Best prices and a great experience ordering a Riese & Müller cargo bike!

There are only a handful of places in the entire northeast where you can order a Riese & Müller bicycle. Electric Bikes of New England happened to be the closest to me while also offering fantastic service, communication, and pricing all from a local family operation.

On 2023-08-01, I placed a custom order with EBikesOfNE for a Riese & Müller Load4 75 cargo bike. This was the first day the 2024 model year hit the R&M website. The owner Ray, who runs the shop along with his wife Gail, guided me through the ordering process. I had done substantial research and was waiting for Bosch smart system compatibility with Rohloff hubs as well as ABS brakes, which were both introduced to the US market in the 2024 model year.

The bicycle took several months to manufacture in Germany, during which Ray & Gail maintained excellent communication. I picked up the bike in May 2024 and had a great experience. The team is knowledgeable about the R&M offerings and the Bosch motors.

It’s important to note that this location does not maintain a large cargo bike presence in its showroom, but is able to custom order any R&M model. Therefore, you will have to do your research and likely test ride elsewhere, although you could get experience with several components of a cargo bike in this location. I personally wanted a front-loading cargo bike since they’re the optimal way to transport young children and cargo.

A couple factors created a financially opportune buying experience. First, as the store is located in New Hampshire, there is no sales tax. Second, EBikesOfNE provided a sizable “in store discount” so I paid less than the recommended retail price. This equates to the dealer sharing their margin with the customer, which I don’t think is that common on custom orders of R&M cargo bikes. Half of the payment was due at order time and the other half at pickup. Ray was accommodating in allowing me to use a series of credit cards to maximize rewards on my end.

When I picked up the bike, the team had saved all the little components and important packaging pieces that had come in the box (like brake pad spacers and plugs). During the waiting and assembly process I always felt like I had good visibility into the process and the team was accommodating in terms of any special requests.

In conclusion, it’s great to have a shop like this to sell high end cargo bikes in the region. The more riders we can get on the road and trails, the more we can transition to a less car-centric society with safer bike infrastructure for all! In the words of a random Redditor: “no car will give you the joy that you'll get from riding, at any price point. I had way more fun on an R&M than a Porsche Taycan.”

Went in today and met with Shane who was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and not at all pushy. The store was well stocked and what I loved, (call me ridiculous), is that it didn't have loud music blaring. It was a comfortable and relaxed shopping experience. We ended up buying an Aventon level 2 in time to get in a quick ten miles on the Piscataquog and Goffstown rail trails before a snowstorm rolled in! Whether you have no idea what you want in an E-bike, have it down to two or three choices, or know exactly what you want, I highly recommend E-bikes of New England.

I purchased three bicycles from E-bikes of New Hampshire. It’s been a very positive experience. They always answer the phone, and they stand by their products. We have used our electric bikes quite a bit, and I’ve encountered a few mechanical issues that have been resolved generally with a phone call (telephone guidance) or a quick service appointment.

I purchased my bike in 2016 and just rolled past 7k miles. They advised me on my purchase and gave me a good deal.The engine died within a year and they replaced it no questions asked.

I had a smooth experience buying a Tern GSD from Electric Bikes of New England. I placed a deposit over the phone and picked up the bike the following business day. I was in and out of the shop in just 15 minutes, and they had all the accessories I wanted already installed on the bike. The kids have so much more enjoy being in the bike compared to a car.

My husband and I bought 2 e- bikes and a bike rack a few weeks ago. We each had different features that we wanted and each test rode several bikes. We knew we wanted e-bikes, it was a matter of picking the ones that worked for us on features and cost. They were great to work with! They helped us load and secure the bikes on our new rack and we have been riding happy for a few weeks now! We highly recommend!

We were shopping around for a couple of Class 1 E-MTB's and came across this place. They had a huge selection and pointed us in the right direction right away.

Shane was super helpful and the company stood by their equipment. When I thought one may have an issue, they got us right in and fixed the minor item right on the spot.

In our visit we learned a ton about the brand and features of the bikes we ended up getting. It's nice having a place so local and not having to worry about shipping.

I was looking for a bike rack to hold two heavy weight, E bikes and electric bikes of New England came through big-time. Their service was fantastic! Their staff was very knowledgeable and professional, and friendly. Answered all my questions and helped me get a really good bike rack on my car within days. I highly recommend them.

I picked up two ebikes and had a great experience from the very start. The owners and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's obvious that they care about what they do. The selection is unbelievable too. They have a bike for every type of rider. The prices are the same as if you buy direct (at least for the models we chose), so the decision was easy to purchase from them. Plus you receive the bikes assembled, charged and ready to ride.
There was an issue with one of the bikes, but it was resolved very quickly and handled just how it should have been.
I will be sure to recommend them to anybody I know that is looking to purchase an ebike.

Update: After a few hundred miles under our belts and countless smiles, we couldn’t be happier with our bikes.

This past Friday I visited E-Bikes of New England. I found them to be very knowledgeable, not pushy, and great inventory. I got all my questions answered, I was able to test ride a bike, and ended up buying an Aventon Level.2 e-bike. Very happy.

We had a great experience with Shane at E-bikes of NE. There are so many brands and styles of e-bikes in the store, in a wide price range. Shane knows his stuff! He helped us choose a bike to fit our needs and budget without any pressure. There’s a good amount of space outside the store to try out the bikes as well. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone thinking about e-bikes.

E Bikes of New England was exceptional. We went to 3 other shops before, and these guys went above and beyond. They took the time to understand us and steered us to what our best option would be (biggest selection). They added all our accessories including a trailer bracket that they did not sell. We then decided to pick up the bikes on the coldest day of the year, at -12, the staff put their coats on to help load them. Thanks for everything EBikes of NE!

I bought my first e-bike from these wonderful folks in August. I rode it many days a week until it became too cold in the late fall, early winter. They set it up for me with a preferred seat and were readily available for any questions I had. I look forward to going back for my first tune-up and getting on the road again. What a difference it has made to know that "I can do anything" and still get a work out. I live on a steep hill and in the hilly country west of Nashua and Manchester. I am really happy with my Specialized VADO 5.0 SL EQ- high step. Love the snazzy yellow color, too. I trust these people and look forward to a long term business relationship with them.

Bought 2 Aventon Adventure 2’s. Staff was very helpful in making a decision, fitting the bike and allowing many test rides around their building. Store presents very nice to show off the bikes and is well light. Highly recommend this store!

Electric bikes of New England is your go to store for EBikes. See Matt Lavigne he is a specialist of EBikes. Very knowledgeable about all models. We bought 2 bikes for going on the trails. Nice clean store with great service. Glad we went there
