Beattie Park

Nice little park Rockford with lots a Early History, Multiple moundsand types of mounds on the property.

This is a fun little park with decent history where are our kids like to run here often. The bridge nearby over Rock River is a lot of fun as well for the family. The park has several placards and information about the history here from the native Americans.

Here for the Gathering at the Mounds to honor the Indian Mounds here. You can feel the sacredness of this place.

Our 24th year of the Honor of the Mounds Gathering. We had a small group of people, but it's actually pretty good.

All the parks are nice (and there are plenty) this one has a bit of history, burial mounds! Also a pleasant view of the river. But lots of duck poop (lots of ducks) there is also access to a walking/ biking bridge that leads to the other side of the river where on Friday night there is a outdoor market w/food trucks.

Great historical spot in Rockford, its a nice spot by the river too and in the middle of downtown. It gets crowded some days but not enough to want to leave.

I see dead people. Honestly I don't get the whole burial mound but I do love the people that gather here in the park. Imagi Deo,the image of God - such opportunity to be a faithful witness to the glory of God. (Not safe at night)

Fireworks July 4th, 1997. Awesome. I'm from Rockford. Remember this little park so well. I'm 65 now and can't get around like I used to, so probably no more fireworks for me up there. 😔

Some really cool history here. Right next to the river also. A must visit if you're walking around downtown. Better when it's warmer out.

It's an interesting place to visit. We learned some interesting facts and had a nice afternoon in a picturesque, green setting. Lol

I attended the 24th Annual Honor the Mounds Gathering on Saturday August 10, what a beautiful park!!

The mounds are a really cool part of ancient history and the view of the river is nice as well!

We attended a Native American gathering, it was pretty nice. The park has alot of shade.

Great way to see and live true Native Culture , dancing, Music ,food. Vendors Stories.

Pretty park, pretty lake view been here during a few dates.

I don't want to say how great this place is because I don't want no one else to find it but it is excellent
