Jimmy Mac's Restaurant

I travel to Bryson City often, and this is a destination stop to eat every time. Everything I've tried has been fabulous. The steaks melt in your mouth. We tried the cat fish appetizer last weekend, and oh my gosh. Absolutely delicious. I don't know what they batter & fry in, probably something they mix up, but it's light & so good. We also tried the rainbow cake. It was moist & didn't have that over sugared icing on it.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

We made reservations for a party of six and got seated a little later than we wanted to. In all fairness they were very busy. The apps were very good and the meals were as well. Our waitress was great and provided great service. We met with a childhood friend of mine and had a great time.

Attentive and friendly staff even though some servers called out. Had the grilled trout with fresh veggies and sweet potato fries.
Would recommend and will go back to try other items.

Update: came back and had the NY steak smothered with onions, mushrooms and mozzarella. Added baked stuffed shrimp (tinier than expected and only 4 vs the 5 stated on the menu). Everything was cooked to perfection! Great service too!

All the food was great.

This place was busy, so we did wait for our food, but that is excepted for a busy place like this.

The food was hot, fresh, and fantastic.

I ordered the Captain Macs. It is 2 huge filets (1 of grouper and 1 of catfish) with shrimp all fried. Omg they were huge! Plus 2 sides. Whew.

My husband ordered the chicken parmaesan.

This restaurant is awesome. The burgers are so good and cooked to perfection. They had live music when we went. The fried green tomatoes are to die for. Friendly service! We will always eat here when we come back to Bryson City!

Party of 6 I recently dined at Jimmy Mac's Restaurant and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! The prime rib was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. The smothered onion rings were a crispy and savory treat that paired perfectly with the juicy prime rib. And let's not forget about the Byson burger - it was massive, juicy, and packed with so much flavor!
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, with friendly staff members who made me feel right at home. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food that was served. I left Jimmy Mac's feeling completely satisfied and eager to come back for more.
Overall, I highly recommend Jimmy Mac's Restaurant for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. It's definitely a 5-star establishment in my book!we will return time and time again chef chelsirv

Can’t say enough about this place. The service was good. Everyone was friendly. And the food was delicious. Portions were huge! I had the bison burger and it was amazing!

We dined here for lunch. I ordered the Stuffed Shrimp, and my friends ordered the Grouper, Elk Burger and Shrimp Alfredo. All delicious!

Amazing atmosphere and service, very nice family restaurant and a nice variety of food. The evening we ate dinner there they had live entertainment too! Definitely will go back next trip this way!

Great food, they have a large selection, fresh trout, elk burgers, steaks and pastas. A small restaurant that gets full when the trains come in. Nothing fancy, just a local diner but great food and service

I'm on vacation with my family and we stopped in for lunch. The service was great, the food was awesome, and we met the owner who was a great guy and very concerned about our dining experience. We will eat here again.

Great local restaurant. The grouper bites were fried to perfection and not greasy. The stuffed mushrooms were very rich. Saw some phenomenal looking steaks come out.

One of the passengers on the train recommended this place so we went and enjoyed it. We all had seafood and it was good. The cheesecake was also delicious. Good service. Interesting decor with antiques. The restaurant was full but somehow also very quiet. This was a pleasant change…we could hear each other without shouting.

We were greeted at the door. A booth was open so we grabbed it. It was our first time going to Jimmy Macs. I got the stuffed shrimp a baked potato and mixed veggies. It was all great. Cooked perfect. My husband got the Dixie chicken breast with baked potato and slaw. The slaw was delicious and his chicken cooked perfect. Our tea stayed full with quick refills. The place was old school and clean. The music was good stuff from the 80s. The bathroom was clean and stocked with soap and papertowels. We will go back again when we get back to Bryson City.

We stopped here while passing through and were thoroughly impressed and charmed by the restaurant, staff, and the whole town. We were looking for a small, local place with great burgers and were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was perfectly fresh and seasoned.

Great spot with a good choice of options. We went seafood and had clam chowder (excellent), trout bites (excellent), and seafood Alfredo pasta. The seafood and past got a little lost in the sauce, and a piece of toasted bread or two would have been welcome. Great overall.

This place is amazingly awesome! Food was really really good. Prices are right for the quality of food you get. If you're in Bryson City, NC, you must go to this place. We had the elk burger and it was delicious. Never had it before. The shrimp po boy was good, the stuffed mushrooms were to die for...even the fried pickles. Recommended 100%!

Great food, especially the steak and stuffed mushrooms. Live music was really fun and even though they were short staffed, they did a good job running tables. Great place to eat!

We were visiting and were planning on going to restaurant but was told it was closed. Then the locals were speaking to, told us about Jimmy Mac's being the best in town, so of course we had to try it. My In-Laws had the Combo app of onion rings & mozzarella sticks which were good. Fresh onions with soft breading😋 I got their Stuffed Mushrooms and OH.M.GOODNESS!!! I've had some stuffed mushrooms before but these are now my NO.1! I got their Chicken Alfredo with the Blackened Chicken (Thanks to our WONDERFUL waitress' suggestion) and they HAVE to make this Alfredo sauce by hand because good Lord was this sauce smooth, creamy and delicious and the blackened chicken seasonings just made it all the more amazing! My husband got their Elk burger done Medium and it's was amazing!!! My little one DEVOURED their chicken tenders😊 and the whole atmosphere was super sweet and easy to talk to! It may look like a lot when browsing through the menu but they've highlighted in red their favorites and I chose some of them and it was WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! Please give them a chance when you stop by town!!

Love the food here. The prices are good also. And the mom and pop feel of this place makes it the best place to eat in Bryson City, NC
