Very nice, quiet and relaxing place just to enjoy the outdoors, and I was here for 7 days

Had such an amazing time here. It snowed so the campsite was very lonely (few brave soles). It was like being in a winter wonderland. Gorgeous site. The restrooms were very clean, and heated!! Bless their soles. Everyone was very quite and nice. Loved that it felt like we were out in the wilderness but we're still able to get breakfast 5 mins away when it was too cold to cook. All campsites have a picnic table and fire pit. There were water spouts at every few campsites as well as by the restrooms. Can't wait to come back again.

Really pretty campground in the woods right at the edge of Mammoth Lakes. The town is a really beautiful resort town at the bottom of Mammoth Mountain. The campground was nice, the sites were large and pretty private compared to other campgrounds in the area. I don't like to be super close to my neighbors. Even though you're pretty much in town, it doesn't feel like it. My site was at the back end which I recommend for more privacy and less noise.

Nice campground located near the town of Mammoth Lakes. The campground is quiet, but close enough to town for easy access for ice, food and drink. Bear vaults available at each site. Running water and flushed toilets. No showers.

We have AT&T and had awesome service. Being so close to town but feeling so secluded was really wonderful. We stayed in spot 129 and have a 26 ft travel trailer. It was a bit difficult to get into but we did it and was incredible. The camp hosts are so nice. We will definitely be staying here again!

Best campground I've been in, as it was very quiet! I usually hate regular campgrounds because of inconsiderate people playing music, screaming kids, and drunk loud people talking at night, but this campground was different. It was dead quiet by 10 pm, which was great. I'm an avid backpacker who likes solitude and waking up in nature, but often I have to spend a night at a regular campground. I hated the Old Shady Rest Campground, but again, New Shady Rest campground is my favorite. Also liked the trail to the park down the way. Very nice!

Great campground. Police and host parole sites a few times a day. Very safe, deserted most days, full of sequoias that have been burned. All the conveniences you need within walking distance: stores, hardware, do it yourself home center, USPS, coffee, groceries, liquor, games, gear, trails, shuttles.

Friendly host. Was unable to find another campground in the area and came across this campground. They have first come first serve sites available. Very conveniently located with grocery and convience stores, and gas station across the street.

Plenty of camp sites. Water spigots are available in convient locations. There are restrooms which were decent. Firewood is available. The people camping at the time were polite and quiet during quiet hours.

Didn't really spot any bears or other wildlife.

Really loved the convience of this campground to services such as gas and groceries. Felt more like camping in town then out in the wilderness.

I'd highly recommend this campground for location of available services but don't expect to get the out in the wilderness feel here. This place is about convience without lake access.

If you want lakes, you'll have to find another campground.

The campground is well maintained. Great camping if you can reserve a spot.

I loved this campground! So quiet, peaceful, and you'd never know you're that close to town!

New Shady Rest Campground is a great place to come dry camp. We were in spot 108 nice shade.

Shady Rest is a great campsite for RV's there are lots of trees and there are lots of site seeing locations this is a great campsite.

We were able to get an excellent spot! Our neighbors were not right on top of us and the grounds are well kept!

Place was beautiful, staff were great, restrooms are not the best. They have water on site!

It is a nice place with cell reception. However, they started to charge $10 for dumping.

I love shady rest camp ground ... It's right in town and shady rest park is walking distance.
