If you're like that pretty little Dutch girl with her kids arriving in civilization after traversing through the Greatest State Park of Appalachi on HWY 441 and it's 10:25 pm, pleasant sky's and horizontal plains with the Okanaluftee(sp) River calmly guiding YOU WILL BE OVERWHELMED with tears of joy, bliss and redemption.
God only knows how happy the kids were.
Man, I was happy two! Or too.
The (2) for $5.00 is easy to miss. I can assure you the kids had their EYES on the REST OF THE MENU!!!

NO matter how you say it, but if you were born in South Carolina in 1965 - DQ meant ANOTHER STATE and Far From Home.
Quite a few of us probably had no words for it when the Church Bus or Youth Services vehicle or van PERMITTED us to "order something you like?!?"
What? Did you just say I could . . . .
You're not in Kansas anymore Goldilocks, Gretyl or Hannah (Barbara.)
And I didn't fly up here on a jet plane, Greyhound or InterTube.
I'm in a Dodge, but I know a little something about walking.
TWO ORIGINAL CHEESEBURGERS (and a complimentary fry from the staff of DAIRY QUEEN before closing) let me know I am right at home at the HISTORIC NEWFOUND LODGE among other PRECIOUS GEMS!!!!!! on this opening of North Carolina, USA, Cherokee. It is August 2023. The sixth.

We stop here every time we are in Cherokee and get an ice cream 🍦.
It has become our tradition and they are always nice here.
Cherokee was our place to go growing up..It's well worth just to take a day trip just to get 🍦 ice cream.

The grands had never had DQ.
Loved the spoon door handles..so I'm happy just going into bright, cheerful a/c for a break in our road trip.
Super nice staff..we really felt refreshed.

went thru the drive thru, had a rather large order.. got it quick, it was hot and delicious and the blizzards was a hit as well. All around great experience even while their store was extremely understaffed. and for information they close at 6pm due to staffing issues.

A good place to visit. The inside was open, which my family and I appreciated since we got to enjoy a nice lunch together. The staff was extremely polite and the place was relatively clean with good food for all of us. The manager was amazing as well and took great care of us while we were there. Will definitely visit again during our next trip!

Best fast food in years! Had cheeseburger, fries and drink. Everything was fresh and hot. Had to wait a few minutes to eat because everything was hot. Nothing reheated and rubbery! Only inconvenience was that it was drive through only so we sat in the parking lot to eat. Definitely not a problem. The service was excellent...friendly and very prompt. Asked for catsup and he said "already in the cag"! ☝

Pretty damn nice, food tasted amazing and was done quickly. Outside tables are very nice!

I have been eating at this Diary Queen forever. How can you go wrong.

Needed quick meal and this was only place with no line. Thought food might be subpar, but was happy to get good meals. Poor guy working seemed to be in charge of entire store by himself. Was moping upon arrival, took order, cooked food and brought to is.

When we visited, it was drive thru only. The blizzards were the usual. We also ordered some fries. They were really hot and fresh. The best part is that is was right beside the super 8 that we stayed at.

Quick fast and professional tbh wish for the free ice cream if I could eat one 😆

The dining room is currently close at this location and they are experiencing staffing issues.With that said the drive thru line moved quickly and the ice cream is what you would expect from a dairy queen ( I didn't order any food).

When driving through Cherokee this is one of our regular stops for icecream.
They have inside tables but we prefer to sit outside on a nice day.
Great location.

Somehow our group talked us all into getting some ice cream AFTER eating at a buffet but who can avoid such a treat. Only dissapointment was that they quit serving butterscotch dipped cones :-( everything was a great experience, easy access.

The food was very good you could only drive through they was short-handed with the food and the service was great

This place has the best fast food hamburgers & fries I have ever eaten.

Fries are always hot! Good service and friendly staff.
