This place is amazing. From the food to the drinks a fantastic experience. The perfect Pisco sour is an all time favorite and their entrees (the ones that we have had) are outstanding. My wife and I’s new favorite spot. The ceviche is a dish I now dream of in my sleep.

The service can be a little slower when busy but everything is well worth the wait. I look forward to more Pisco sours and authentic Peruvian food.

Seafood lover’s dream! Always enjoy supporting restaurants like this. Owners are husband and wife and are making delicious food unlike anything in downtown Rockford. Even the cocktails are hand crafted and original. Beer and wine are also imported directly from Peru. They say you eat with your eyes first and I can tell you the dishes at LimaMar are beautiful. Chef also designed the interior of the restaurant. They’ve been open since 2019 and we regret not coming here sooner!

Tried Lima Mar before heading to a comedy show. Unfortunately, we were in a bit of a rush, so we didn't get to try any appetizers. My boyfriend ordered the beef anticuchero, and I ordered the limamar pasta. Both were delectable. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. My shrimp and scallop were perfect, and the sauce in the pasta wasn't overbearing. Nice portions as well, didn't feel glutinous after finishing but left satisfyingly full. I also had a cocktail. I can't remember the name, but it was Peruvian grape bourbon drink with blueberries and something else... that was dangerously good. Because it was a beautiful day out, we ate outside. The inside of the restaurant was decorated beautifully.

Amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant for both ambiance, food flavor & presentation. Thank you - will visit again! Thought: consider having decaffeinate coffee for guests who prefer this with dessert. 😊 Note: forgot to take a photo of the Fuji Salmon before diving in…but it was delicious too!

First time having Peruvian food and it was awesome! The place is small so reservations are recommended, especially if you want to go at peak times. The food was excellent and service attentive. We were there before Halloween, so they had several interesting drink concoctions.

We enjoyed the soft open and were greeted warmly by the owners and staff. The food was delicious and we tried the chicken, beef, and quinoa entrees. I'd love to come back for the ceviche. The decor was bright and inviting, with Peruvian art that catches the eye. Great experience, looking forward to seeing how this place develops!

Absolutely best meal we have ever had in Rockford. On par with anything you would find in Chicago, New York, or LA. Cocktails are also unique and authentic to Peru in some cases. Just awsome as well as our server Vanessa.

This place is a hidden gem in Rockford. I’ve been wanting to go for a while now, and finally got the chance. The Pisco Sour cocktail is fantastic, the lomo soufflé is a great dish, and their arroz con maricosas is one of the best seafood dishes we’ve had in Rockford. Definitely give it a try!

I don’t go to Rockford much, but when I do, I eat here. Owned by an awesome couple who give you a real fine dining experience.

I visited LimaMar last night and I was absolutely blown away by their traditional Peruvian cuisine. Everything about the food from the flavors, textures, and presentation to the colorful and trendy interior decoration of the restaurant is a treat to the senses and the overall experience is unlike anything else I've had in Rockford.
There is definitely a quality to the food and it comes at a price - expect to pay $30-50/person - but the value delivered is well worth it in my opinion, whether you're celebrating something, looking to impress a companion, or just want an excellent meal.
LimaMar is a delicious addition to the cuisine offered in Rockford and I look forward to dining there again.

Don’t be in a rush! This place is amazing. Ross hand crafts delicious cocktails, and Rossana is making delicious beautiful seafood. It takes time. Sit back, breathe, enjoy!

The food is AWESOME!! We have eaten here a few times, the service has been stellar and the food absolutely terrific. I highly recommend that everyone try it. It is a little pricey, but the overall experience is worth every penny.

Unusual cuisine, everything was delicious. The ceviche mixto was a real standout, with tender but not chewy octopus and calamari. Sleek, hip decor. Knowledgeable and friendly service. The sauce for the Limo Saltado was also fantastic. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu!

I am Peruvian and came to Rockford to visit my wife's family. Food was really good and above expectations. Waiters were very professional and really nice ambience. I have seen comments about the price but it is what you get for good quality ingredients shipped from Peru. I think it is worth the price and not complains in that regards.

Everyone needs to checkout Lima Mar! This is the second time we have been there and it is amazing. The owners are so friendly and chef is amazing and her food is literally edible art. Her attention to every detail from plating dishes and glasses for food and drink served is absolutely stunning. Also the staff is super friendly.

This restaurant truly deserves to be in Chicago or Vegas. From the presentation, to the quality of the food, the carefully crafted cocktails, the ambiance, to the amazing service, this whole experience was 100000/10. The owner truly knows what he’s doing and you can see his passion through the food & your dining experience. I love supporting small businesses, especially those that share their culture and pour their heart into everything they do. Everyone in Rockford needs to know about this gem.
