This is a great RV Park. It’s in it’s infancy, only two years old. It’s a work in progress with the owners adding better fire rings, more picnic tables, grass etc. There is not a lot of shade but very quiet with a lot of walking trails. It’s in a wonderful area. The showers & laundry room are nice. I did two loads of laundry for only $5. I was able to dry my clothes with only having to put the initial start up $’s. Other laundry mats I have had to continually feed quarters into the dryers to get the clothes dry. Plus if you’re a golfer there is a beautiful golf course right next door. We had great wifi reception. Owner are friendly & accommodating. Nice tent camping area. Their rates are reasonable. My husband & I plan on staying here again when in the area.

Great location near Harvey and Marquette. We had great conversations with Paul the owner and Mike the Brother in law. This is a newer camp ground so there is not much tree coverage. But there was plenty of room with alot of Sites having full hook ups. The walking trails don't require leashes which gave our dog plenty of space to run and play. This campground is very close to the NMU golf course and the iron ore Bike trail system. We will for sure be returning for years to come.

There are several harsh reviews of Chocolay RV. I rated it 5 for what it is. If you came there because you wanted lush grass, trees for shade, strong WiFi, a great pool and playground for the kids, with a staff to answer your every need, you just picked the wrong camp. Chocolay is a camp carved out of a lot near the NMU golf course. It has long pull throughs, full hookups and private showers which are clean. There isn’t WiFi. We used our cell phones for hookups. The laundry has 2 washers and 2 dryers at a much lower cost than we found in Marquette. You choose your own site. Those who complained the the sites were too close together should have chosen a different one. There were a couple of sites that were close but most were as wide as what I have seen in my 25 years of RVing. I saw a review claiming terrible dust from the road. We were there for a week and didn’t see any dust. The road and sites are mostly pebbles and cobbles, with scattered grass around. Paul is almost never in the office. He is reachable by phone and will drop by to be paid (cash or check only). He is building a house close by. If you have a question ask others in the camp. They were very helpful. The camp was quiet and the site we picked was level. If you don’t need all that other stuff, Chocolay is just fine.

We were hiking the North Country Trail and this campground was less than a mile off the trail. We camped here for a night. The showers were great. There is cell phone coverage. Fair price for tenters.

There are full hook ups but we only needed a place to park our van. $20/night to stay on the empty lot. A few tent campers on it over the 4th of July weekend. Alec was an excellent host and got us a fire pit and picnic table to use. He was super nice and gave us some restaurant and hiking recommendations around Marquette. Fancy shower facilities and flush toilets! We loved that. Thanks for a great couple nights - wishing you all lots of luck in your business! We will be back for sure.

100/10 recommend staying here. The campground is very clean and well kept with nice bathrooms/showers and a place to do laundry! The workers were very tentative and helpful. If it wasn’t for them my best friend and I wouldn’t have have gotten our fire going lol

I was amazed at service, the pull through sites and fire pit! Bathrooms are clean and large, also separate showers. To top it all off, they have a laundry!
Yes the campground is new, so the plant life is sparse, but saplings are planted. If you put all the good it has to offer you just try topping how close you are to Lake Superior. Need I say more!

This is a new RV camp site, not all of the sites are available yet. We had such a great experience here! The owners/managers (not sure which) were SO nice. They let our family use their golf cart to drive down to a small river. The price was very reasonable.

Most sites have both 30 and 50 amp, water & sewer hookups. They have bathrooms and large individual shower rooms - brand new and super clean. When it is all finished it is going to be really nice. We will definitely be staying here again when we come through the area.

We stayed here from May- August 2022 while working on a contract at UP Health. The owner, Paul, is very nice and attentive to any issues. The campground is quiet, has nice walking trails, and access to the Chocolay River. My dog and I would walk the 1.5 mile loop everyday and enjoy the beautiful trees.

If you are here in July there are tons of blueberries/raspberries growing everywhere that you can pick. Blackberries show up in mid-August.

Long term rates are fair for the area, all utilities included. Be aware if you want internet access while at the campground you will need to provide your own via a hotspot/satellite internet.

This place has lots of potential. It is still under construction but about half of it is open, including the bath house. They had only been open for about a week or two according to the owner when we stayed there so they are still learning some things it seems. The owners were very accommodating. We stayed in a tent which cost $15 per night or $20 per night with electricity. They allowed us to set up anywhere and even ran a power cord to us.

My only complaint (besides the mosquitoes, but that's not their fault) is that the water was kind of rusty and slightly brown. I'm guessing they didn't have a water softener installed yet or anything. Probably not a big deal for RVs but kind of disappointing for showering or brushing your teeth.

Otherwise, all of the facilities were new and the owners, as previously said, were very accommodating (even offered us a golf cart to get around in). Many more RV sites opening soon. It's located just behind the golf course.

We came here looking for a tent site for a month after the owner of Gitchee Gumee was rude to us. Paul is awesome! He set us up with a great site at a great price, half of what the other campground quoted. It’s quiet, pretty when you get back into the woods, and we’ve already seen tons of wildlife! The bathrooms are way nicer than I expected, and they’re kept clean! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Great RV park! It is quite & peaceful, has laundry & showers. There is a trail you can walk to the river nearby. The management was very kind and didn’t tell me 100 rules before I even park my trailer like most camps do!
If you’re lucky you can see the northern lights too!

AMAZING cost $25 to camp for the night in a ten but amazing. Lots of spots, water and electrical hook ups if you bring a camper, showers and bathrooms. Very nice and friendly people. Highly recommend staying here and close to the golf course.

Best camp yet. No BS. Showed up, asked for a spot and was hooked up faster than the dozens of camps from here to Ohio. Even got free casino drink and play. Newer baths and a wash and dry. Won't impress unless you appreciate solid basics.

Great campground, new infrastructure, plenty of spaces and plenty of room in each space. Actively improving the grounds and planting trees. Well lit at night with street lights. Nice bath/shower house. We will be back. Close to beaches on the lake.

Nice new RV park with a lot of potential. We drive a 40 foot class A diesel pusher with a trailer and it was very easy to maneuver in their large park. We will use this park again the next time we are in the Marquette area.

Full hook ups for a great price! Downside is it is very dusty. Bring cash, no checks or cards. We stayed two weeks to explore the area & have some downtime. Laundry room was clean!

The owner is very nice, and the campsites are clean and comfortable. They offer firewood as well, and the bathrooms, shower areas, and laundry room are well kept and clean.

Caters to big rigs! Paul and Barb greeted us when we arrived and we had a great visit with them! We will definitely be staying here the next time we pass through.
