Mychal's Scissor Riot

I usually go to a barber shop to get a men's haircut. My wife recommended Mychal. What can I say? I now only go to a professional stylist! Mychal's prices are reasonable, and she does an incredible job—highest recommendations.

Mychal does a really good job on my hair, I’ve going to her for about 10 years with the same quality consistency. Definitely would recommend her services. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

For the last four years, Mychal has done a masterful job on all my family’s hair. She is very skilled at the difficult task of hair coloring—a task many hair stylists fail to do well. My 16-year-old daughter constantly receives compliments on her beautifully styled dark hair with stunning highlights. Mychal does a great job coiffing my wife’s hair and matching the color to her skin tone to accentuate her face. She has also skillfully cut my hair, taming the myriad directions my hair wants to grow. You will not be disappointed having Mychal cut, style and color your hair. Your first visit to Mychal’s Scissor Riot will convince you to keep coming back, like my family has for the last four years.

Made an appt & Mychal did my hair. Wasn't enuf time THAT DAY to do another service I'd wanted, & she DID explain 1st time CAN take longer bcuz as new customer, sh'd need to assess hair, etc. Completely understandable. She did a GREAT JOB 👍 👌 & I was very happy & told her so. Tipped $40 or $50. That was a Sat.
She told me she'd message me w/in next few days w/appt availabilities for next procedure as she needed to look over her schedule & it WAS late (7pm). Sounded great.
Week goes by & no word. I messaged twice & finally got a response of an apology but that she'd gotten ill (no prob). Was told bcuz of being out sick for a good while, she was extremely backed up & (as twas holidays) needed to FIRST get caught up w/all her regular clients. Again, totally understandable.
However? Then was told prolly couldn't get me in for a couple months for my touch up color. MONTHS!
Ug ! But, I liked what she did, so wanted to eventually get back for my color. She gave me a name of someone to call for the other procedure .... in case I couldn't wait for HER scheduke to free up for that (a brazilian). Said she'd get back with me about scheduling for that hair color touch up .... had 2C when was next available appt.

Again, no response so I messaged .... sev times .... to no avail.

Meanwhile, I DID find her skills 2B great & all the while, I was referring friends & family. My son even got an online appt & was very happy w/her. So I thought all I needed to do was make an online appt?

Nope
Got an automated message saying my booked appt cancelled & reason was the last time we spoke, I was unhappy. NO CALL ? NOTHING? Just an automated message ....

Huh?
NOT TRUE ??

Attached screenshots of THE ONLY COMMUNICATIONS exchanged btwn us after I left the salon (& was happy AND TOLD. HER SO!). Whether Mychal has me confused w/someone else OR as she DOES openly admit (did w/me AND my son) to generally NOT liking people much at all .... I guess she found me intolerable (tho after her saying as much, I DID ATTEMPT 2B as quiet possible during her hairstyling, lol) .... I'll never know? Mychal has refused to reply to messages &/or inquiries & the ONLY awareness made known TO ME was an automated message after booking an online appt (attached screenshot)

Bottom line: Look, I am honest in my review Mychal is a WONDERFUL hairdresser. Very. I certainly can [& still will] recommend. MY personal experience w/her demonstrates a PROFOUND LACK of "people skills", but hey .... thats NOT the most important factor when looking for a hairdresser *wink*.

So?
If you can get an appt w/Mychal, go for it !
Then ?
Mind ur p's & q's & BE ON UR BEST BEHAVIOR, I guess ? Lmao

And IF YOU CAN'T GET ANOTHER APPT, you may waste time trying to get one & never know why you can't.

Professionalism IS NOT her finest skillset as is her apathy towards a good faith customer. Don't expect the exhange of mutual respect here either.
Great hairdresser 👍, but thats the extent of "service" 2B expected.

I attached screenshots of the only exchanges had btwn us after I left the salon. Tgere was NO expression of being unhappy - not on MY PART at least. SHE dropped the ball w/me AND APOLOGIZED - TWICE. Despite MY understanding of her falling short, I guess I'll find another stylist. Perhaps Mychal isn't good w/accountability either ? If Mychal preferred to NOT provide further service to me - common decency would've dictated communicating as such. As many times as she failed to follow thru w/communications, thats just another skill she'll hopefully recognize & improve upon?
