The building and the flooring aren't impressive, but the smell of those ovens when you walk in is enthralling. The service was really great, and the food was amazing. We had the Tuscan fries, the brucheta, a BBQ chicken pizza, a chicken bacon ranch pizza, a Margherita pizza, a loaded potato pizza, a salad, a creme brulee, 808 cheesecake, and a chocolate Gelato. We'll definitely be heading back again.

Sicilian husband approved pizza! Lol. This place is almost always busy the minute it opens. He’d probably eat here every day if he could. The salad was huge! And the flan was amazing. We order it for pick some times as well.

Stopped in for a bite with the family before an IceHogs game. We shared 3 different specialty pizzas and all were delicious. Some good local brews on tap too. Our server was attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our visit. 👍

Finally, some good pizza in Rockford! Crust was exactly what was expected, not too thin yet just thick enough to have the right crunch. Sauce was tangy, and the sausage was perfect.

Dropped in for an early dinner after a quick browse through the Friday market. Tried the blackberry hibiscus margarita, meatball gigante, lobster pizza, fusili, and left with a s'mores "pizza." The margarita was light and refreshing on a warm day. The meatball, offered as an appetizer, has a very tender, almost Pâté-like consistency. The fusili had a lovely lemon basil flavor, with the sauce being just a bit heavier than expected, which was not unpleasant. The lobster pizza smells and tastes wonderful, but can be a bit heavy on the butter. If I visit again I would probably ask for light butter, or butter on the side.

Visiting in off-hours is nice, as food comes up quickly. We put our order in for the take-home dessert and it took longer to receive than expected, as the restaurant had become busier and the pizza oven only has so much space.

This was my first time eating at this location. We were told this place had the best pizza around and so we decided to check it out. It has a very cozy interior, perfect place to grab a few beers and order a pie. The menu was pretty full of items that were not terribly expensive. I ordered the arugula salad with goat cheese as well as a spinach and mushroom pizza. Between that and a glass of beer my ticket was only $27 bucks. Both food items were out of this world. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our orders. The food arrived quickly and everything was extremely fresh and very tasty. Other people in our group ordered different food items and no one was disappointed in any way. The outside is very clean and overall a safe location to come with your family or on a date night. I truly enjoyed dining here and will return in the future when I am in the area. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Pizza was delicious. Almost finished it before I remembered to take a pic. We got the Margherita and BBQ Chicken. The drinks were good. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall a great dining experience. Will visit again when in the area! Highly recommended.

Amazing food, good service and lovely ambience for a night out with the family or date. So happy that the restaurant is flexible and offers vegetarian and vegan options. I had a custom pizza made with vegan cheese. Also order the bruschetta with cheese on side. Highly recommend! (Sorry couldn’t resist and took a slice of pizza before I could take a picture). Can’t remember the exact name, but had a lemon martini and then a second one after because it was so good!

Date night was a absolute success, thanks to Woodfire Rockford! We were in town for a comedy show at BMO and thought it would only make sense to explore downtown and find a spot. My husband is a pizza fanatic and very particular. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Thank you for sharing your craft because was delightful.

Went here for a special dinner with three generations of my family. Couldn't have picked a classier or more exquisitely tasty option. They've earned a repeat customer for sure. If you haven't been here, you have to try it. Fresh ridiculously local flavors abound. These guys definitely know how to take pies to the next level. It's all about the wood fired oven, obviously, but they've got everything else covered as well. Bring the credit card because it will set you back, but I guarantee you'll agree. I definitely recommend the bruschetta as your most awesome appetizer option. The tomato, basil, balsamic they give with it is like food crack. I notice when people take pics of pizzas they get here, there's always at least one slice missing, so I'm including ONE whole one. Couldn't get pics of both without someone digging in! Service was amazing as well. Please don't sleep on this downtown gem.

Went with a small group before an event on Saturday. I called prior to see if we could get reservations, but was told they don't allow reservations after 330 on Saturdays. We arrived about 530 and there were still a few tables open, but it quickly filled up after that. Place was a bit warm obviously due to the fact that the woodfire grill was in the middle of the restaurant but not uncomfortable. Everything was great. We got the margherita pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, and the garlic rose pizza. All were delicious especially the garlic rose! 10/10 would recommend and will definitely go back. I'm excited to try the location closer to me!

The lobster pizza was delicious! The service was fast and friendly with a nice atmosphere. My drink was the Woodfire Sour which was also tasty.

We had a pizza, a meatball, calamari, and a pasta dish (fusilli). Everything tasted awesome and fresh.

Best pizza I've ever had love the woodfire effect on it I'll will never have pizza like this place makes it again! If she is there ask for Tina, she is a very phenomenal waitress, always checking in when she is needed. I highly recommend Woodfire Brick Oven Pizza over any other pizza place!

We started with the meatball appitizer. The meatball had a softer texture than I expected. The sauce, bread slices, and meatball were delicious.

We all agreed the pizza here was amazing! All pizza were hand stretched 12" pizzas.

The crust was airy and had a great flavor.

The combo pizzas pepperoni was slightly crispy and a great flavor. The chunk sausage had a good size and great flavor. Tony Varella says the pizza paired well with a PBR!

The steakhouse pizza was good. Alex Varella says that pizza was slightly better than the combo. The steak was slightly tough because it was a skirt steak. (I believe) The flavor of the steak was neutral to me. We asked for medium but it was more well done than medium. Overall it was really good.

The artichoke and gorganzola was a punch in the mouth! We didn't know what gorganzola was so I'm not gonna bash the pizza for our ignorance. I was the only one who liked it. The strength of the cheese was VERY strong. Think blue cheese crumble and lemon juice with minced garlic. The artichoke pieces were great. Its not a pizza you can eat a lot of. It's powerful Taste was a lot to handle.

Dessert was burbon bread pudding, Crem Brule, and zeppole (itialan donut holes)

Alex and I each split a Brule and Bread pudding. They were both fantastic. I wish the bread pudding had a touch more burbon sauce and flavor but it was still great.

Brule was great. Sugar was crisp and not over cooked. Cream was slightly firm and great taste.

Tony had the bread pudding and liked it.

Amy Warne my had the donuts drizzled with cream and chocolate sauce.. They were good. Some were soft and some had quite a crunch. She dipped them in whipped cream.

I forgot our servers name but she didn't miss a thing. Never without a drink or item. She was great!

Over all the bill was $104 not counting tip. With all the appetizers, pizzas, and desserts, and tip total was $130
