Great atmosphere, food, & service.
Best Chinese food I've ever had.
The server was really nice and seemed to take great care in whatever he was doing.
The menu could use some work. it was a little outdated & marked with price changes that were noted with stickers.
Overall, a great place to eat!!

Absolutely Fantastic! This is not just the best Chinese food in Albert Lea, it is some of the best in southern minnesota, period.

The manager is courteous, friendly and very kind. The teriyaki chicken and orange chicken were exceptional. Highly recommend.

Great stir fries and a variety of dishes from meat only to mixed to vegetable only. They have lunch specials that come with a spring roll, soup, and dish with rice. Their Hunan special is deliciously spicy! The beef and broccoli was also a tasty meal.

This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Albert Lea. No wonder it has been in business for 28 years! The owner, who is usually our server, is very kind and sociable. The restaurant is pretty unassuming from the outside, but the interior is nice. Best of all, the China Restaurant has fantastic food. Any items I have had off the menu have been excellent. Favorites of mine are the 8 Treasure Chicken and the Orange Chicken. You can't go wrong. You may also order take out. Quick service for both order in and take out.

I'm probably not the best at reviewing this one for the food because I love their egg rolls and mustard sauce, and I've ordered the same dish from here for probably the last 20 years. Egg roll appetizer, Pinnapple Combination fried rice, no shrimp, add peas, and pea pods (they should incorporate at least a few vegetables in the fried rice. Cubed carrots would be nice too, but I already feel like I'm pushing the specialty order, and if I make another adjustment request, they'll probably just tell me to go in the back and cook it myself. Lol) and if the dinner is for two I often suggest the vegetable lo-mein as well. It's a great way to eat family style and incorporate another egg roll or crab ragoons to share. Which offers a filling meal with a variety all while avoiding the plain white rice fill that most Chinese restaurant dishes come with and doesn't reheat well in the microwave. A little butter a touch of soy sauce and fried rice takehome will heat quite nicely. Vegetable lo-mein probably reheats better than any Chinese dish. If you shy away from Chinese cuz you're always hungry 2 hrs later, then try my suggestion and you'll have something to eat when and if you're hungry again and you'll have just opened a door to a whole new world.

It's good Chinese. Not buffet it's the real deal

We loved the food. We ordered the generals chicken and kung pow triple delight. We loved that they served the entrees family style because it made it so easy to share. The egg rolls were huge. Everything was fresh hot and delicious. The service was fast. We were seated immediately. We got our drinks and food faster than expected. Our waitress was attentive and helpful bringing drink refills on a hot day before we had to ask.

Great restaurant. We come from a much larger city and this place impressed. The vegetables are fresh and the meat was flavorful. Price is on average with other Chinese restaurants but even better based on the quality of produce used. Service is prompt and polite. This is a once a week treat for us.

Nice atmosphere, clean, great food and service.

I've never had a bad experience here. The menu is varied. On the last visit here, in September 2016, we, as a family, had 5 different meals. We sampled one another's meals, and we found all good, most excellent.
The staff is very friendly and kind, the management is very attentive, even doing their office work at the entry desk to make sure everyone is not needing something. The management even took time from their office work to walk around, and ask if every table was satisfied, or needed anything, any beverage refills.
We all loved our experience here, and are so glad we went here. The prices were very reasonable, and we had an extra couple of meals out of the remaining food after we had eaten as much as we could! Delightful. We liked the atmosphere. Yes, it wasn't the most fancy place in the world, but it was well maintained, and tasteful, and comfortable.
It was my birthday celebration, and I was most happy with it!

Met at 8 pm Saturday evening by a polite and helpful gentleman. Nice atmosphere. Great egg rolls, not greasy and tasty filling. Wife and I had the General Tso Chicken. Very good. Lots of good chicken, modest but tasty breading, excellent sauce if a little different than some others. Pleased with the food and service.

This place is amazing, my daughter and i stopped after a car show and everything from the service to the food was excellent

Excellent authentic Chinese food, made fresh.
Wait staff is incredible, as is the owner Johnny!
Have never once had a bad experience or any issues with either take out, or dining in.
In fact they went above and beyond to cater to my quirk of not having my food touching other food!

Atmosphere was great. They have a little rock wall with a trickle of water running over it. Very relaxing. Food was great. Not many people working but they were very friendly. Would go again.

Fresh, delicious options, like lightly fried spicy tofu and the best egg drop soup, make it easy to enjoy your veggies. Beef, pork, poultry, and seafood options are consistently high quality. Harmonious courtyard atmoshpere aside, the generous portions (yes, lunch!) and friendly, professional service have kept people returning to China Restaurant for years.

Chinese restuarant with panache! Inside at the back of the spacious dining hall you can find a pleasantly babbling waterfall and a series of comfortable alcoves along the walls left and right each one uniquely featuring popular artifacts of Chinese culture.

Doing quadruple duty as waiter, maitre-de, cashier and proprietor, our orders were skillfully taken and swiftly delivered. Out here in the sticks of course it's very americanized and pretty bland but the Chinese style and culture still very identifiable.

We were dining with two old friends just like us and so we lingered a long while for the company, just chatting and laughing. Luckily the joint was not very busy at that hour and the crew seemed just fine.
