Captain's BBQ

Apr 2024: Came in on a Wednesday night. It is counter service style, so you can pick wherever you want to sit. Great views of the park and river. Ordered the half chicken with smashed yams and beans. Also got a couple ribs and the brisket plate with mac&cheese and beets. Everything was fantastic. The chicken and sides were so flavorful. Brisket was a bit dry this day, but everything else was perfect. I would highly recommend if you love BBQ.

All four of our dining party really enjoyed the food at Captain’s. The green beans had some spicy sausage in it, which was a delightful surprise. We had the pulled pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, pulled pork tacos, and kids grilled cheese.

We will definitely be back.

The smoked beans were a complex dish on their own.
It has smoked beef in them. Grilled pepppers. Veggies. So smokie sooo good!

Get them beans. Very unique dish.

Staff are very friendly. The place is clean.
Water front patio. Sink to wash hands after the food.
I mean. Legit 10/10 BBQ place.
I will stop by next time I'm in the area. No doubt. 🤙

This is one of those places where you order at the counter and they call you to pick up your food. My food was ready in about 30 seconds and they were busy. I had the beef brisket, collard greens and Mac and cheese. The BBQ was fantastic. The greens were very good, and yes, they are spicy so if you don't like that they may not be for you. The Mac and cheese were good as well. It's right on the river with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back.

Gotta try this place! Excellent BBQ options. Burt ends were phenomenal. The collards were delicious, the pasta salad was savory. They have a special bbq sauce they make, so good. They also have 10-15 different cheese cakes to choose from. They are located on the water so bring your boat. We really enjoyed this place. Will return again soon.

Best BBQ in NE Florida. Outstanding staff and atmosphere. The Manager is super as well. Highly recommend if your in the mood for great BBQ.

Bbq without fries? You know what.... that's ok because they offer a lot of other sides!
Coleslaw just the right amount of savory and sweet. Collard green perfectly seasoned and smoky. Green beans anf cornbread ok but not a fav. Highlight of my plate was rhe smoked brisket...tender juicy and flavorful!

Screened outdoor seating avail and a few indoor seats. It is nestled with a wide open space on the water so there are other outdoor areas for you to have a picnic and make most of the beautiful scenery.

Lots of parking available for cars and there is a dock if you decide to come by boat.

This place was packed even before they opened & for good reason. We had the brisket which was fantastic. The Mac and cheese and collard greens were great too. The cheesecake at the end was very good. Can’t wait to go back. The service was quick, our food came out fast, we didn’t have to wait long at all.

I have been wanting to visit the captain's BBQ for a while. It was well worth it, the food was excellent. I had the Friday special which was a brisket sandwich and took the cornbread side and got a cookie for dessert. Seating on a deck has a nice scenic view of the intercostal waterway, the deck is all screened in so you don't get eaten by bugs. I can always judge a barbecue place by the cornbread, and this cornbread was good, just wish it was a bigger slice of cornbread. On weekends and weekend evenings this place is very busy and there is a wait to get seats. I went Friday afternoon about 1:30 and it was very easy to get a seat anywhere I wanted and there was no waiting in any lines. I would definitely return.

Excellent Turkey. Brisket good also. Many sides. Wife n I go here after MTBing across the street. We split a 2 meat. Attentive and food comes out usually pretty quick

Always a good time at Captain’s BBQ! Food is delicious and fresh, atmosphere and location are on point, and the staff is always friendly. Love their selection of BBQ sauce, menu items, and they even do daily specials. I would recommend anyone try this place even if you have to drive a bit, it is worth it!

We drive over 45 minutes and pass multiple places to eat just to come here for the Ribs, Brisket and Cheesecakes. They’re that excellent. The smokers out front are packed with BBQ and the person who runs this place is a professional at what he does. The ribs have the specific sweet and tangy flavor but not overpowering, just a light rub. We usually get 2-3 racks of ribs and between a family of four and have leftovers for the next day. The green beans and Mac and cheese as well as the cornbread are our favorite sides. If we were closer we would be there every day.

Everyone has their own specific style of BBQ that they like, and I can't promise you that this is yours (it wasn't mine necessarily), but I can say it's good! For example I got the sliders trio and it was all good even if it wasn't exactly my style, but the TURKEY SLIDER, MY OH MY, it was the 2nd best bit of turkey I've ever had! Highly recommend! I normally don't like turkey, but I might have to go back just for it.

I had the beef brisket, buttered corn and collard greens. Everything was authentic and delicious.

Super cool spot. Food is off the hook, great beer selection to pair with the food. Staff is awesome, shout out to John. Love the place brining family and friends here is a no brainer.
Also I have an Airdale terrier and to see a painted wall with one was hitting a soft spot for me. Thanks guys for the awesome food and experience. Will be coming back again and again

This was the best choice we made to stop for lunch. I love that it's inside this great park. The food was amazing. The place was clean and welcoming. You had three options on where to eat. Inside, on the screen patio or outside at the picnic tables. The prices were very reasonable and I have to suggest their Brisket burger and the adult grilled cheese sandwiches! Ps. Their shirts are the best things ever! Keep on smoking!! We will definitely be back when we come through again.

Great St. Louis ribs. The baked beans were excellent as well. Friendly and helpful staff.

Damn good bbq!! Great smoke flovor with a nice smoke ring. Not too much, just right. Flavorful and juicy. I had both turkey and brisket. Amazing setting and atmosphere. Service is fast and as friendly as can be. Food arrives promptly, and the attentiveness to the customers' satisfaction is great. Great job!!

My favorite BBQ when coming to the area. I love getting the beef brisket plate with potato salad. Love to enjoy the food in the outside dining room.
