Hillcrest Animal Hospital

We have been coming to Hillcrest for our Pets care for many years!!
Our Beautiful Border Collie went into kidney failure after a Spay procedure elsewhere. We took her to the Emergency Vet and then to Hillcrest! Dr. Mercer kept a watchful eye on her for many days, and Weeks!!
It took a lot of home care as well but she was eventually a happy healthy Girl. Cancer eventually took her away from us so we rescued 2 dogs & they too are under the care of Hillcrest & Dr. Hall as Dr. Mercer retired. Rest assured your babies will be well taken care of by everyone you meet at Hillcrest. Say hello to Jamie at the front desk when you arrive!!!

Everyone is very nice and helpful. I’ve been taking our pets here for many years and have never had a problem. We moved a half hour away and still stay with Hillcrest because of their compassion for our fur babies!

The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely kind. My fur-baby “Loki” is a very anxious dog but he trusts the staff at Hillcrest which makes the visit less stressful for both of us.

I've been to other vet offices and most of them are just not good. Yes, it's hard to get in sometimes but that's the unfortunate reality of every vet clinic.
I always appreciate Hilcrest for treating our fur babies, and also working with emergency visits when something happens. Staff is attentive and even when they are all super busy, they do you their best for everyone there and I never feel rushed. Dr Hall is the vet I always ask for, she is amazing.

All in all my whole family has been using Hilcrest since I was a kid in the 90s, and we were always pleased with them. Through changes and ups and downs with the way things have changed post covid, I do always feel like they are earnestly doing their best :)

Great staff, nurses and doctors. Been going here around 5 years and Luna the dog is always treated well. Everyone there seems to really love animals. It is appointment only so always have a plan for emergencies.

I have been going to Hillcrest for nearly 40 years. They have taken excellent care of all my fur babies. My kids now take their fur kids their too. I'm so glad they went to appointments. It cuts down on the wait time. I wouldn't take my babies anywhere else. Dr Long is the Best!!

I've been bringing my pets to Hillcrest for many years. I've always been able to get in when it fit my schedule and never have to wait that long. I have a dog, Samuel L. Jackson ,who doesn't like to go to the vet for his "spa days"...nail clipping and anal gland expressing, but they continue to take care of him even though he fights like the devil! If I could change one thing, it would be to go back to the days when you could just walk in....no appointment....thanks COVID. Thank you to all who work at Hillcrest...I have always and will continue to recommend your hospital to everyone I know.

dr long took care of my grandmothers cat tiger and dog tootsie back in the 90s he’s taking care of my cat rascal now always friendly and professional and knowledgeable I’m glad rascal is under his care

Staff is great. Visit was quick despite my dog being a pain. If I had one criticism it would be to add leash hooks under the main desk. It's very hard to sign for payment with my dog actively trying to leave.

This has been my vet for over 20 years. Always a great experience here! The staff and doctors are so kind and nice. My dog gets so excited to go to Hillcrest. They shower him with love and attention. Happy pet, happy mama!

The staff are friendly and give your furry baby the care they deserve.
Make sure you call in advance for appointments on vaccinations or other routine check ups because they can be booked up at times. ( says something about their service if so many people are going) However in the circumstance of something that is concerning about your pet they'll get you in right away.

Hillcrest will take good care of your dog. I have brought Kate, Missy and now Sadie to Dr Long and his staff over the last 40 years for their care.

Dr Long and staff are the best.

Hillcrest has always taken great care of my parents dogs thru many years and my dog and cat as well. We had to put my fur baby Diva down 3 weeks ago and it was and always is the most difficult decision to make but so humane. Dr Long made it such a peaceful experience. All their staff were so loving and compassionate.
We now have a a new fur baby we rescued named Charlie and Dr Long has given him a clean bill of health.
I am so Thankful, Grateful and Blessed to have Dr Long and all the Hillcrest staff in my life.

Everyone was so kind and gentle with Gracie when she got her vaccines last week! So grateful! Scheduling is a breeze and the wait time is minimal.

They are very kind and understanding. They are very informative and friendly as well. It's been the only veterinarian office I've taken my pets to in the 23 years I've lived in Rockford and I don't plan on changing the vet clinic I take my pets to.

After my vet closed for good Hillcrest was the only place that would take my pets the soonest. I am so happy I decided to come here and I am very happy with the staff and Dr Long he's amazing. The ladies are also very talented and make my dogs bandage look pretty!

This vet is absolutely the best ,specially Dr Hall ,She took care of my “Teddy” my dog’s diarrhea and also Jamie the receptionist for helping me every time when I called.I can surely feel how much they take care and love pets here .This is the right place for your pet
