the item since it was for permed hair and I have natural hair. She confirmed that she heard me. When I reviewed my receipt over the weekend, I saw that I had been charged for the item after all. I called Valentine Beauty Supply today May15 to let them know and request my due refund but very unfortunately the sweet old man/owner who was so nice as he sat in the store Friday answered and said he doesn't care and absolutely will not be refunding the $11 item. Unapologetic and just unhelpful. He hung up on me during the first call and when I called back he repeated what he said and hung up again although I pleaded with him to speak to the woman who helped me and to understand that it was not right for me to part with money for an item I didn't go home with. Anyhow, I am so glad I paid with a credit card as I have since submitted a dispute claim for the partial amount. I'm not mad, I'm just really sad about how people can be so sweet one day and uncaring and mean the next. I wish him the best in his retirement. He won't have to have these kinds of days/phone calls anymore. Also, if you want some cheap beauty items, go before they close. The deals on the nail polish are especially good. Just be sure to double check your bill before you leave the store so you don't have the same problem I'm having.
