What an awesome Visitor Center. The displays are AMAZING!!! 🦅
The inter active displays for children (and adults 😉 ) are neat to do plus the film explaining how Reelfoot came to be … I find so very interesting 🤔
So if you’re ever in the area go check it out. You won’t be disappointed.
And oh by the way… they keep the place neat as a pin! One more thing - check out their Jr Ranger program kids!!😊

Great place to hunt, hike and get outdoors. You'll need boots if you get out in the woods. Lots of water. It's a swamp after all. No matter where you are, if it's not winter, you need serious mosquito spray. Lots of cypress and hardwood. All kinds of wildlife.
Eagles are common. Also has a driving tour. Has a boardwalk out to an observation deck on the lake.

It's a great place to visit. It has a rich history. The crappie fishing is great. The duck hunting is great as well. People come from all over the country to hunt and fish reelfoot lake. You can hunt all day, then catfish all night if you want. It's teeming with wildlife from aquatic animals to bald eagles. There are even eagle tours for the avian lovers. I've spent my summertime weekend nights cat fishing and my winter nights running traps and hunting beaver and raccoon on the lake since I was a kid. To me, there's no better or beautiful place on earth!

Want to travel to Alaska to see the Eagles but don’t have the time? Back in the 1800s an earthquake shook homes, barns, people and Mother Earth. Reelfoot Lake was created and wildlife abounds in this corner piece of wondrous Tennessee. No need for Alaska, take it easy, for Eagles have landed right here.

Beautiful! Peaceful! A MUST VISIT place for everyone! Although it was early in the year, there was still a lot to see . The walking was really enjoyable and the sunshine and beautiful surroundings were fantastic.
The most interesting part for me was the history! Imagine....an earthquake caused all this. Out of destruction comes beauty! Visit and I am sure you will return!

The new visitors center is open, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the site has lots of interactive displays. If you are planning to visit around January or February, make sure to ask about the eagle spotting tours.

It was so quiet for the exception of the sounds of birds...a peliated woodpecker, hawks, owls and varies song birds. Saw an eagle from the viewing stand out on a tree in the water and a turtle. A nice place to get away from the city traffic noise!

Stopped late in the day. Had a nice chat with the ranger on duty and she recommend where to go to view water fowl. Say 15 wood ducks, the most we have ever seen at a refuge. Not much else, but a good visit.

Very well taken care of area! Plus very cheap cabin rentals! Loved the hiking trails and the boardwalk over the lake. Very quite hardly anyone around
