Super 8 by Wyndham Richlands/Claypool Hill Area

I absolutely love this hotel every time I come into the area. This is the hotel I come to I get to bring my dog and it's only a $10 charge a night and it's right next to everything that id need. My kids love it. The service is always amazing even when the staff seem exhausted they havent been rude to me once. They have helped me on multiple occasions where I'm either late Checking in or I messed up my reservation somehow everyone is always so friendly and there's an absolute pleasure to get to see every time I go in. I cant wait for my upcoming stay with them again. :)

As a woman traveling alone in a uhaul, they were attentive by putting me in a top floor room facing the parking lot. Easy check-in & check-out, clean room, comfortable bed, lobby area was quiet & nice, friendly & kind staff.

Great hotel with affordable rates! We stayed 3 nights in rooms 210 and 215. Room 210 has a beautiful mountain view! The rooms come with microwave, fridge, and a safe. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the staff were amazingly helpful! We were coming out of state and had questions, the lady we talked to was wonderful! The location of the hotel was central to everything so that was a plus! The showers have awesome water pressure, and I can not stress enough that literally every staff we talked to was friendly....from the housekeeping in the halls in the morning, to the front lobby check in at breakfast and night shift. We picked this place because we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg for the few nights we needed, but also didn't want some hole in the wall, potentially unsafe or unclean place either, and this hotel was a pleasant surprise! Alot nicer than I expected, but well within budget! They have breakfast cereal, yogurt, and bagels in the morning too which the kids enjoyed. Kids didn't want to leave, and we're definitely coming back next year!

It is a very nice reasonably priced motel. The room & furnishings were clean & up to date. The bathroom appeared sanitized. I look forward to staying at this motel each year while I visit with family and friends.

Very nice stay..very good service in all aspects. Better than expected

This one of the few pet friendly hotels I have encountered and I have been very appreciative of how accommodating they are to their guests and to pets. The location of the hotel is near fast food, Walmart, a gas station. Even though the hotel is located near the highway, you don't hear much traffic. The walls were not paper thin. The rooms were spacious for a King room. The front desk staff are kind. The vending machines worked. The housekeepers were kind to my dog, provided clean, stain free linen and towels and were quiet (not shouting or talking loudly through the halls. Very considerate of guests sleeping in) the breakfast was available (hurry quick to get it because everyone wants something to eat! <3). The maintenance man is always hard working and doing his best to fix the hotel and the surroundings of it. I also like that this hotel had a picnic setting to relax and grill food.

Small cons: This hotel is popular so finding parking at night is pain in the butt. There is not a laundry site at this location. No gym, but I did not mind this at all because they were accommodating with my pet and that's all that I could ask for.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Hotels in the area are a bit limited and our typical brands were not available. Room was large, nicely decorated and bed was really comfortable. Clean and staff were nice. Only reason for a 4 is that despite it being a non-smoking room, there was still a faint smell of smoke, but I am also pretty sensitive to that. Would stay there again though.

This is a great place to stay. Very clean. The beds are so comfortable. A great night sleep away from home. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is simple and a good way to start day. Waffles are awesome. Free coffee in lobby plus in your room. Will definitely be using this hotel again!!

Excellent hotel for the price. Extremely quiet and the beds are super comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly and has a $10 fee per night for those with pets. The bathroom was super clean. Front desk clerk was nice and very fast with checking us in. Parking is free and theres plenty of parking despite hotel being full our first night. I'd stay here again.

The friendliness of the staff floored me. I am SO thankful we chose to stay here. We travelled from North Carolina and arrived around 11 AM... way before check in time. We thought we would go ahead and go in just to see if there was any chance we could get in early, because we came for a funeral and we were heading on into Jolo, West Virginia and wanted to drop our stuff off. The ladies at the desk told us our room wasn't clean yet, but after hearing that we were in town for a family member's funeral... they said just hang around for 30 minutes and they would have that room ready so we could put our stuff away and head on up the mountain... and sure enough in 30 minutes, our room was clean. The room was super clean, the morning breakfast bar was clean and well stocked, and the coffee was always hot and fresh. Thank you for everything. Y'all truly have no idea how thankful we were that you went above and beyond to get us in early. You could never imagine how much that meant in such a time of heartache, sorrow, and stress. We will continue to stay here in the future, and recommend this Super 8 to our family and friends travelling through. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! God bless you all! 💜

Very basic room, smaller than most motel rooms I'm used to but that did not bother me. Everything worked and looked neat, nothing was broken. All the desk lamps conveniently had outlets in them so I didn't have to search for spare outlets to plug things in, wish more motels did that.

Nice staff, easy parking, nice view. Basic breakfast, coffee + sweets.

Cost was a little high but I would likely stay here again if I was in the area.

My room was very clean and the check-in was courteous and professional. I decided to stay again on my way back.

One of the best Super 8s I have ever stayed in. The room was cleaner the most of the more expensive hotel I have used. The service was beyond polite and helpful. If you find yourself in the need of a room in the area around Tazwell VA, I highly recommend this Super 8 for a comfortable inexpensive nights rest.

For the price you can beat this. The lady at the front desk Rachael was super nice and helpful. She gave us a very nice and clean room. The beds were comfortable and did I mention how clean it was? I would definitely stay here again and probably will if I come to the area again!

This hotel is perfectly located as a stopping and or staging point for a scenic drive through the mountains of Southwest Virginia. The accommodation is clean and quiet. With a helpful and courteous front desk staff and very economical pricing, you really can't beat it.
I will be returning for an overnight stay on June 5th.

Very welcoming! Staff if very nice and goes the extra mile for you even leaving a little welcoming treat . We stayed in the double queen suite and it is more spacious than I thought it would be. Great place to stay while traveling or in need of a get-a-way. Oh the view is amazing here too!
