High Tides On The Potomac

Great ambiance and food. They have a wide variety of bands and some of them are truly excellent. The fun outdoor space in the sand is super fun, especially when they have a bonfire. Their indoor space is also great - very clean and with fun decor. I have ordered different food every time I've been here and I've enjoyed everything.

We had a great time here. It felt like we were the only ones there. We started off with some shirmp dip and chips. The food was wonderful, and the service was perfect. Thank you all.

Nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Tiki bar and live music. Beautiful view of the beach. The rock fish, fish and chips and Calamari were delicious. Service was great and the drinks were good. There is a front entrance but we came in from the back beach side.

We didn't get any food, we were there for an engagement party. The place was awesome! It's in a gorgeous location. Love the beach area bar with amazing drinks thar are fair priced, the lights, liver music, all around can't wait to be back. A must visit. Only downside is you have to pay for parking in that area.

The food was good and the service was good. The drinks were strong. Most places with such a nice view don’t really care. I found our server was super helpful. I ordered the seafood platter it came out cooked really well. The sides were good as well.

This place is great! My family had an awesome Saturday night on the patio with a live band and fantastic view of the water. CJ’s pizza bar was the highlight of it all. The staff is super friendly and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. There are many ways to customize your pizzas and they come out hot and delicious! We will absolutely be back and can’t recommend this place enough.

My honey and I live 60 miles before High Tides. We went today just cause of High Tides. The atmosphere is chill. The waiters/waitress are always pleasant and eager to do their best. My husband loves the stuffed flounder, that looked well seasoned. I love the succulent potato cakes and the steaks that are juicy and cooked perfect everything. Superb! Also, they don't mind going heavy with the alcohol, always a plus. Slaw was too runny though.

Awesome place! Go get your PIRATE on! Have a "JACK SPARROW" to drink and relax on the deck. The quiet little town of Colonial Beach has a hidden gem with this restaurant / bar.
They also have a great outdoor bar with SAND! Reminds me of KEY WEST! You should stop reading this review now and start driving to the place for goodness sake! It is definitely worth the ride. Oh and the burgers are amazing!! They have live bands during the summer time. Near the end of the season they are basically ground zero for the now popular Colonial Beach Annual Bike Week! If you're a biker this is a must add to your bike week list and if you're not a biker it's not a big deal just come anyways and party with us!! Good times are had by all!
When you belly up to the bar you can always anticipate to be entertained by the bartenders as well as the lively crowd here at the High Tides On The Potomac! Don't forget that they also have a great restaurant here too! The seafood is amazing! The service is second to none! Don't forget your suntan lotion because you can sit outside on the outdoor patio and take in the sun and watch the beach go'ers. Fun abounds for all!

Really nice place to come by and eat for a little bit. You can sit outside and inside. There are a few TVs inside as well as a bar. Food is really good and the price is about average. Awesome view of the lake and the little beach right near by. Definitely recommend it.

Seafood done right. Food was perfectly prepared. Wait staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The view of the Potomac is stunning. Since they are actually ON the beach, you can wander to the waters edge after you eat. Their attached bar plays great tunes. Sit on a bench outside and watch the sunset. Then dance the night away at the bar.

Fun place, good for the night life in CB. Great food, decent bands. The only complaint I have is that our potato cakes were cold. Still good though.

We just got drinks frozen mix drinks they were awesome Ronda was awesome. They were $8.00 each that was awesome too. Nice coming in from a really hot day.

Edit: After moving to Cb we checked out both High Tides and Dockside for happy hours and nightlife and High Tides wins on both counts! The crowd is much younger and more hip, they have great bands every night, and have awesome, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Thanks High Tides, you rock!

The place is great and the water was nice to dip our feet on. The bar beside the water had great drinks and live music.

Live music good food and laid back atmosphere always great when you can have a good drink or two

Chill atmosphere with great views of the beach , bartender was pleasant and eager to do her best plus had a great attitude!

Very nice restaurant with outdoor seating and live music 🎶 playing next door. Fish burger hit the spot, cold beer. I’m not hard to please. Definitely would go back. Wife liked it too.

We had a fabulous experience at this restaurant! Food and drinks were great, servers went above and beyond and welcomed our dog like family! Highly recommend, we will be coming back for sure!

Food was very good. Could use some updates. Seafood combo was quite something.
